This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

How are things going?: Well I'm on my 22nd day of vaginal estrace and I feel like I'm losing it. I had a lining check this morning and it's only at a 5.5 (only increased 1mm since Thursday). I cried the entire drive to work today. I've read that inflammation/infection of the lining (that the biopsy is going to check for) can cause issues with the lining thickening - but if I can't get it up then they can't even do the biopsy to check. I feel so defeated and frustrated.
Any questions?: For those that have done IVF, what is your protocol to get your lining to thicken? My body is just not responding to vaginal estrace.
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? I was obsessed with ancient Egypt when I was in elementary school - so probably then!
@shoogapoff I'm so sorry for the week that you had last week. What an incredible amount of emotional stress and wear and tear on your heart strings. I do think it is great that you spoke up and switched doctor's within your practice and that your RE is really pulling for you guys. It sounds like he really is going above and beyond.
@feather_heather wow, my friend, I am so sorry. This is not the news you were hoping for, or any of us were hoping for for you. What has their insight been on your lining?
Diagnosis (if you've been): Secondary Unexplained IF
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): 50mg Clomid, Trigger, IUI #5, Progesterone
How are things going?: Ehhh... I'm really thinking that this cycle isn't the one. Of course, I am so hoping I am wrong, but I just have a feeling it didn't happen for us. I'm already preparing myself for a negative beta, which I guess is good because I need to keep my heart as safe as possible. I'm not giving up all hope but we'll know for sure in a few days, I guess!
Any questions?: Nope - I'll be following the answers to @feather_heather's question though, about thickening up the lining. Even though I'm not doing IVF.... I'm still looking for other things to talk to the RE about in regards to this topic.
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? The 50's.... simply because I LOVE the fashion. All of those beautiful dresses I think I was a 50's housewife in a past life time @feather_heather I've always been fascinated with ancient Egypt too! I'd love to go there someday.

How are things going?: I had my first follicle check on Sunday morning - estrogen level looked good, and I have 10 small follies on each side, so things are happening! (Also, TW I picked up my niece onto my hip last night without thinking and my body felt weird, so looks like I'm not picking her up again until March. )
Also - achievement unlocked last night, doing a Gonal-F shot at my ILs during the Superbowl. TW: the kids basically "outed" me. We quietly tried to just slip into my ILs bedroom to do the shot, had to walk past the kids playing. All of them were immediately interested, and we ended up in the bedroom with the door closed while my niece kept yelling for Auntie and my nephew kept asking what we were doing. We did the shot so freaking fast! Then after we finished it was like all bets were off, my MiL asked me how everything is going, and my SiL had lots of questions too. I fudged the info about a fresh transfer though, because I don't need her asking for beta updates.
Any questions?: Not currently.
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? I would love to go back to the Roman Empire! I have a degree in Classics, so I would love to see it in person. @kpearse99 - They haven't been too concerned (this cycle and last cycle) because they keep saying that it doesn't matter how long it takes to get it there during a frozen cycle - but my mental stability says otherwise! I'm still crossing my fingers so hard for you! Hoping we all get to celebrate a graduate on Friday!
@mvt2003 - Yay follies! Keep on growing! I'll get to talk to a PA later this afternoon and I'm really going to push hard on them changing something up because we had this same issue last cycle (except I was finally at a 7.5 by this point) - so something needs to change.
@inthewoods23 - I'm going to ask about that today! They've never even mentioned injections, but Dr. Google says that that is the most direct way to administer and the best absorption rate.
@feather_heather ahhhh that makes sense then. I see where they are coming from but I would also be feeling the exact same way as you! Hang in there my friend And thanks for the extra hopeful wishes
@inthewoods23 I'm so happy you're in such a good place right now Besides being super busy... but being busy at least makes the time and waiting fly by!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole, trigger shot, TI and progesterone post-O
How are things going?: I saw my RE on Thursday and it went well. She believes that even though I am responding really well to letrozole, my egg quality is probably not the best and that's why we just aren't getting KU and have had two early losses. 😔 I am feeling good about our plan moving forward. We are doing one more IUI, then moving on to IVF. We learned our copays won't amount to more that around $1,000, so we are happy about that. Our insurance will not coved the genetic screening and DH is on the fence about it. It will cost $2500 to cover the lab use and $250 per embryo. He doesn't want to spend the money since there's no guarantee.
Any questions?: Nah.
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? Hmm...probably a time with modern conveniences. I watched a documentary this weekend about Victorian life and it was gross. No. No, thank you!
@emeraldduchess I'm glad you have a plan in place, and hoping so hard that it's not needed!
I do see where YH is coming from - it's a lot of money for no guaranteed THB, and the clinic is already technically grading them. I wish insurance covered it, certainly, and I also wish I was doing it but MH is also against paying OOP for it.

