Re: Week 1 Check-In w/o 1/27/2020

  • Sorry, no idea why this is huge and bold or if it just looks that way on my end.. The app won’t let me fix my font!

    EDD/weeks+days:
    8+5

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:
Undecided whether or not we will be Team Green. Leaning towards finding out now...

Baby is the size of a(n):
    Wild strawberry

    Upcoming appointments:
Next Monday and then another the following week with MFM for a u/s and testing.

    How are you feeling?
Not good! Super nauseated basically 24/7, exhausted, sooooo painfully constipated, no appetite, actually not even thirsty which is not fun. Getting a little fluffy in the belly. This is technically my 7th pregnancy.

    Raves/Rants:
I just want to be thirsty and have something sound good. Also, tested positive for Strep B and they basically said they’re just going to treat me during delivery and not even check again.  :( Just bummed because last time I was so anxious about making it to the hospital in time to get both bags. I didn’t.. only got 1 before it was time to push.

    Questions:
Anyone else’s practice do it this way ^^^^ I always thought they didn’t check for this until a couple weeks before due dates?

    GTKY:  What is your hobby?

Love watching sports with my family even though I really don’t love sports. Taking pictures of my kids.

  • @chasingroygbiv Just peaking in to ask "why are you yelling at everyone"  ;) It's pretty funny.

Also, group B strep is checked in third trimester, about 5 weeks out from delivery. If you check any sooner and it's negative you have to recheck just to make sure you didn't contract it. They may have checked earlier in you because of your history.

Two Furbabies: Mika (american eskimo) and Gypsy (wire-haired terrier, dachshund mix)

Twins: Kaiden and Zara born 10/2018 conceived after 6 years of infertility via a medicated IUI

  • EDD/weeks+days: Sept 2nd; 8+5

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out. I did the sneak peek test today, but I am pretty sure I will not believe the result until the doctor confirms.

Baby is the size of a(n): cherry (in a couple days)

Upcoming appointments: 2/3 for viability ultrasound 2/7 for intake

How are you feeling? Usually awful. Today has been a really okay day though so that is amazing.

Raves/Rants: Not really a rant or rave, but funny. My 2.5yo told me my boobs were beautiful today. Since they have gotten so large he has been very interested in rubbing them when I pick him up.  :D

    Questions: None

GTKY:  What is your hobby? Watching TV, organizing, and walking the aisles of TJ Maxx or Marshalls.

  • @linz36 I’m just making sure everyone can hear me!  :D Darn app.

Oddly enough this happened in my last pregnancy, too, and I had never had Strep B with my others (and usually wasn’t checked until 36-37 weeks with them. So just think this is really strange, especially since they didn’t check me at the end of my last pregnancy.

@Louise_Belcher send some of those feel good moments my way!
  • @chasingroygbiv Sending them your way!! I have my fingers crossed for some more consistent okay days going forward.

EDD/weeks+days: 9w1d officially moved from embryo to fetus

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): tater tot, cherry, blackberry, green olive, thimble

Upcoming appointments: Had my dating US today. I need to schedule NT scan and bloodwork. I have my next prenatal visit 2/21

How are you feeling? nauseous and hungry at the same time, tired, peeing a lot, thirsty, lots of CM

Raves/Rants: DH and I joined a small group at church and I was looking forward to going, but it looks like we may not be able attend. We went to the 1st meeting yesterday and we were there for almost 3hrs. I started at 630pm and we didn't leave until 9pm. They have childcare, but that's still too late for DS. Poor kid was soo exhausted after being up for so long. I don't think that it's going to work for our schedule, and we just can't afford a babysitter right now. It's a shame because I was looking forward to getting to know people at our new church

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is your hobby? Love TV and movies. I used to like to craft- knit and such, but I don't have time anymore with DS

  • @Louise_Belcher I felt bad. I didn't want to rush the group leader he was telling us his testimony, but c'mon man! We were the last group to leave last night. I'm hoping maybe I can join the moms group. It's in the morning.

Coming over from week 2 since we're combining the week 1 and 2.

    EDD/weeks+days: 8w1d/ Sept. 8

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): a small strawberry

Upcoming appointments: Jan 30th. Ultrasound #2 and thyroid check (I'm hypothyroid)

How are you feeling? Actually not too bad this past week. The nausea has reduced a lot. But the boobs are extremely sore and I feel like I've gone up a cup size in last week or so!

Raves/Rants: Rave and Rant:  I've been watching what I'm eating the last couple of days and I've felt soooo much better! It's really helped with the bloating and constipation. Now I just need to get back to working out. I signed up for an unlimited membership at a barre class at the beginning of Jan and I've been ONE time!

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is your hobby?   Watching TV/movies. That's it right now. But hope to get back to writing and exercising soon.

@CarbAddict - I hear you on the gym! I bought a workout calendar and everything! Lol. Also, as far as the job, it really depends on the company. Some companies let you get maternity leave after 6 months and some it's a year. I think FMLA is after a year, but that may differ from company to company too.

@macheno - that's late! Hopefully he was just feeling the spirit and was being long winded. Lol.

  • @31magnolia I am hypothyroid too. I suppose I should tell my reg doc. I really hadn't even thought about it.

  • @Louise_Belcher - Yes, from what I've been reading you need to have it checked regularly while pregnant because your levels can change and your meds might need to be adjusted.
  • @31magnolia I super slacked on that the last two pregnancies. Maybe this one I will get my act together and actually monitor my thyroid.  :# My OB doesn't seem to check it, so it requires contacting my PCP and yet another appointment to get childcare for.

  • @31magnolia I was hypothyroid with my last pregnancy (that unfortunately ended in a loss) so I should probably get on getting that checked. I'm seeing my high risk doctor on Friday so he'll probably send me for blood
Momma to 3 angels and two amazing children

    W born September 2020
    #3 due November 2022
  • @Louise_Belcher - That's interesting. I keep reading that it's a big deal during pregnancy and it should be checked and monitored.

@mflowers929 - I'm going to my  OB with a list of stuff for her to check! LOL. I'm with my RE until week 10 and then see my OB on week 11.
  • Sorry I'm late to the party... See appointment info below.

    EDD/weeks+days: 9/11 7+6

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Keyboard key

Upcoming appointments: None scheduled yet. Had the viability and dating ultrasound yesterday, where my due date got changed from 9/14 back to 9/11 (which is what I originally thought it was).

How are you feeling? Meh. I'm pretty good today, but other days not so hot. But I'm pregnant and grateful, and after yesterday's ultrasound and seeing a heartbeat, I'm a little less anxious.

    Raves/Rants: BREAD  <3

Questions: This is my first pregnancy. When can I expect my next appointment to be? 12ish weeks?

GTKY:  What is your hobby? It seems sleeping is my most recent hobby. Under non-pregnant circumstances, I like reading, cooking, hiking, and yoga.

    @Louise_Belcher Your son sounds hilarious!

@macheno Sorry your church group didn't work out. Hopefully the moms' group fits your schedule better!
  • @ssbl Thanks, yeah I hope so too, but with how awful I've been feeling it's tough for me to get motivated to want to do anything.

You should have a regular prenatal exam every 4 weeks until the end of your pregnancy (8th month you go 2x and in the last month you go every week), but sometimes you have extra appointments for certain testing of they don't it on same day as your prenatal. There is an NT scan that is usually between 10-12 weeks and it's an US that measures the thickness of the babies neck to check for downs and other abnormalities.
