Sell our house and buy a slightly larger house. Pay off our remaining student loans and car debt.

We were Team Green last time, which I loved, but this time we'll find out. I need to figure out bedroom logistics this time. As far as parties go, I'm not sure if we'll do anything. I was too exhausted last time to do a Sip and See but I wanted to. And I don't have social media, so we'll probably just tell our families via phone or in person around Valentine's day.

I'm trying to convince my husband that we need to do a sneak peek. We don't do a gender reveal, we'll just post on facebook. Haven't started a registry yet, don't plan to share it when we do as this is our second baby, it'll just be so we can get the discounts!

NBR GTKY: buy a new car (we need one before the new baby), and a house. After that split between savings, helping family and friends, and donating to things I care about.
GTKY: I found out with both of my older two, but we’re planning on being team green this time.
I haven’t done a gender reveal before, not really a fan.
No registry as it’s my third, we really have everything we need. My ILs threw me a shower for my second and it was very nice and generous, but I felt a little uncomfortable because we really didn’t need gifts. Glad to not be doing one this time.

Due: my OB is insisting on basing the due date on LMP which puts me at 8/28 even though my dating scan I had on Friday still lines up perfectly with 8/31. I don't know which one to say now, hmm.

Everyone is being so practical! I guess I would do the same though; pay off the house, cars, and any other debt, then probably invest the remainder. Maaaybe go on vacation or something nice as well.

I wanted so badly to be team green with DD but we were so stumped on girl's names we decided to find out. We will likely be finding out again for the same reason. I think we'll just tell any important family and friends when we find out, I don't think there will be an announcement necessarily until the birth announcement goes out. I personally don't like gender reveals; they're not really popular where I live anyway. DH and I don't really participate in social media anymore so there won't be any sort of announcement on there either (well, maybe MIL will, lol). I haven't even thought about a registry; are any other STM+ doing a registry? Honestly I don't think there is much I need this time around.

Totally being practical and buying a new house while we finish fixing this one up and sell this one. Also I'd pay off my husband's truck and I would get a bigger car. With whatever is left, I would pay off loans and out money aside for my kids. This is such a lovely dream.... Haha

We are not going to find out the sex, so no gender reveal. We did find out the sex with my son but didn't do a gender reveal for him either. I guess if I could come up with something super original, we would. I will probably announce our pregnancy at some point on social media. Not sure how or when- again it is so hard to be original but it is the easiest way to share with everyone at once since there are so many friends and family that we don't see often enough to tell in person. I would of course call the close family and friends that need to hear it first before it becomes common knowledge.
I did make a registry that will probably stay private, but I wanted the discounts. We are pretty set with baby clothes and big things but I want to get a double stroller and some new cloth diapers since we will have 2 in diapers. So I've been throwing things on there as I stumble upon them!

Probably similar to what people have said. Pay off student loans, buy a car, save the rest. I might also spend some on house repairs that we've been saving up for.

We are finding out, but we haven't decided about announcing. I think gender reveal parties can be cute and I would totally enjoy attending one, but I personally haven't ever wanted to do one myself. Hubs isn't into them either. We'll probably just tell family and friends in person as we see them. I could imagine telling some loved ones in a cute but casual way, but not at a party. We will find out the gender right at the end of the first trimester, so whenever I decide to post on social media, I'll probably just include the gender as part of the pregnancy announcement.
I haven't started a registry yet! I actually forgot about that entirely. My sister asked if she could throw me a baby shower like 5 minutes after finding out. She's so sweet. All that feels really far away right now, but I guess it doesn't hurt to start preparing!

pay off debt, invest more in my business/expand and buy a house since my ex husband got ours in the divorce.

I am planning to find out the baby’s sex, I’ll probably go to an elective ultrasound place to find out before my 20 week anatomy scan like I did with my first pregnancy.
I have already told close family and friends, but I will announce on social media on Valentine’s Day.

I will not have a gender reveal party.

And I haven’t started a registry. Not sure I’ll do one this time around. I still have a lot of the big things from my daughter. I saved a lot. So might do a sprinkle for diapers and wipes and small things.

Similar to what others have said... pay of remaining student and auto loans, put some money into the house via inground pool, go on a nice vacation, and investment the rest.

Yes, finding out asap!! I would love to do a small/chill gathering with our parents and siblings and maybe one or two friends who actually care about the gender... nothing fancy just pizza. Unsure how to reveal though... My friend is a photographer so she would be in charge of the reveal and I guess I need some ideas. Idk, balloons or open a box with a pink/blue onesie? I'm not creative so need to look online for some ideas. We will announce on social media once we reach out to our closer relatives, so sometime after we clear first tri. I have not started a registry... it feels so overwhelming!!