@feather_heather I’m so sorry about the frustrating lining situation. I hope they’ll consider the injectables for you. Heaven forbid, If this issue continues and the biopsy doesn’t give you the answers you’re seeking, you may want to get a free consult with the doctors at Locus Medicus in Greece. They can recommend which additional tests to order to check for inflammation/infection. They test through samples you mail to them.
@kpearse99 Sorry you’re not feeling hopeful, but I hope you're wrong.🤞🏽Side note: What was your inspirational Mondays post going to be called, where we post uplifting memes/messages? We should get that going—I need it!😊
@mvt2003 That is a great number of follies!! And too funny about the kids being on spy duty. Glad you didn’t have to reveal all.
@inthewoods23 So exciting that it’s almost FET time! And SO happy to hear that you’ve scheduled your appointment to talk with a therapist. Good job, you made it happen.❤️
@emeraldduchess FX that this last IUI will be THE one & you won’t need to do IVF. But that copay is amazing! At least money isn’t a barrier to moving forward with that part of it.
Friends, I’m so sorry I’ve been mostly MIA lately! January was an insane month: tons of work trips and huge projects & deadlines, plus the app & my phone not working right. Finally back here with y’all!💗
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched. We did the hysteroscopy before ovulation, about to do the biopsy after ovulation.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): So the biopsy is coming up to see if my lining grows correctly after ovulation. Also to double check for inflammation/infection. The hysteroscopy showed no signs of either but did show I have a bicornuate uterus so I need to have that fixed before we can try again.
How are things going?: Not great. Being benched is a VERY hard feeling to sit with. How do you cope? After the hysteroscopy I swore I’d get back involved here on TTGP/IF, but the anesthesia made me sleep for the entire next day. Then the doctor called saying I need an MRI & a surgery to correct my uterus shape, & I just kind of sank down into despair. I’m already seriously pushing it age-wise, now we have to wait to schedule the surgery, then wait to heal, & pray there’s no scar tissue, etc. I was also floored that my many previous ultrasounds, saline sono, and in-depth hour-long ultrasounds didn’t find this problem earlier. Just feeling a bit down, I guess.
Any questions?: Had anyone had their uterus shape corrected with surgery?
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? I’m a history buff so I’d love to visit all the times you all listed in the past. But I’d really love to see Africa at its height of success & world leadership in math, science, spiritual & religious dispersion, expanding gold trade, etc. All we hear now is how Africa needs so much help, but those countries used to be the center of the modern world’s developments. I’d love to see that in action.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), TI, & Progesterone after O.
How are things going?: Doing pretty well...we had a great weekend, so I’m in a pretty good mood even though it’s Monday and I’m sleepy! Haha. I’m still hopeful but trying to be realistic about this cycle! I plan on testing next Monday or Tuesday (haven’t decided yet), so I guess only time will tell! I know it’s been said before, but TTC is an endless series of waiting!! I hope we can all move on to the next stage very soon (even though that requires a long period of waiting)!!
Any questions?: None right now.
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? I was going to say the 1800’s to see all the beautiful dresses until I read @emeraldduchess ‘s comment about modern conveniences! 😐 I think I’ll go with the 50’s or 60’s so I could see my grandparents/parents at a younger age!!
@feather_heather I’m so sorry for the frustration with your lining...that has to be so disheartening even though they aren’t concerned as long as it gets there eventually! I hope asking about injections or upping dosage will help!
@kpearse99 oh friend, I’m gonna keep up hope and the October hype for you!!
I totally understand though, you have to protect your heart! I have everything possible crossed that this is your month!!
@mvt2003 yay for a great follie check!! Sorry you were “outed” at he party, but I’m glad you were able to somewhat share/not share what you wanted!
@inthewoods23 glad you are doing well! Great job on contacting a therapist, I hope you find comfort in those visits!
@emeraldduchess I’m still hopeful that this cycle will work for you!! But I’m glad you have a plan in place going forward that you feel comfortable with!
@keikilove I’m so sorry for everything you have been through lately and that you are now benched awaiting surgery!! How long do the estimate recovery would take after the surgery? That does seem crazy that they didn’t find the bicornuate uterus in all the prior scans! Sending you all the hugs & positive vibes to get through this waiting period!! 💜
@keikilove wait is that like the "two uteruses" thing? Because I was just watching a YouTuber who did a react video for some mini series about strange pregnancies and one lady was pregnant in both uteruses. Like speak of the devil! Have you gotten any information of what the surgery entails? I really really hope it doesn't bench you for too long!
@emeraldduchess give yourself some time to decide. I think we had to agree to do it before we started the ER cycle. So there's no day before deciding that yes please send them for testing. As always, do what feels right to you!

