  • What is everyone watching/bingeing on tv? We need a new show. Cable, HBO, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon...suggestions please!
  • @literatureandink I loved Handmaid's Tale, though not sure how I would feel watching it while preggy!
  • @literatureandink I'm strange and watch 2 or 3 shows at once. I watch a season of a show and then switch to another show. I'm watching cheers now and plan on watching the new season of gracie snd frankie next.

  • I had a particularly gentle and lovely prenatal yoga class tonight and now I feel like a big heavy rolly bear. I highly recommend it.
  • @literatureandink on HBO we loved his dark materials. currently watching the outsider. and curb your enthusiasm just started up again and I love me some Larry David.
  • @literatureandink Not sure what you're into (other than the Great British Baking show) but we've been watching Jack Ryan on Amazon, Watchmen on HBO, Don't F**ck With Cats on Netflix.  On my own recently I've watched Working Moms on Netflix and You're the Worst on Hulu.
  • @literatureandink If you need a quick show for a laugh, Nailed It on Netflix has me in 🤣 a lot.
  • @literatureandink just finished The Witcher on Netflix (it's super effed up and out there if you like dark stuff) and have just started Messiah. DH and I are watching Suits together. I plan on starting the Mandalorian (Disney +) soon.
  • @doraleigh35 We also just finished The Witcher!  I don't know how I forgot
  • I'm having one of those "Is it Friday yet?" weeks...  Anyone with me?
  • @KFrob what did you think?
  • @doraleigh35 I liked it!  DH loved it.  I like the darker side with some humor mixed in, but it didn't suck me in as much as some other shows we've watched recently.
  • @doraleigh35 @KFrob Witcher was our most recent show! We finished it in 3 days. I wish there were more episodes. After that it was Castle Rock. I also watched Cheer by myself and love Working Moms!
  • @mandarenee898 Yes it is one of those weeks for me, too!
  • @literatureandink We LOVED the first season of Castle Rock but we haven't started the second yet.  Was it just as good?
  • Oh my dear sweet @KFrob you need to watch it NOW! It was WAY BEYOND the first season. The story was better, more streamlined, more emotional, scarier, just above and beyond. Not to say we didn't like the first season, we absolutely did, but the second season was far superior. Please immediately watch it. Quit your jobs and get a live in nanny and watch it. Just as a heads up - it's anthology style - so it's the same town and everything happens in the same timeline but totally different storyline.
  • @doraleigh35 We really enjoyed Mandalorian.

Hi! I’ve been sick. I took a sick day yesterday, which I hate to do with FMLA coming up soon. I still feel bad today, but better at least. Anyway, that’s why I’m not around as much right now. Don’t really feel up to doing anything.

  • Blech @mercury94 I’m so sorry you’re sick!! There’s some sort of gross plague going around my office and I’m a hand washing machine right now because my nose feels B stuffy and I CANNOT handle being sick right now!!
  • My boss wants to do his evaluations of us right after spring break(when I'm 37 weeks). Yeah, that might not be happening considering I had to be induced at 37 weeks with my son!

  • Coronavirus! I live in Chicago where the 2nd confirmed US case is. O'hare is also one of 5 airports in the US that flights from the impacted area are allowed to land for screenings, which increases the chances for cases here. I'm not a crazy sick watcher, but at 6mos pregnant, with a daughter who had Open heart surgery a yr ago, and a husband who will be going through Ohare at least 6x in the next 2mos, I am not a happy human with this!  GO AWAY new strains of shit and new shit in general!
    TW:
    1 infant loss
    8/17: Our daughter was born
8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass
2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old
    4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
  • @smallbutmighty77 oh no!! I’m in Raleigh and we’ve got a potential case that came through Raleigh Durham International and is now quarantined at Duke, so I’m obsessively hand washing everyone in our house and spraying everything down with disinfectant.
  • @mandarenee898 Yes! I was like that all week. Thank god it is the weekend! I am starting to feel less motivated at work and into nesting mode.
  • I guess nesting is starting a bit here. DH went to work this morning, so I took the opportunity to order a bunch of stuff for the nursery.

  • When I first met DH he had never read or seen any of the Harry Potter series. I told him he had to read them and so he's been reading them out loud to me, with voices, for a couple of years (his choice to do it that way). Last night we finished the 7th book!!! I had him take the sorting hat quiz and he's also a Gryffindor and now we're starting into the movies. We're going to need to dive into some new books I think because we've had so much fun working through the series this way  <3
  • @babyrummom and @mercury94 nesting is definitely starting, and though my mind isn't on work I'm still hoping to work up until the babies are here (I'll be able to work from home closer to the date).   My nesting is manifesting in the need to get little girl's blanket done NOW (I just started it last week - after finishing little boy's).  We have some stuff to clear out of the nursery but that should be done in the next week or so.
  • @korthouse I hadn't read the Harry Potter books or seen any of the movies before DH and I were married either. I was dealing with some health issues and wasn't working then so he told me I had to watch the first movie, and if I hated it, I didn't have to watch anymore. 7 years later, and I'm a bigger HP fan than he is and have read the books and watched the movies multiple times through. Lately, we've been reading some books by Brandon Sanderson (fantasy author), and I'd highly recommend the Reckoners series if you're looking for something to read next. (I work in a library - I can't help but give out reading recommendations. lol!)
  • @korthouse that is so romantic! ❤️
  • @korthouse Before my husband met me, he hadn't read the books or seen the HP movies. I got him into the movies first and now were are making our way through the books on Audible. The narrator on Audible does an excellent job with the voices! We are only on the third book though.
  • @babyrummom That's so fun! I think they'd be great as an audio book 😍
  • @sbalding88 Ooo thank you for the recommendation!
  • @sbalding88 YES to Brandon Sanderson! Mistborn is amazing and I’m hoping to tackle the Stormlight Archives this year!
  • @skc040512 Yay - another Sanderson fan! I love the Stormlight Archives. Some of my favorite characters Brandon has written are in that series. They are some monstrously large books though so I don't always recommend them as the first introduction to Brandon Sanderson. My husband eased me in with Mistborn and the Reckoners before I tried to read that series. There's just so many different series he writes to try, and I've liked every single one I've read. My only problem is having to wait so long before another book comes out; I'm so impatient!
