Private Group Discussion

Re: Private Group Discussion

  • @rikiteacup or the people who intro’d like a week ago  :D
  • Loading the player...
  • @rikiteacup I Definitely was expecting a lot more people to be in the private group by now. There’s more people who actively post.   Where you people at? 🧐
  • P.S. Anyone else's toddler figure out that pregnant Moms can't run? My 3.5yo who was never too bad of a runner has suddenly become a terrible terrible runner. Like every time we go to the store the transition from car to buggie is a risk, every time we have to leave anywhere at all if I alert him he runs, can't trust him in the zoo or museum... When DH is around he doesn't do it. He's just figured out that I can't do squat about it and is pushing that limit like crazy!
  • @craftywitch I am so sorry. Toddlers are jerks sometimes. 😂😔
  • @craftywitch I’m glad you’re back!!

Ive had an extra strong grip on my toddler lately, just in case. He doesn’t usually run (knock on wood) but he has before and I just can’t catch him right now!

  • @craftywitch I just always have a treat up my sleeve and bribe her to come back to me hahaha
  • I just put in my request although I’m not sure I did it right🤦‍♀️ Technology is not my strong suit
  • Same as @AlexisJoy92 sent in my request but no idea if I did it correctly. I always use the app on my phone, should I try my computer?
  • Sent a request but I understand if I don't make the cut.
  • I got denied so I figured I didn't make the cut. I just don't personally feel the need to change how I am in online discussions to try to rejoin.
  • @optimism3 have you tried joining the private group?
  • Just saw this. Will ask to join. Admittedly don’t understand how any of this works but have appreciated being part of the group so we’ll see
  • @jvk2012 @brookert615 @craftywitch @daffodil_shoe did I get denied? Or did I not properly request? I’m not seeing any notification of denial but I requested a couple days ago and don’t see acceptance into the group either I feel like I might have done something wrong😕
  • @AlexisJoy92, I don’t think we ever saw a request from you. You can submit one and we’ll discuss.
  • I didn’t even realize we switched over. I just thought all the boards died. I submitted. Admittedly I don’t understand how the private groups even work
  • Guys at the risk of sounding like my Mom, how do I apply to join? When I went to the link on my phone a box popped up asking me to say why I wanted to join, which I did. I heard that that didn’t result in me submitting an application though (😂). When I go to the group page it says to apply but I don’t see any button to actually do that. If there’s a simple fix thanks for passing it on. If not I’ll reach out to tech help. Thanks
  • Ignore me - I think I’m in!
  • Also denied and I thought I was fairly regular. Wishing you all the best of luck with safe healthy deliveries.
  • @22ksi2 did you receive a denied response? A lot of people were having trouble joining the group using the app. I would try again on a regular computer. TB is having a lot of troubles with the app.

  • I'd love to swing over to the private group. Having trouble figuring out how though. I guess I'm a grandma when it comes to technology??
  • @Mrstomommy1114 on the first page of this post about half way down is a link.
  • I attempted to join but haven't been accepted
  • I use FB way more frequently. Is there a FB group yet?
  • @charbabymama my guess is that you haven't been super active on this board so we don't really know who you are.

  • hmmm…I was pretty active in the "Great Question Thread" and now no one is talkingn (although I think it's due to app issues). Does anyone want me to create a second private group for those of us that weren't accepted into the first one?
  • @charbabymama if you want? I wound up having my little girl early on the 3rd. It would have been nice to be able to try and get additional advice since she refused to latch and my area resources suck.TBH if I had known there would be an end of the line gatekeeping on who could continue to be part of the group. I wouldn't have joined here.
  • @catwood1703 congratulations on you baby girl!!!💗
I’m glad to see you post this though I feel the same way it seems like February 2020 had a popularity contest on who got to end the pregnancies together and who didn’t I understand weeding out drama starters or catfish but they seemed extremely selective to me I recognize both you and @charbabymama and I’m surprised neither of you got in either sorry you had to experience the end of the journey and beginning of your new one alone. Best of luck for you and your baby girl I hope you have been able to get help elsewhere for her latching issue
  • @charbabymama you have a total of 29 posts, including the 2 here. That means you posted less than once a week your entire pregnancy. That is far from being "pretty active".

@catwood1703 congrats on having your baby girl! I understand where you're coming from. Unfortunately, the Bump isn't what is used to be. They fucked up a few years ago (2015?) and there was a mass exodus. They still don't have their sh*t together (it is impossible to post form the app). Looks like the place never recovered. I would join a Facebook group for new moms or find a forum with more activity.

  • @catwood1703 sorry you’re struggling. Do you still need help? I was able to nurse my second for over 2 years so I might be able to offer some guidance. There is also a breastfeeding board, but it’s generally pretty dead. Kelly Mom and Le Lèche League are also pretty good resources.
  • People have stopped posting in this group, however a bunch of us still check for new messages. If you need the support or have questions, please still ask and someone will answer!
  • My March 2018 group is still active on TB.  It’s only a few of us, but is definitely still fun and interactive.  We can still do that here.  Like others, I’ll keep checking in here.
  • @doodleoodle Im not sure TBH I was able to find someone who did consults and I go monday and tuesday. But now I'm questioning on if it is worth it as my job wants me back in office in 2 weeks. As a small business I don't get Mat leave through FMLA and I need the income.

@catwood1703 i totally understand. I’m sorry you’re in that position. Have you had the pediatrician check for lip lies or a tongue tie?

ETA has your baby ever been able and willing to latch or is it a more recent development?

I had them check at the hospital while we were there and they said they did not see anything concerning.  She never really did latch at all while there and a "well meaning" nurse might have helped cause some aversion by trying to force it. I still try some skin to skin and doing no pressure offer but still no dice.
  • @catwood1703 I was told by a homecare nurse that my son's tongue tie was nothing to worry about, but when we went to a lactation consultant it turns out that it was the cause of his feeding difficulties. Point being, talk to someone who specializes in that stuff and don't trust the opinion of non-specialists.
  • It was the hospitals lactation consultant that checked