@inthewoods23 It’s one of those weird ones that “affects 3% of the population”. Mine is the heart-shaped uterus, apparently. I don’t know how they fix it and not sure yet how long the recovery is. They’ll call me today to schedule my MRI, then schedule the operating room for some days after that.
@keikilove I'm so sorry, friend. One of my friends found out she has a bicornate uterus after she got KU, she also has the heart shaped one. Obviously it wasn't time to fix it for her, and not sure if she will have to. I do know her MC rate was higher than "normal" because of it so she was very nervous throughout the pregnancy. @emeraldduchess Sorry I don't recall the answer to this, but do you already have embryos frozen? Just wondering because depending on how many you have, PGS screening might not even be appropriate. My RE didn't want to do it (and we agreed) because we only had three mature embryos and that wasn't enough to risk losing some in the process and I didn't have any genetic issues we were concerned about, "just" egg quality issues. I'm not sure how true this statement is but TW - reference to successful FET in spoiler:
After finding out my FET was successful, I asked my RE if I needed to be concerned about MC because of my egg quality (crappy) and loss history. She told me no, because the meds I used took care of the egg quality issues. Since the meds were stimulating my pituitary glad and making it do what it needed to do to produce good eggs, I was, in fact, producing good eggs. So egg quality may not be as big if an issue for you during an IVF cycle, as it would be during a non-IVF cycle.
Obviously talk to your RE, because maybe mine is crazy? But her protocol worked for me, so... 🤷♀️
@keikilove glad you can get the surgery done soon and not have a long wait!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Birth control for 2 weeks
How are things going?: Trying to take this just a step at a time
Any questions?: Okay, so after BC the nurse said we start a FSH drug right away if cyst has shrunk, so does that mean CD1 would be the day after I stop BC? Trying to figure out what timing would be if cyst shrinks, if it doesn't I think the plan is to go off BC and be benched a cycle. And what does a cyst mean? Is it another symptom of PCOS or just a reaction to the gonal f last cycle? s tGTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? I think the 1800's. I know they are romanticized, but there is something about the wide open spaces of the West that calls to me.
@feather_heather I am sorry to hear your lining isn't responding. I don't have any tips to offer, but I do have the infection of the lining and once diagnosed it is treated with ABX. I hope you don't have it just so you can move on quicker with the process.
@shoogapoff So sorry for your loss! It sounds like a tough emotional week all around. I hope you treat yourself and YH with kindness this week. Feel all the feels, take a deep breath.
@kpearse99 What day is beta? Keeping my fx crossed for you but I know it is so hard to not start counting yourself out by the end of the TWW.
@mvt2003 Yay for good follie check! Way to start off the cycle!
@inthewoods23 Good that you got an appointment to see a therapist! I hate doing emissions tests, good luck!
@emeraldduchess Its good you have a game plan even if it is still a cycle or two out from now. Hopefully one of the IUIs work and you don't need to even make the decision about genetic testing. Curious though, how does the RE think the egg quality will improve with a retrieval? Is there something you can do to improve egg quality for the IUI?
@keikilove With as hard as it is to hear the tough news about the uterus shape, I hope you that you can find hope that there is an answer and that all could go smoothly after the surgery. Hope the MRI goes well and that everything gets scheduled soon! And I don't have an answer on how to handle being benched well. I am in the same benched boat and it is disappointing and frustrating. I will say doing things I can't do while TTC helps (ie horseback riding, scuba diving, drinking, jacuzzi) but it is still not the same. I know there have been some ladies on this IF thread in the past that had that same surgery. If I find them I will tag them for a reply.
@bluetickgal Yay for a good weekend and for feeling good on a Monday!
@ramzlau beta is this Friday! I don't have any answers or advice for you, but I do have hope that these new protocols will do the trick for ya!

