Re: Wednesday Ticker Change 2/19

  • Estimated due date (EDD): 10/22

    Week of pregnancy: 5+0

    Upcoming Appointments: Not until 3/17

Rant/Rave: MS started today. I had it really bad with my last pregnancy. Started around 5 weeks and wasn't able to stop the diclegis until 25 weeks. I'm going to give it a few days, but I will probably call the OB and ask for it sooner this time. Last time I suffered in silence until my first appointment at 9 weeks.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: If you could live in a book, movie, or TV show, which would it be?
    Book: Harry Potter
    Movie: uhhh... Harry Potter?
    TV: Gilmore Girls

  • Estimated due date (EDD): 10/28

    Week of pregnancy: 4+0

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/19

Rant/Rave: I'm excited to finally make 4 weeks. Now that I have actually reached the missed period day and the lines are no longer squinters, this is feeling more and more real.

Questions: None today, but as a FTM I'm sure I will have several thousand over the next few months :)

GTKY: If you could live in a book, movie, or TV show, which would it be?
The old school BBC version Pride and Prejudice would definitely be my chosen book/movie, though Harry Potter is also a fantastic idea!

@carrotsandpeas3 So sorry about the MS starting early. I thought I had a little nausea yesterday, but it might have been all in my head. If you need diclegis early, definitely ask for it! MS sounds miserable.
  • @fitzfizz yay for more clearly positive pregnancy tests! I tested negative at day 29 and then positive (but still weaker than control line) at day 32, so I am actually probably not that far ahead of you even though I'm 5 weeks by lmp date. And ask away as things come up! I very clearly remember how clueless I felt as a FTM. I'm in medicine so I felt like I should know more, but being pregnant was definitely totally new territory.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 What do you do if you don’t mind my asking? I am a physician, but not in obstetrics at all, so I feel like I know too much (so I freak myself out about everything) but not enough to feel secure.
  • @fitzfizz I'm a physician (not OB) as well! I definitely ride the train of "know too much of what could go wrong." I'm more comfortable the second time around, but I still have flashes of it and I'm sure I will still freak out in my head before every ultrasound.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 I sent you a private message!
  • Estimated due date (EDD): 10/18/2020

    Week of pregnancy: 5

    Upcoming Appointments: March 17th  :'(

Rant/Rave: Why does my dog insist on hitting me in the boobs constantly? They're so sore, haha.

Questions: How do you tell your 12 year old they're going to be a big brother? We were thinking of taking him out to lunch to break the news.

GTKY: If you could live in a book, movie, or TV show, which would it be?
Agreed about Harry Potter (post Voldemort of course)

  • @brittscasale I am a first timer so I can be of no help with your question haha. Do you have any reason to believe he won’t be excited?
  • I forgot I’m a Wednesday ticker!

Estimated due date (EDD): oct 7

Week of pregnancy: 7 (+1 now)

    Upcoming Appointments: March 4

Rant/Rave: raving about everything bagel seasoning

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could live in a book, movie, or TV show, which would it be?

Hmm. Most books I read are horror or dramas and no where I’d want to live 😅 Gilmore Girls is a good answer.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Oh geez. I didn't realize that I calculated my due date wrong until I saw someone write 22nd on today's Thursday ticker change. Guess I'm the 21st! Still a Wednesday girl.
  • @Kurtni If you mean the Trader Joe’s everything bagel seasoning, I am obsessed with it! One of my favorite snacks is avocado toast sprinkled with the seasoning. Yum!
  • I was away this past Weds, so I'm catching up!

Estimated due date (EDD): 10/7 (though an appointment today may shift that)

    Week of pregnancy: 7

Upcoming Appointments: 1st appt today at 3!

Rant/Rave: We told my daughter this past week. I was feeling queasy and needed to go lay down, and her sweet little heart made me a Get Well Soon card. I didn't want her to worry about me, so we decided to tell her the good news. Her eyes welled up and she snuggled with me for an hour asking me all sorts of questions.

Questions: Who else has a cat's litterbox they get to pawn off on someone else for the next 8 months?

GTKY: If you could live in a book, movie, or TV show, which would it be? It's between Harry Potter's wizarding England or Jane Austen's Regency England.
  • @brittscasale It's hard to say not knowing him. Is he someone who would enjoy the news in a public place like a restaurant? Or would it be better in a more private space where he can react how he feels and ask you the questions he wants to?

We originally wanted to wait until Easter to tell our 8 yo daughter by giving her an Easter egg hunt with clues (which she loves). But we wound up telling her quietly while we were away on vacation and I was lying down to rest (yay MS). She snuggled with me for an hour asking all sorts of questions and holding my belly. That was beyond perfect for her since she thrives on snuggles and got very emotional at the news.
