2nd Trimester

Cramping anyone??

I am 15 weeks 4 days, I have been having strong menstrual cramps for over 24 hours now. I am not bleeding and I am not hunched over in pain, my doctor says there should be nothing to worry about but I can’t help but continue to worry. Laying down, changing positions, standing, sitting… None of it is helping to relieve the pain. The only time it feels worse is at night, the cramps wake me up and are so uncomfortable I am unable to fall back asleep. Anyone else going through something like this? It feels different than the round ligament pain I was feeling a week ago.

Re: Cramping anyone??

  • OP are you constipated?  that can cause cramping. Also Gas... gas can be super uncomfortable. your GI slows down when your pregnant causing all of these issues.

  • I came here to research the same thing! I am 15 weeks 2 days the past few days I have had bad cramps not horrible but constant pressure and cramping... definitely seems different than round ligament pain and is starting to be concerning.
  • Several things could be causing this. Constipation, gas, anything that might have irritated your stomach. Is this your first pregnancy? It could also be braxton hicks, which are tight cramps of your uterus but not harmful or early labor. It's just practice. This is my fifth, and they have gotten more intense with each baby. Body just knows what to do! Also, if you are dehydrated they will intensify. Lastly, I had a bad yeast infection with my first and the only symptoms were cramps like a period. Apparently it can cause that feeling even if you're otherwise asymptomatic. It was disconcerting enough that I went to the hospital for it. So I'd perhaps check for that. Call your doctor if you can rule everything else out. And DO NOT take naproxen! It is an NSAID and those are off limits during pregnancy.
Momma to four, and we're expecting one more!