@bluetickgal apparently I missed you before! We must have posted at the same time. I was going to say time never moves fast enough with all the waiting! 😆
@ramzlau cysts I think can form for any reason. I think they are more common with PCOS, but don't quote me on that since I don't have PCOS. Usually with BC, CD1 counts as the day you have your withdrawal bleed, but maybe with your case with this cyst it doesn't matter since you're sitting out a cycle?

@bluetickgal I'm so hopeful for you this cycle! @keikilove I'm so sorry for your news. I can't imagine. I hope you can get good answers from others who have been there! @feather_heather Not sure if this is helpful or not, but my doctor told me that the more follicles I have, the more estrogen my body will naturally produce. So my lining will thicken on its own with a better response to meds. I had a thin lining on clomid, and freaked out. But since being on injectables and letrozole, I've had a good lining. So I guess he was right. @mvt2003 tasty for a great follicle count! @emeraldduchess I'm glad you're getting concrete answers and developing a plan moving forward. @inthewoods23 I always feel like I have a million tabs open in my browser and can't remember to do all the little things! @kpearse99 Thank you so much for your kind words. I have everything crossed for you! @ramzlau I'm sorry you're benched. I don't have any advice, unfortunately, but just want to acknowledge that it sucks.
Diagnosis (if you've been): blocked tube, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TTA, I guess?
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I'll spare you the super long update that I provided in last week's IF thread. We're waiting to see if IVF is approved by my insurance, so I'm on bcp until we have an answer
How are things going?: I feel completely defeated. I don't know how we got here. I have no reason for any tubal blockage, and yet, the dr thinks that's what I have. TMI, but MH and I were virgins when we married, so we have no risk of STI's, which are the primary culprit for tube issues. I specifically asked if I could have asymptomatic endometriosis, and the dr rejected that idea. So I'm left wondering what the he** is wrong with my body.
Any questions?: No questions. But just want to commiserate with the other ladies who are on bcp. It's a huge mind f*** to be on them.
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? Maybe the middle ages? If I'm just visiting and not living there, I think it'd be an interesting time to see.
@kpearse99 I’m sorry you’re having a bummy week. That’s how I was a few weeks ago, if you want to chat I’m here!
@feather_heather I’m sorry you’re struggling with your lining thickening. Hopefully you will be able to get some answers as to what you can do to help that along!
@mvt2003 that follicle count is great! Lots of hope there for little emby babes!
@inthewoods23 I’m so glad you’re in such great spirits! That’s the way to be! Positive vibes always help! Also, I love going to therapy. It’s nice to b*tch to a non biased 3rd party about things going on in life!
@emeraldduchess sounds like you have a solid plan for the next few months! Fingers crossed for you that you won’t have to go onto IVF, but at least it’s an option. And that’s great news regarding your copays!
@keikilove I’m sorry that you’re going through all of that, that’s just cause to be MIA. Hopefully things work out and you won’t have to be benched much longer!
@bluetickgal keep up the good attitude! That’s great! And the waiting games do suck!
@ramzlau ugh sorry you have to sit this one out. Hopefully those cysts are gone sooner rather than later!
@shoogapoff I’m sorry you’re feeling so defeated. It is strange to have blocked tubes when there have been no risks. Have you considered maybe bringing up the idea of endo again to the doc?

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): our last cycle before we begin Femara and Trigger shot with IUI. Although, on day3 when i go for my baseline U/S I have to go for the SONOHYSTOGRAM to rule out polyps before I can even think about the IUI. 😒
How are things going?: they’re going. I’ve been nauseous the last couple of nights and I have One sore boob. Not getting hopes up, chalking it up to PMS.
Any questions?: uhhhh none that I can think of right now

