Hi! I was recently diagnosed with BV, and was prescribed 500mg twice daily for 7 days. I was also diagnosed with Friable Cervical Ectropion; however, there’s no treatment for that. OB believes that as a result of both possibly exacerbating one another, it was causing bleeding/spotting. I don’t like to take any type of medication while pregnant so I’m kinda freaking out about taking the antibiotic. I was reassured that it is safe to take during pregnancy. Plus, untreated BV can cause serious problems for the baby, & I’m not willing to take any risks. I’ll be 24 weeks along this upcoming Monday. Anyone else being treated with Flagyl? Or, have been treated? Thank you!
Re: FLAGYL during pregnancy...???
For info on meds during pregnancy or while nursing, Infant Risk knows way more than most doctors or pharmacists. They have a website, phone number, and app (not free but a one-time low fee).
But all meds are risks vs benefits, and BV is a pregnancy risk.
But please, don't keep posting your every question as its own thread.
