QOTW: Ummmm i have all kinds of random crap in my Purse. Normal purse stuff like my wallet, a million pens, chapsticks. Also my stethoscope, people snacks, dog treats, poop bags, and i was walking around with 2 rubber ducks that came in my drink at the bar for a long time lol.

Any Rants/Raves from this past week? Tell us about it! So today was my follow with the RE post testing. Today was my follow up appointment with the fertility clinic. the RE said she’s not completely convinced I have PCOS, because of the number of Follicles, 21, she would say more borderline. So I guess that’s my official diagnosis. My HSG showed that I may have 2 polyps. I will go for a Sonohystogram at the beginning of my next cycle to verify. And if I do, then i will have a hysteroscopy to remove them. In the mean time i will start femara as well as baseline u/s day 3 with my next cycle to start juicing up my follies with monitoring, and then a trigger shot and IUI once they are if appropriate size. I’m a little bummed that there may be another obstacle, but glad to be moving forward.

@2dogsmom please update my dx to borderline PCOS and my Tx to Femara with Trigger and IUI. Thank you!

Hope you all are having a good week!

  • QOTW: I have so many things in my purse... honestly so many times I get so overwhelmed with it I don’t even bring a purse with me. But generally chapstick, sunglasses, tissues, keys, migraine meds, pens, gift cards, a granola bar (or two), bandaids, etc.

@abarr723 best of luck with this next cycle! Hoping you can breeze right through Polyp free.

I started my cycle on Saturday and went in for baselines on Monday. They found a 2.87mm cyst in my right ovary and a few small cysts in my left ovary. They were thinking we may have to call off the cycle due to the size but blood work came back normal so our RE is letting us proceed!! My RE is a little worried about the large cyst so they are going to do an ultrasound with dye so they can get a better understanding of size and shape next week when I do my follicle check. Started on a higher dose of Femara today so fingers crossed.

Any advice on how to handle friends announcing BFPs? I have a bunch of pregnant friends right now and two of my close friends told me they were pregnant over the weekend. Historically, I have always been able to separate my friends from my situation and been very happy for them but this time I felt super defeated... I then started to feel even worse for making it about me and being a bad friend. I kept it together on the outside so they never knew what I was thinking but I still felt horrible. Any advice on how to not get caught up in the “why me” thinking??
  • @abarr723 sorry you are dealing with uncertainty (I can sure relate to that) but hopefully the IUI cycle will work for you!  For some reason the bump has stopped letting me update posts, but I will update it for next week's for sure!! Sorry to hear about the polyps, but at least you made it through the HSG and have more info. And hopefully they won't be a problem!

@nina205 sorry to hear about the cyst but glad they are letting you proceed this cycle. Fingers crossed for you!  As for how to handle the BFP announcements, it's hard! I think everyone handles stuff a little differently, but here's my advice: 1) Tell your close friends about your IF treatments etc., that way if they do announce a BFP they might give you a heads up and do it more gently with you. 2) It is totally okay to take care of yourself by staying away from it when you need to. Some days I'm totally good and can handle going to a baby shower or looking at pics of my friend's 3 month old, other days I can't. It took me over a year of IF before I realized that I didn't have to do those things out of social obligation -- I was honest with my friends and they understood when I couldn't be there (physically or emotionally).   That said, I've chosen not to tell a ton of people about our IF struggles because I tend to be a fairly private person. My work is FULL of pregnant people (people are joking "there must be something in the water") and we've had 3 more announcements in the last few weeks. I smile and congratulate them and am happy for them, but I don't hang around and participate in lots of baby talk. Instead I go hand with my couple of close friends who know what I'm going through and know when to change the subject so I don't cry! Giving myself space has helped me focus on our plan and what I need to do next for the BFP and helped me stay calmer.  That, and venting here and with my close friends.

AFM -- I'm in holding pattern this week waiting anxiously for AF to start so we can get the IVF show on the road. Lots of logistics with setting appointments and stuff, but not a ton else going on at the moment IF wise for me.

QOTW: I try not to carry a purse most days. My phone has a hidden compartment that fits my license, insurance card, and a credit card so I usually roll with just that. However, when I do have a purse it always seems to have a million hair ties in it....it's like they multiply in there!
