@allthingscozy. At my old job, we had to have weekly safety minutes during our meetings. We had a whole month's worth of safety minutes about geese nesting near the parking lot. They are so mean!! That is totally justified.

@inthewoods23 the day you change over to the next week of pregnancy. So those that turn from 12 to 13 weeks on tuesdays are in the Tuesday ticker change group. I hope I explained that right. I’ve seen it be due date weeks to such as due first week of the month.
@inthewoods23 Ah, I’m so glad you asked this about ticker change! In my not-so-humble, and maybe Unpopular Opinion, the ticker change option is THE dumbest thing ever!!! It’s for everyone in an entire BMB to communicate in that thread if they change to their new week of pregnancy on the same day of the week. So, if you start your new week on Tuesdays, you chime in with your update in your ticker change thread; you could be turning only 6 weeks on that Tuesday, and updating about that phase of your pregnancy, while others are turning 19 weeks and 30 weeks, etc, all on the same day of the week. It’s dumb to me because there is so little in common to talk with each other about. The other, and much better option, IMO, is to do it by due date. This way you are updating each week with other people whose due dates are within the same week as yours, and therefore have so much more to talk about/relate to. *End my own personal rant hahaha*

@inthewoods23 Yep, from what I’ve seen, BMBs choose one or the other. Some people like the ticker change option because they feel like they get to know more people that way. But in reality, there are 7 days to distribute members amongst, whereas doing the weekly check-in by due date week divvies up the group into 4 groups/due date weeks. So you actually get to know more people by doing the due date week option.
Can I ask you all for some extra thoughts and prayers? My great aunt is not doing well. She went into the hospital on Wednesday for high BP and pulmonary issues and then she was doing great yesterday but this morning we were just told she needs a transfusion and she is in critical condition, and that they are just taking it one hour at a time.

@keikilove I totally agree - the ticker change is totally dumb. Why in the world would it matter what day of the week you're due? The odds of having a baby on your due date are slim to none to begin with, the day of the week has nothing to do with it.
Additionally, I feel like the current ticker change trend has been driven by some STM+ who have come back from previous BMBs that did ticker changes. The only problem is that even 3 years ago the BMBs had a LOT more participation, so it almost made sense to break the groups down smaller. The more recent BMBs just don't have 300 active members.

@kpearse99 and @mtv2003 WHAT is with the lack of bird love?!? I mean I agree with @dobiemom11 that geese are totally vile, but duckies are adorable and amazing!!!!! I legit picked up a duck at Disney World like 3 years ago (on the bridge between Spooky Hollow and the Christmas Bulb Shop in Magic Kingdom) AND when I was at a reenactment a year and a half ago this guy brought his pet bird (parrot?) with him and it gave me a kiss! LOL. I would totes post pictures but although I GIF like crazy I legit can't figure out how to open a photo in like 'paint' and smear out my ugly-ass face and then copy/paste that here...

Sorry for the lack of bird love, they're just not my thing! I was attacked by a turkey at a farm as a kid (they're MEAN!) and ever since birds and I just do not get along! Although I will say, Disney ducks are just different than normal ducks. They're more magical.

@capnjackharkness I don't hate birds, but as a microbiologist, I think I know too much to really love them. They have a lot of diseases that can easily pass to humans. So I admire them from afar. They can also be pretty loud!
I have never had much experience with birds... but we were at an aquatic store last weekend (DH is big into aquariams) and they had a cockatoo there. I walked up and said hi and he said hi back and it was instant love DH was looking at me like I was crazy because I then stood there for the entire 15-20 minutes we were in the store going back and forth saying hi to a bird

Additionally, I feel like the current ticker change trend has been driven by some STM+ who have come back from previous BMBs that did ticker changes. The only problem is that even 3 years ago the BMBs had a LOT more participation, so it almost made sense to break the groups down smaller. The more recent BMBs just don't have 300 active members.

@kpearse99 and @mtv2003 WHAT is with the lack of bird love?!? I mean I agree with @dobiemom11 that geese are totally vile, but duckies are adorable and amazing!!!!! I legit picked up a duck at Disney World like 3 years ago (on the bridge between Spooky Hollow and the Christmas Bulb Shop in Magic Kingdom) AND when I was at a reenactment a year and a half ago this guy brought his pet bird (parrot?) with him and it gave me a kiss! LOL. I would totes post pictures but although I GIF like crazy I legit can't figure out how to open a photo in like 'paint' and smear out my ugly-ass face and then copy/paste that here...

Sorry for the lack of bird love, they're just not my thing! I was attacked by a turkey at a farm as a kid (they're MEAN!) and ever since birds and I just do not get along! Although I will say, Disney ducks are just different than normal ducks. They're more magical.
