Re: Healthy Habits Check-in w/o 2/3

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions do you have for yourself this year? Or which goal(s) are you focusing on this week?
Keeping as gluten and dairy free as possible! And to do 15-20 minute sessions of yoga 2-3 times a week. Getting my behind if therapy and improving my mental health

    How's everything going?
Good! I meal planned a bit for this week so we have options. Still have yet to get into the yoga habit but I think I just need to force myself to do it. Even if it's a quick 5 minute one! And I got my first therapy appointment scheduled so lots of excitement lately

What has you motivated or struggling this week?
I'm feeling much more confident with the diet although I still worry that I'm not reading ingredient lists properly on packaging 😬 that's my anxiety screaming that if I screw up then no baby

What questions/help do you have/need to help you achieve your habits, goals, and resolutions?
I think I'm actually good for once! No questions!

What's a "small win" you have from last week?
Getting that therapy appointment scheduled. That's more like a major win to be honest!

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions do you have for yourself this year? Or which goal(s) are you focusing on this week? On weight watchers and getting back into running.

How's everything going? Down 6 lbs last month, but not doing great with running in January.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? I seem to either be able to eat healthy or run, but not both. I'm struggling with staying motivated to work on both aspects of being healthy.

What questions/help do you have/need to help you achieve your habits, goals, and resolutions? It is helpful hearing about what other people are doing, helps to keep me motivated knowing I am not alone.

What's a "small win" you have from last week? Ran 4 times! They mostly weren't long, but I did it.

@inthewoods23 That is awesome you were able to schedule the appointment! I hope it is really helpful for you!

  • I guess no one is working on healthy habits this week but us @fitzfizz 😆

I've been really good so far this week. Bedtime yoga on Tuesday and 2 days of meditation (thanks to @keikilove's recommendation)! I haven't felt much improvement, but it needs time to do its magic.

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions do you have for yourself this year? Or which goal(s) are you focusing on this week?
I focusing on getting back working out and trying to stop snacking so much.
    How's everything going?
Bad if I’m honest I’m so disappointed and frustrated with myself. I feel really uncomfortable with my body but have just been struggling to get it in check.
What has you motivated or struggling this week?
I would like to lose 20 -25 lbs by our anniversary at the end of March.
What questions/help do you have/need to help you achieve your habits, goals, and resolutions?
How are you staying on track nutrition wise what has helped?
What's a "small win" you have from last week?

Drank my protein shake this morning instead of eating a bunch of crap.
  • @inthewoods23. Didn't meal plan this weekend, so it has been a rough week with almost no veggies!  Thanks for the reminder that I need to make this a priority!
  • @inthewoods23 It looks like we are no longer alone! I hope the yoga and meditation do their thing for you.

@allthingscozy I have learned that for me, not snacking doesn't seem to work. However, if I stay stocked up on carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, and cut up apples I do well with snacking on those. Best of luck!

@dobiemom11 Good luck getting some more veggies in today!
  • @allthingscozy one thing that can help snacking is to put it in a bowl and eat from there (if it were chips or something). Another good technique is to just eat slower. Each 1 piece at a time, even if it's candy like an M&M. Sometimes you can satisfy your snacking but just taking a long time to do it. DH and I did a program called Naturally Slim that shows you different techniques to help you lose weight - big plus is there's really no cutting out the foods you love. I'll have to see if I can find the old booklet and such so you can read the tips!

@dobiemom11 the meal planning went really well for us this week. We knew we'd be out today and Tuesday for dinner plans so I just needed ideas for 3 days.

So an interesting update has occurred related to the new diet. Yesterday I noticed I was on my last belt hole and normally I'm at the next hole up or 2 so of course I'm like, has this really been bloat this whole time?? And! I looked at my profile in the mirror and DH said I looked skinnier. Says he noticed when he hugged me earlier because he could wrap his arms around even further. He then proceeded to hug me around the chest and I'm like "you know size doesn't change there right??" If you try something on and the bust is too small, there's no losing weight in that area cuz of your rib cage. And maybe TMI, but I am going #2 less. It's once maybe twice a day now and before I was probably doing that every other time I used the bathroom.

With all of that I am seriously wondering if I do have some slight gluten or dairy intolerance/sensitivity considering the changes I've already seen in the 2 weeks I've mostly followed the diet. Maybe things will look much more promising come round 2 😉 cuz you know I will want to come back here!

  • @inthewoods23 ok I like that idea I’m going to try it thanks!

Feeling sore but good today! Went to visit my parents and grandparents at the RV show today and they were having mini donuts ( a personal favorite) I resisted and didn’t even feel very tempted! Yay for non scale victories
  • Wow that sounds like a lot of success for both of you!

@inthewoods23. I love that idea of eating one at a time.  How often am I just eating because I am bored or something like that?  I would eat less if I slowed down.  I am also trying to drink a glass of water when I am really hungry.  Sometimes I am more thirsty than hungry and that can satisfy it.  I am super impressed with you and the diet changes you made.  Those are both difficult ones and you tackled two at once.  Good for you!

@allthingscozy. Donuts are my Kryptonite, so major kudos for you avoiding them.

Alright- new plan for next week is better meal planning and more roasted veggies!
  • @dobiemom11 yes! I used to think I was always hungry around 10am but if I have some kind of beverage in the morning at work I find I'm not actually hungry, just thirsty. Often times they say when you feel hungry you are actually dehydrated, hence why you can drink something and feel "tied over" and not feel like you're starving.

@dobiemom11 I’ll join you in better meal planing by cooking a crap ton of chicken this weekend haha

also I’ve been trying to do intermittent fasting (totally failed tonight btw) but not eating after 4pm (when I go to work) and not before 8am. It’s been helping curb evening post work overeating
