Re: Randoms

  • @Smelh324 that's interesting about probiotics and GBS. I was GBS+ with my first and second. Maybe I'm try probiotics this time and see if it makes a difference.

@klngnhp I had sore bleeding gums with both of my kids. My dentist told me its pregnancy gingivitis. Apparently it is caused by the increased bloodflow and hormones instead of bacteria like typical gingivitis. It was definitely uncomfortable and my gums would bleed like crazy from just brushing. Flossing was intense.

@Smelh324 yuppp I’m excited that DS is starting kindergarten in September but also not looking forward to an earlier drop off. Right now he and DD1 go to the same preschool and it starts at 9:15. Some mornings are still nuts, but it’s not terribly difficult to get there. DD2 goes to a home daycare on our street two mornings a week and that drop off is 9am. No problem. Butttt kindergarten starts at 8:30 *and* all three “big” kids will be going different places. So. That’ll be fun.

ETA: lol this should have been in the STM+ thread. Wooops. Moving on.
  • I think we should start our ticker change check-in days to hopefully get some more participation here. I know other BMBs have a check-in based on which week of the month you’re due (ie: 1st week check-in, 2nd week check-in, etc) but I’m kinda partial to ticker change days. So if you change over to a new week on a Monday (meaning, you’d be 4w0d, 5w0d, etc on Monday) then you’d check in on the Monday Ticker Change thread. Same with all the other days of the week. Does that make sense? Should we go for it?
  • Thus far my definite symptoms have been sore boobs and fatigue. They hurt so bad! I've been getting little whiffs of nausea after I eat a bigger meal, but nothing bad. Today at school I had lunch duty and the smells were a LOT more intense than I remember (and that's not a good thing in middle school).
  • @kmalls Yes, I love that idea! I love being in an organized board, but can't trust myself to be in charge of posting all the right threads. I really wanted to start the UO and FFFC threads, but you know...do I want to be THAT girl?  :D
  • @tdevlindrye DO IT. Be that girl, lol. Post what you want. I feel like I’m basically talking to myself here.

I'm a yes on ticker change for groups. I couldn't remember how my board used to do it, just that it wasn't the way September has their check ins. Glad you have the good memory!
  • Ditto, @dolewhipper , thinking of you (finally caught up on the whole board, so I hope things are ok!)

Today the nausea has hit a bit more. Definitely stronger in the AM.
  • *bangs pans together*

I'm tired but these people (DH and DD) won't let me sleep! Every time I try to nap the toddler jumps into the bed and whispers "mama" to me. Or the husband attempts to talk to me. This fatigue will be the end of me.
  • @Cosmomom129 I'm so sorry for your loss. ❤️

My assumption is yes, but will you have an earlier ultrasound/more testing, etc because of your history? I really hope that helps your anxiety and worry even the tiniest little bit.

  • Echoing @MJDsquared, is it possible to get an early ultrasound this time @Cosmomom129? My doctor doesn't do one until 9 weeks but I remember with my first I got one at 6 weeks because I had a chemical pregnancy and was explaining to the doctor that I was very nervous about the new pregnancy. In general if there's a history of loss they should absolutely check things early.

I hope you find a good provider! Pregnancy is beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I hope you get some reassurance soon ♥️
  • @morethanamama @MJDsquared

Yes I will have an ultrasound in 2-3 weeks. Our specialist is about 3 hours away (gotta love living in the middle of no where Wyoming!). They told me when we meet with him last year that when I get pregnant again to expect 4-5 scans before 15 weeks. There is a 15-20% chance it can happen again. But they know what to look for. It’s just scary. Even with all the precautions that will be taken!
  • @Cosmomom129, I’m going to reply in here instead of in the introductions thread.
I’m glad to hear they are taking extra precautions this time around. The one “good” thing about IC is that it’s usually treatable.
Are they planning to do a cerclage? This will be my first pregnancy having one and I’m really hoping to get to my 37 week C/S! I only did the progesterone shots with my 2nd because we didn’t know my loss was due to IC because I also had a placental abruption. FX we both have long, health pregnancies.

  • @profmcgonagall I’m not sure if I will have one placed or not. With my dd I didn’t have any issues. They are thinking the ic was due to the weight of twins. So fingers crossed there. Once I get my first scan I should know more. After the first scan the specialist will take point on my care. So until then I’m kinda at a loss.
  • I'm so annoyed that it's raining, I was hoping to take DS to the park. Maybe we'll do an indoor playground instead.

I teach yoga and fitness in my "free time" - as if I have so much of that, lol - anyways, this Sunday yoga class has been slow to pick up and I'm still waiting for the studio owner to let me know if anyone signed up or not. ..and it's in an hour 😣 I'm going to have to nudge her now.
  • @dolewhipper yay!! That's great news about the results. It must have been hell you wait. I never thought about the possibility of two eggs and one ending up in a tube but I guess it makes sense that it could happen, I'm glad it's very rare and I'm sure you'll be out of the woods soon!
  • @dolewhipper YES!! That’s such great news!! Hope DD gets better quick. :)
  • @dolewhipper you are so right! It messes with your head so much. Congratulations on the the little bubble! We go on vacation on Sunday so I will have an ultrasound when we get home!