No, we are team green. I'm hoping my daughter does ok with not knowing / doesn't get gender disappointment.
I haven't told any family yet. I'm planning on telling our parents and siblings on Valentine's day with a picture of my daughter reading a big sister book. I don't know if I'll do a registry. It wouldn't be for others but to get discounts. I need to see how good the discounts actually are!!

@ziggymama06 if I might make a suggestion? ....if you're going to work with a photographer, I think it might be a good idea to like you said - run it by them and see what they think will photograph well. I have seen some of those reveals with confetti and stuff like that that you couldn't really even hardly see in pictures? Like maybe it was more obvious in person, but in the pictures or the video, it was sort of unclear. Whereas something like balloons or cake or I don't know what else, would photograph much more obviously. If that makes any sense! I'm sure the photog will have some good ideas! Sounds like fun!

@BusinessWife Thank you for the suggestions... totally makes sense. The photographer is one of my closest friends, that's why I trust her with taking the envelope and being in charge of this lol... we also don't really want a big to-do (or clean-up ha!), something simple... but maybe a little more creative than a cake haha. I was toying with not even having a party and just having my photog friend come over and capture the moment hubs and I find out. I know some ppl aren't for reveal parties so we will see. 😘

Like lovebug1320, above, we found out with our two older children but we are going team green this time. This whole pregnancy was such a surprise so we figured why not continue with that theme

Plus I’ve always found the idea of finding out at birth really cool and exciting but was always too eager to plan out every last detail of the nursery in advance, get the drawers stocked with clothes, plan out the name, etc! This time around I’m more laid back and more eager for the surprise!

Lurking from week 3

@laur84ns I have always wanted that delivery room moment, but with our first I inadvertantly found out in the patient portal!!! 🤦🤦🤦😵😵😵 So we kept it a secret from family anyway, but I really want to try again to have that experience at least once in my life! There was so much science-ing that took us to get here, and so few mysteries left in this world, I just think it's so special to keep one secret thing that we will ALL just have to wait and find out!

@BusinessWife Ah! Oh no! That must have been so disappointing (not the sex obviously, but wanting the surprise and finding out online). I have to admit this is our last baby and only shot at a surprise so I am a little nervous that we’ll see something in an ultrasound or a dr will blurt it out haha! My dr is very old school so no patient portal. Phew. I actually have another friend who did the same - she wanted a surprise but logged in for test results and there was the sex. My sister has managed to keep the surprise until delivery with both her boys so fingers crossed you and I can keep the surprise going until birth! Don’t log into that portal!!

@laur84ns Thanks, I am hopeful it will work out better this time. But I hear you, each of those milestone tests where you could inadvertantly find out, you're just holding your breath. Luckily, I switched practices, and she said that info wouldn't be up there, and when I told the phelbotomist what happened, she said they have a box on the NIPT form that says whether or not the sex will even be reported! I love it!

@BusinessWife I'm sorry your surprise was spoiled last time! How rotten... You would think they would have the option to remove that info from the portal because you couldn't have been the only one wanting a surprise?! My sister had her surprise spoiled by the dr who did an u/s and said it was a boy. She normally began each appt by reminding them she didn't want to know but forgot that one time... Maybe reminding your practice every now and then couldn't hurt? I hope things run smoothly this time and you get your delivery room surprise!

@ziggymama06 ugh I hate that this is so common! And that happened to your sister, too. Yeah, I told them every time, so they knew. But then even after it happened, they swore up and down there really was no way for them to redact it from the report or the portal. I mean, unbelievable. Whatever. One of the many reasons I won't be going back to that practice.

The day we went for the anatomy scan to find out the sex, we wanted the tech to do a little gender reveal thing for us so we could be surprised when we opened it at home. That day the office was testing out a new ultrasound machine so there were 3 reps in the room with us. One of them used the pronoun "he" and I just knew. It ruined the surprise a bit but we were going to find out at home anyways. This time we don't want to know until this little one is born so I'm hoping it doesn't happen this time!

I would do most of what everyone else did: house, saving money for kids, earlier retirement hopefully. I also probably wouldn't tell anyone outside of my husband if I could help it because, in my opinion, money sours relationships.

I want to find out the baby's sex. We did the delivery room surprise with my 1st pregnancy which was fine, but I really want more preparation this time. I have not started a registry and I am struggling even to open my box of maternity clothes (even though my regular clothes don't fit anymore). I want to wait until 12 weeks to pretty much do anything. I won't be doing a gender reveal; it's going to be, "Hi, Mom? Yeh, It's a (enter sex here)."

I suppose it's indicative of this moment in life -- we are all in nesting mode including when it comes to our bank accounts. I'd save it all, maybe retire a few years earlier.

