@jennifer_louise I get the frustration with waiting. My last pregnancy was conceived via IUI so I had ultrasounds starting around 5 weeks and every few weeks after. I hate waiting so long to have my initial ultrasound lol.

And my dad will come around. He's not really a family guy so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. My mom is ecstatic so that made up for it!

I play mostly RPG (fallout, skyrim, ESO, witcher), first person shooters (doom, COD) and scary games (everything resident evil, evil within, Until dawn (awesome by the way - I've replayed it numerous times)). I pretty much play everything lol.

ETA - my friend also didn't tell her stepson that she was pregnant and one day he walked up to her belly and said "my sister elizabeth is in there right now". It totally freaked her out lol.

  • @linz36 sorry about your dad, hopefully you get a better response from whoever you tell next.  I'm glad you're here!

    @jennifer_louise
I have very similar symptoms to you - and we're about a day apart.  So hungry all the time and super sore boobs.  I'm with you on the napping!  But also, knitting, sewing and baking.

    EDD/weeks+days:
    September 24 / 5W4D

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  Finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): brand new no. 2 pencil eraser

Upcoming appointments: This Wednesday with my Family Doctor for blood work and an initial us.  Then I'll start looking for an Ob in my area.

How are you feeling?  Tired, so tired.  I had grand plans to do laundry yesterday and go to the gym, but ended up lazing on the couch for the entire day.  DH took over our lunch meal prep for the week which was awesome, and we watched 3 Star Wars movies.  Well he watched and I napped on and off through them.

Raves/Rants:  I had brunch with my group of friends from high school on Saturday and decided to tell them.  But they are under strict instructions from DH that they can't tell anyone because we're waiting to tell out families for awhile still.

    Questions:  Nope

GTKY:  What is your hobby?  General crafting... every few months I'll decide to learn something new so I have an endless supply of works in progress stashed around the house - knitting, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint, quilting.  I'm trying to make a hobby of cleaning out the house, we have so much stuff and need to de-clutter, but every time I start I get sleepy after 30 minutes and end up napping.

@linz36 this was supposed to be an IUI cycle for me too but we got snowed in! So instead it was just letrozole. There's a chance of twins too, but without the IUI I think my odds are lower (8-15%, depending on which research you go with). And yes, it's crazy how intuitive kids can be! Of course, she's been asking for a brother for months and months. She will be ecstatic (at least, at first lol) which is why we don't want to tell her for quite a while, if things are looking good.

@hp242 hey symptoms buddy! 😂 Wow your weekend sounds amazing! At some point we should definitely start a dedicated crafts thread. Maybe it will inspire us to finish projects! I am into knitting baby blankets lately.

EDD/weeks+days: Not sure exactly as I am still nursing. Thinking around 09/24. That EDD would put me at 5w4d's.

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team Finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): an Appleseed

Upcoming appointments:None yet. I called today and someone is supposed to call me back in a couple days

How are you feeling? Exhausted. Occasionally nauseous and burping. Otherwise not so bad yet. With my other pregnancies I didn't start to really feel sick till about 6 weeks.

Raves/Rants: Ugh I called my OB this morning and the appointment scheduler said I may not be able to see her this pregnancy as she is spending less time in the office and more time with the university. It's a teaching hospital. I really don't want to change OB's!!!! She is the most awesome doctor ever. She is so sweet and caring. She has even called me during non office hours to go over test results with me and make sure I was handling everything ok (last pregnancy was high risk and baby was IUGR and had other things that needed monitoring). I might cry thinking about it, darn pregnancy hormones!!

    Questions: None

GTKY:  What is your hobby? I like to cook and read but I don't get much reading done nowadays with three kiddos. I also like sleep! hahah
    Ivy: July 2010  |  Stella: Dec 2012  |  BFP#3: MMC at 11Wk's, July 2017 | Wyatt: April 2019 | BFP#5: Twin Girls due Sept 2020

  • @jennifer_louise I would totally be up for a general crafting thread at some point!  Any inspiration to go back and get some done would be great , it'll help with the house de-cluttering for sure.

@robyn2201 Ugh that's frustrating about possibly having to change OBs.  Are they able to recommend other doctors she works with for you to go meet to see if you get along well with them?
  • @hp242 @jennifer_louise I would love to have a crafting thread on here!!! I am always looking for new projects!

How are you feeling? Normal so far! A little constipated.  :D

Raves/Rants: I hate these first few early weeks of pregnancy where I have no symptoms and haven't had an U/S yet. I'm anxious for the first one to come around!

    Questions: None

GTKY:  What is your hobby?   Hmmm... I like cooking, seeing movies, watching sports, traveling.

  • @hp242 There are like 20 OB's in this clinic, so lots to choose from! In the past when my OB was not in the office, but I needed an appointment, and I have asked who was good to see instead, I have always gotten the attitude of well they are all good. Sigh. Which is so not true.

I got the recommendation of my current OB, 8 years ago, from a well known doula in the area. I was looking for hands off, more natural birth friendly OB, and was given her name. I just emailed the doula to see if she has any recommendations. Hopefully she responds before the clinic calls me back.

Baby is the size of a(n): poppy seed!

Upcoming appointments: blood test Wednesday for doctor to confirm pregnancy and then they’ll schedule my other appts.

How are you feeling? Super moody; nauseous one day and great the next.

