Hi mamas, curious if any of you have tried the “nub theory” for first trimester gender prediction, and if you know yet if it was right or wrong for your baby?
Hi mamas, curious if any of you have tried the “nub theory” for first trimester gender prediction, and if you know yet if it was right or wrong for your baby?
Just like any other "theory" it will not accurately determine the SEX (how the child pees and possibly reproduce) of your child. It is a 50/50 gamble and unreliable. Ultrasound is fairly accurate, the only 100% guarentee is birth.
The gender of your child will not be 100% known until after birth and the child identifies as male/female.
Sounds like posters agree that nub theory is complete bogus and it's about 50/50 as to which SEX your child will be.
I'd like to urge patience, and an appreciation for hopefully having a healthy living baby, as many on these boards would give their left arms for such a chance.
Lol. Alrighty, this was more of a general curiosity. Friends and I were having a fun conversation at work about the theory. I’ve actually never posted in a Bump forum and thought this would be the right group to chat with. But man, this is representative of my “tribe” of new moms and expecting moms? Meant to be lighthearted. All good. Wish you ladies very peaceful pregnancies and healthy babes!

We prefer science here. It’s 50% accurate even when the person has some idea what they’re looking at, which we don’t. It’s fun for you and your friends because they know you and have some interest in what’s between your baby’s legs, apparently.

There are some Sonographers in a Facebook group I’m in that believe they can accurately predict the sex from the nub at 12 weeks. They have been scanning for YEARS. I’ve been a sonographer for 3 years and can barely get the nub shot. So you and your friends probably will not be able to guess correctly but sure, give it a go. Or just be patient and wait until your anatomy scan.
So... you were expecting random internet strangers to be your "tribe"? Without even TRYING to get to know any of us or paying any attention to the culture since July 2018 (when you made your account)?
@jrouge12@harpseal135 Sorry for the late response, but I have not gotten my money back YET. They told me they would refund me once I give them a copy of the birth certificate showing that their guess was wrong. So whenever this little peanut is born, I'll try to take care of that and hopefully be getting a full refund, lol. I only did it for shits and giggles too (and curiosity, obviously), but I made sure to wait until the anatomy scan before I went out and bought anything sex-specific!