Hey ladies! Just re-intro'd in the newbie thread but know a bunch of you from a few months ago before I took a Bump break. I'm not totally up on where everyone is with testing but will try to catch up!
@feather_heather I'm so sorry your lining isn't responding! @kpearse99 I'm sorry you're not feeling good about this cycle! Fingers crossed for you! @mvt2003 Ahh that sounds stressful but glad you managed to do it with everyone around! Yay for your follicles! @inthewoods23 Ooh yay for a therapist appt, I remember you talking about maybe doing that a few months ago! Such a great thing to do for yourself if you're able to. @emeraldduchess Glad you're feeling good about your plan and that the copays won't be bad! I understand where you're H is coming from re: the extra cost of screening...wish everything was just covered though! @keikilove I'm so sorry about the hysteroscopy result! I hope the MRI and surgery doesn't take up too much time, did they give you a sense of how long you'll have to be benched? Also extremely frustrated for you that they threw this major piece of info at you after all your previous tests! Seriously folks??!! @bluetickgal - FX for you this cycle! @shoogapoff - So sorry you're feeling defeated and that your doctor didn't seem very interested in examining the possibility of endometriosis! Could you get a second opinion? @abarr723 Best of luck with the sonohystogram in a few days! Although I'll keep my fingers crossed your symptoms right now aren't PMS!
Diagnosis (if you've been): working on that right now! We've been trying since July 2018, I had estradiol, FSH and progesterone tested a year ago (all fine) and we're doing more testing now.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched till end of March - Zika precaution
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): SO just had an SA last week which came back normal, I'm waiting for AMH results and have a u/s tomorrow. If everything is okay with those I think our plan is to try IUI in April or May. I think we will not be doing an HSG at this point because it would be pretty $$ with our insurance and it seems more cost-effective to try IUI first. Also from what I understand (?) a tube blockage detected by HSG pretty much means you're going to IVF (right?), and I don't think we're planning to go the IVF route anyway.
How are things going?: Pretty good, I'm glad we're in February (both because January always seems to last like 6 months and also because our benched period is rolling along quicker than I expected so that's nice). A little annoyed my AMH result hasn't come in yet.
Any questions?: For our SA results, our doctor just told us they were "normal" -- no numbers re: sperm count, morphology etc. Did other people get more detailed results?
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? I like the 1960s. Lots of interesting stuff going on in the US, I could go visit my parents growing up, plus Mad Men fashion.
@whitealbum29 So happy to see you back! We did get a very detailed lab report, but the results got pushed to our medical portal app even before the doctor called us. I'm hopeful for you guys, and keeping FX that IUI does the trick!!!

@whitealbum29 lol yes I FINALLY talked to our EAP and then took over a month to finally contact a therapist after I dragged my butt on narrowing the list down. Yes a blocked tube will usually send you straight to IVF. The HSG is actually one of the first tests I had done after they did a few progesterone checks. I don't recall if my OB went into detail with our SA besides going through the low morph when he called me with the result, but we can see a copy of the report in our patient portal. Do you have a portal where you can check your records?