We're not finding out (so many Team Green-ers in Week 4!) but did last time and announced to my parents with a cake died blue inside. It was really fun, really low-key and really delicious, and I would 100% do that again if we were finding out. I didn't do a registry or shower for DS and will almost certainly skip it again, but I *would* love to celebrate the baby in some different way. Either a sip and see or just a no gifts ladies brunch this summer.

Questions: Anyone have good recs for baby gear reviews, comparisons, etc.? Last go-round, one of the ladies in our BMB introduced me to Lucie's List and the Magic Beans youtube channel, both of which were awesome, but I'm sure there are other great resources out there.

NBR GTKY: Pay off the house and renovations we’re planning, save some, and take an epic month long trip to Hawaii. 😂 I’ve actually been discussing the possibility of said trip (not as long) since both my husband and I work from home. One can dream, right?

GTKY: We are planning to find out. We need the extra time to debate about names. 😂 I’m taking the NIPs test next week. To anyone who has taken it before- how long did it take for you to get your results? No big reveal or anything. I’ll probably post a pic of my son with a “baby sister/baby brother coming in August” sign to my social media. I’ll create a private registry for the completion discount, but I don’t think we’ll have a shower.

So sorry to hear the surprise was spoiled for some of you! I’d be tempted to wear headphones during any scans just to be safe. Haha. My health portal has a giant warning on it saying some test results include the baby’s sex, so that’s nice, but makes it hard to read things.

Honestly, take care of any bills that may have caused the lawsuit, because an amount that big, something big must have happened that most likely has a lot of hospital bills. With whatever is left, I'd donate it.

I'm not wanting to find out this one's gender. I'm pretty null about it so far. I could careless. Besides the sickness I'm having, I don't even feel pregnant yet most likely because I haven't got to hear a heartbeat yet.
We plan on announcing on Valentine's Day, same as when we did with my 16 month old. We will post on a letter board, "One More To Love. Baby #2 August 2020."
I've started adding stuff to the registry that we had for my daughter. Mostly diapers, wipes, disposable diaper bags and bottles.

A little late to the party... the app is such trash and even the web browser on my phone was giving me some problems loading posts for the past week. Finally pulled out my laptop

Seems like we have a practice group of ladies and I am going with pretty much what everyone else says. Buy a house and bigger car, pay off student loans, put some in a fund for baby's college, and whatever's left over can be for retirement/savings

We are planning to not find out. My husband is indifferent but I have strong preferences for not finding out so I will get my choice on that one. My reasons are twofold... the less important reason is that I want to delay the inevitable glitter bomb that my mom will throw my way if the baby is a girl and try to accumulate as much gender neutral stuff as possible. My preference would be for even after the baby is born for most clothes etc. to be more neutral, but I know my mom will go pink/glitter crazy if I have a girl. Ultimately I won't say no to her giving me free clothes even if they aren't my style, but I'd just like to delay that a bit. The second reason is like @BusinessWife
and @laur84ns ... I just think that moment of meeting your baby and finding out the sex would be so special. I've also had friends have the surprise ruined by NIPT results, so I'm going to try to be diligent about avoiding that

We are not going to have a reveal or even a social media announcement. I'm not that big on social media and I think we will just tell people in person when we see them or send a text to people that are out of town.

Have not started a registry... but I've slowly been looking into the bigger ticket items and trying to figure out the differences. My birthday is coming up and my mom said she will get my one of the bigger items as my gift, so I will probably try to narrow down some things soon, but I think we will probably start a formal registry sometime in second tri

This is easy. Assuming I have $1 million after taxes: I'd build my dream house on private land with no subdivision or HOA, pay off my student loans, buy a range rover (dream car), quit my job, put at least $160k in the kids college fund (I figure $80k each should cover it hopefully dad can cover the rest lol), and the rest give to DH for his business because he gonna have to handle the rest of the bills forever because I am DONE.

GTKY: Are you planning on finding out baby's sex? Yes. We will do NIGT at 10 weeks just like last pregnancy

When / how do you plan on announcing? We already told immediate family at Christmas. Beyond that I have no clue, last time I did a 1 min video on social media.

Will you be having a gender reveal or announcing on social? So last time we found out together and had a private reveal just the two of us. I brought pink and blue balloons and my coworkers put the balloons in a box and we (DH & I) opened it later at dinner). This time I'll find out before anyone else alone, and if its a girl we'll probably have a small party to reveal. If its a boy I'll just tell MH "you were right" and we'll continue on likely disappointed. He wants a girl and I don't want anymore pregnancies LOL so we are both very much hoping for a girl.

Have you started a registry? yes its still private. We won't need much, since my son will be 2 by the birth, so its mostly diapers, wipes, bottles, and stuff that I noticed we didn't have enough of first go round like receiving blankets (you can never have enough).