Raves/Rants: my job is so annoying and makes me angry each day LOL.

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is your hobby?  I like to read, but it more or less ends up I collect books that I never find time to read LOL. I also like nature and being outside.
  • @robinj716 I'm in the club of collecting books I never read lol. I've actually banned myself from Barnes and Noble as it became a bit of a problem. Before my last pregnancy I used to read constantly but once I got pregnant I stopped and haven't picked it back up. It's like I have lost my attention span.

  • EDD/weeks+days: September 23rd or 24th, 5 weeks and 5 or 6 days

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out. Hoping to have the screening test that I did with my son so I can learn as early as possible.

Upcoming appointments: February 14th, first appointment and ultrasound. I have a love/hate relationship with ultrasounds. I’d like to know if the baby is doing well but I’m weirdly and illogically paranoid about the procedure itself.

How are you feeling? Good, few symptoms which makes me a little anxious🙂

Raves/Rants: We have a situation in our family that is in limbo and it’s hard to be patient waiting for the resolution.

GTKY:  What is your hobby? Reading, watching unedifying Bravo shows, and puzzles.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 9/25, 5+4

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team Green, we found out for my first two (both boys) but for some reason I want to wait until the baby is born to know.

Baby is the size of a(n): Dot snail 🐌

Upcoming appointments: 2/17, ultrasound and nurse/dr appointment

How are you feeling? Over all pretty good. My boobs are still extremely sore, peeing all the time, and exhausted.

Raves/Rants: Not having as much insomnia so happy to finally be getting a good nights rest.

    Questions: None at the moment.

GTKY:  What is your hobby? I love watching reality TV, especially the shows on Bravo. I hate drama in real life but love watching it.

Upcoming appointments: Just had my intake yesterday and went well. MFM on 2/25 and OB on 2/27

How are you feeling?  Nausea and gagging with dry heaves. So so tired.

Raves/Rants: I need to tell my principal at some point soon. She loves me but I'm still nervous she'll be irritated that I'll miss the beginning of the year next year.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY:  What is your hobby?   Running! Today was day 247 of my run streak!
  • Lurking

@linz36 hello fellow gamer! Do you plan on playing outerworlds? Gives me a fallout vibe! I just started playing and I really like it so far!!
  • @greyl I'm about half way through it and I really like it although the mechanics are a little clunky and sometimes they piss me off. FO3 is one of my all time favs that I replay all the time lol. Also, I really liked rage. It was like fallout on steroids, although the story line was rushed towards the end so it wasn't satisfying; but I loved the gameplay.

  • Rant update, I posted the other day about possibly not getting to see my OB for this pregnancy due to her not being in the office very often and teaching more. Well my clinic called this morning and I get to see her! I won’t have to change OB’s. Very happy!

Intake appt is 02/18 with the NP, and then first real appt on 02/24 with my OB and an ultrasound.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): corn kernel

Upcoming appointments: 2/12 for dating scan. Going to a new ob that delivers at a different hospital so I'm interested to see how they do things.

How are you feeling? Sooo much worse from my pregnancies with my sons. I am having a hard time keeping anything down and the worst part is the urge to puke hits between 1-4am. Between the lack of sleep and the acne, I look crazy.

Raves/Rants: I sleep during my 1yo's 2 naps and go to bed by 8. Not sure if that's a rant or a rave lol

Questions: really gross, but anyone have sulphur burps as a symptom? Is there something I can do to avoid them?

GTKY:  What is your hobby? Cross stitch, and I am learning to quilt. I also enjoy reading. I'm currently reading Starsight by Brandon Sanderson and Memoirs of a Geisha.

@linz36 Elder Scrolls has taken up so many hours of my life lol
  • @rocketmom88 YES!!!! TES is life lol.

@elsie42 I love everything Bravo...it's just so addicting

  • Update:   I had my first appointment yesterday, and since I knew my dates so well (because I was cycle tracking etc) my doctor is skipping the dating US and I have to wait for the 12 week scan. :disappointed:  I had all the initial blood work done yesterday and go back in 2 weeks to answer the questionnaire but I'm still feeling disappointed that it'll be 6 weeks until we get to see anything.

@robinj716 @linz36 I'm in the book collecting club too!  Slowly working my way through my 2019 collection.

@robyn2201 glad to see your OB issue was sorted

  • @linz36 I can definitely see that! I haven’t played much of the main storyline yet because I’ve been doing a lot of the side quests but I think it’s an interesting game so far. I haven’t played a lot of games though. Fallout is so fun!
  • @hp242 that’s sooo not fair your dr skipped the dating us! I’m sorry! :(

  • EDD/weeks+days: 9/29, 5 weeks

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding Out

Baby is the size of a(n): lentil

Upcoming appointments: 1st appointment is 2/13 and feels like it is months away

How are you feeling? Feeling pretty good. Breasts are a bit sore today, but aside from that I don't have many symptoms to report.

Raves/Rants: Really want to tell our immediate families (and my best friend), but deciding to wait until after the first appointment... Lot of excited nerves for the 1st appt, really hope we can get an ultrasound. On the other hand, I hate needles and don't want them to take blood. Guess I have to get used to that...

Questions: What should I expect at first doctor's appt? I will be around 7ish weeks.

GTKY:  What is your hobby?  Love baking, playing D&D, watching netflix and sci-fi shows.