@feather_heather Oh man, that is so frustrating. I am so sorry that you are dealing with that right now, just trying to get testing done. FX that something happens soon so you can get the testing taken care of. *hugs*
@kpearse99 Still holding out hope for you girl! I am hoping that this is your cycle. Agreed on that trial, which is a bummer. Wish they would give you more info so you could know if you were truly interested before you waste your time.
@mvt2003 Grow follies grow! Really great start with those numbers. Hoping that all progress nicely so that you have a great ER. You are a super hero for doing your shots like that. I would have been a mess!
@inthewoods23 Your list sounds like mine. I also need to go and get meds, and renew my license plate, and , and.... I hope that things settle down soon for you and that your appointment with the therapist goes well.
@emeraldduchess Great news about the copay. Really helps. How do you feel about the genetic testing? I know there are lots of different opinions out there on it. FX that this IUI is your magic one though.
@keikilove Oh my friend. I am sending you all the strength right now. I can only imagine how tough this news must be for you. You have been through so much. It is just not fair. I am truly surprised that this was not picked up sooner. And being benched on top of that. Sigh. Try and find some distractions, find something you can focus on while you are waiting. But know that we are here for you every step of the way. FX that you are able to get the surgery done soon.
@ramzlau Hope you get some answers. I would call the nurses line and ask, if you are able to.
@shoogapoff That is very frustrating. I know not an option for many, but are you able to get a second opinion? Unless you have complete faith in your RE. Our bodies can do really strange and sometimes wonderful things though. Not everything can be explained. *hugs*
@whitealbum29 Welcome back! We did get a detailed report for the SA test. You should be able to ask your RE for a copy. Interesting that you are going to IUI before having an HSG. It was mandatory at our clinic to do that first before moving forward with any procedures as a precaution. And to ensure that you were not wasting time and money.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET prep starts Sunday
How are things going?: Other than being really busy, things are good. MH is away on work so I had a very quiet weekend of crocheting and binge watching "The Good Place" and a few other shows. There was ugly crying involved. Finished my pouf for the living room and working on a hat now. Trying to make better food choices, so I bought cookies and then tested my willpower all weekend. Still unopened! Also will potentially be doing a second instructor training so that I teach spin at the gym as well. Stay tuned on that. Basically just trying to not focus on the FET and keep busy in other areas.
Any questions?:
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why? Can I go to the future and figure out if I ever get my THB? I think I would visit them all. But wearing a big fancy dress would be fun for a bit.
@keikilove thanks friend! Hope you can schedule surgery soon and the recovery won’t be bad or take too long!
@ramzlau I like your attitude of taking it one step at a time, that’s all we can do! I hope your time on the bench will go by quickly!
@inthewoods23 no worries friend! I know, right?! I hate wishing my life away...but the constant waiting gets so old!
@shoogapoff thanks friend!! I’m so sorry you are going through this and there is no explanation as to why! Sending so many hugs your way...this sucks! 💜 I’m crossing everything that your RE will work his magic and get your insurance to cover IVF!!
@abarr723 enjoy the not tracking!! Fingers crossed those are not PMS symptoms!!
@whitealbum29 thanks lady! Welcome back!! I hope you had an awesome time in Costa Rica! I’m glad you have gotten started on testing and everything has come back normal so far...hopefully the rest does too! I hope the next 2 months fly by so you can start your IUI cycle!
@nitnat007 thanks friend! Yay for FET prep starting this weekend! Sounds like you have lots to keep your mind off of it though, that’s great! The Good Place is one of my favorite shows...we watched the final episode last week, it was so good but bittersweet! I’m going to miss it and have already said we’ll have to re-watch it eventually! Have you finished it yet?
@bluetickgal I did finish it. I had stopped somewhere in season three since MH doesn't watch it. So watched nothing but that for almost two days. It was glorious. And yes, the finale was very bittersweet. Lots of sad moments, but I think it ended in exactly the right way.
@nitnat007 I totally agree...it ended at the right time and was done in the right way! Also, I had no clue what a pouf was until you posted it in the crafting thread, but I love it!! Looks awesome!
@mvt2003 - Thank you, FX for you too!!! So glad to finally see your IVF Feb 2020 in your signature! You're doin' it! @inthewoods23 - Definitely a decision it makes sense to take some time with! I hope the person you found is great! Yeah with my other tests it's been detailed on the patient portal, with "your level of x hormone is y" and "the various normal/abnormal ranges are xyz" but for this it just says "normal." I might ask about it...I like to have lots of info! @kpearse99 - hiiiii!!!! I've missed you! I would of course prefer to be stalking you on a BMB right now, but it's good to see you! I'm asking about the AMH tomorrow when I go in for the U/S! @nitnat007 - yeah in general I would prefer to do all the testing possible but in our case it seems like it makes sense to try IUI since it's relatively inexpensive compared to the HSG. Glad you are keeping busy to keep your mind occupied. Oh wow you're a spin instructor? I did spin for a couple years and was always amazed at how the instructors could still talk to the class/give instructions while cycling! It seems like a fun job!
*lurking* @whitealbum29 I just want to chime in to say that blocked tubes doesn’t necessarily mean ivf. It’s possible to unblock the tubes—sometimes the pressure when testing can clear them, but there’s also laparoscopy (surgery). It’s not ideal to work with tubes that had been blocked since they may end up with sacs that increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy, and surgery does create possible scar tissues, so ivf may definitely be suggested to bypass that, but ivf isn’t necessarily the route that everyone has to take. It is definitely possible to get pregnant without ivf post-surgery for blocked tubes. Or with just one good tube, for that matter. I hope everything works out with the iui and it makes this post totally useless, but just wanted you to know that there might be more options than you think. ❤️ I hope it’s ok to have posted this. And I hope you had an awesome vacation!
I went in for monitoring this morning, the tech told me I have 3 follies on my left and 6 on my right all measuring above 11mm!
I've been feeling uncomfortable since yesterday (bloaty, and just kind of crampy and full) so I feel happy that there's a reason for it haha. I wore jeans to my appointment, and by the end of the car ride, I realized pants are not happening for work for me today. I'm officially wearing dresses until retrieval I think. I'm really forgetful and clumsy right now too (I knocked over my full Yeti cup of water last night, and I apparently came really close to accidentally stabbing myself in the arm with the Gonal-F needle MH was holding too )

@whitealbum29 I am currently a BodyPump Instructor, but wanting add a second discipline and do spin as well. Talking continually while working out is definitely a challenge, you almost have to relearn how to breathe. I really enjoy it and it is a great deal of fun.
AFM, I do have a question to put forward to all of my IVF ladies. And perhaps some of our grads/experts can weight in too. So my situation is our local clinic somehow is out of PIO and wont be getting any back in until April. Which is too late for our FET cycle. Our options would be to go with the 'pearls' (which I have done on both my fresh cycles) or I can order from a different compound pharmacy. Added hassle, but I can make it work. What are the feelings on doing the PIO vs the pearls, on any transfer really? Our pharmacist said that PIO is the gold standard for a FET. However when I asked the question to our local FB group, one said that it wasn't worth the extra hassle or the added discomfort and just stick to the pearls. Thoughts?
@mvt2003 that's a great update!!!! Grow follies!!!

@ruby696 we haven't started the IVF process, so no frozen embryos yet. I don't remember what my RE said about whether she reccomends fresh vs. frozen. My head is still spinning. @mvt2003 woohoo!! Grow follies, grow!! So excited that you're responding well. @feather_heather I am so sorry that your results weren't what you were hoping for. I can only imagine the frustration. Sending so many hugs! @kpearse99 sorry you're feeling down about this cycle. That's how I am feeling too. Hugs, friend.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Biopsy and ERA testing
@feather_heather wow, my friend, I am so sorry. This is not the news you were hoping for, or any of us were hoping for for you. What has their insight been on your lining?
Diagnosis (if you've been): Secondary Unexplained IF

All of those beautiful dresses I think I was a 50's housewife in a past life time
@feather_heather I've always been fascinated with ancient Egypt too!

@inthewoods23 I'm so happy you're in such a good place right now Besides being super busy... but being busy at least makes the time and waiting fly by!

I do see where YH is coming from - it's a lot of money for no guaranteed THB, and the clinic is already technically grading them. I wish insurance covered it, certainly, and I also wish I was doing it but MH is also against paying OOP for it.

for you. Heaven forbid, If this issue continues and the biopsy doesn’t give you the answers you’re seeking, you may want to get a free consult with the doctors at Locus Medicus in Greece. They can recommend which additional tests to order to check for inflammation/infection. They test through samples you mail to them.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle?
@emeraldduchess give yourself some time to decide. I think we had to agree to do it before we started the ER cycle. So there's no day before deciding that yes please send them for testing. As always, do what feels right to you!

Obviously talk to your RE, because maybe mine is crazy? But her protocol worked for me, so... 🤷♀️

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched for cyst
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Birth control for 2 weeks
How are things going?: Trying to take this just a step at a time
Any questions?: Okay, so after BC the nurse said we start a FSH drug right away if cyst has shrunk, so does that mean CD1 would be the day after I stop BC? Trying to figure out what timing would be if cyst shrinks, if it doesn't I think the plan is to go off BC and be benched a cycle. And what does a cyst mean? Is it another symptom of PCOS or just a reaction to the gonal f last cycle?

tGTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why?

@mvt2003 that follicle count is great! Lots of hope there for little emby babes!
Dx: 1/2020 Borderline PCOS
Rx: Femara &Trigger with IUI
IUI#1 2/26/2020- BETA 3/11 (AF arrived 3/11)
3/20/2020- Benched due to COVID-19
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW I think? Since we started seeing the RE I admittedly have stopped tracking, and according to my app, I’m in the TWW.
Any questions?: uhhhh none that I can think of right now
GTKY: If you had a time machine, what time period would you visit, and why?
hmmm, maybe something cool like Greece when they were doing the original Olympics. I know most of it was quite barbaric, but it was probably incredible!

@bluetickgal Rooting for you!
*hugs*
@abarr723 Good luck on your baseline appt.
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, MFI (low morph, acrosome defect)
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Who knows......

Thoughts?

@ruby696 we haven't started the IVF process, so no frozen embryos yet. I don't remember what my RE said about whether she reccomends fresh vs. frozen. My head is still spinning.
@mvt2003 woohoo!! Grow follies, grow!! So excited that you're responding well.
