$1 million. Won't they take half that in taxes? So with the remaining $500k, I would put around $100k as a large down payment on a house. I would put $150k into savings. Invest $200k into our/my H's business. The remaining $50k I would put toward nice yearly vacations for H and I (and possibly some with children, although I tend to want to wait until they're older to do anything major with them.) Ph, and probably take $15k-$20k or so and upgrade my vehicle. I really could use something better.

Reveals. Nope. We're waiting until the birth. I have not made a registry. Probably won't unless it's for the registry bag.

@gomillis, I already am, but yes! I look forward to feeling better and actually looking pregnant instead of heavier.

NBR GTKY:  You win $1m in a class action lawsuit.  What do you do with the money?
likely upgrade our house just a little to one extra bedroom and a slightly larger master and living room. If not, we’d finish our basement to have a playroom. No matter what we’d pay the mortgage off. We’d both get new cars (mine is a 2012 and his is 2003) the rest would likely be savings in a mutual funds for trips and future needs

GTKY:  Are you planning on finding out baby's sex?   When / how do you plan on announcing?  Will you be having a gender reveal or announcing on social?  Have you started a registry?
I was team green with my daughter And I want to be again. My H wants to find out. So we will see.
    No registry at this time

Since I'd likely only get about half of that thanks to taxes, I'd probably pay off whatever was left of my student loans first, if anything remained at that time. Then buy the forever house with plenty of land for a vegetable garden. Anything left would go into mutual funds, and I suppose DH would probably want to take a vacation with some of it!

GTKY:  Are you planning on finding out baby's sex?   When / how do you plan on announcing?  Will you be having a gender reveal or announcing on social?  Have you started a registry?
We are planning on finding out. We are telling our parents this upcoming weekend and then after that letting our siblings/close friends know. I was thinking of revealing on social media around Valentine's day. I'm not a fan of gender reveals so we won't do one. We haven't started a registry but I did bring DH with me to Buy Buy Baby today to look around. This is our first baby so we will have definitely have a registry.

    Questions:

@gomillis I can't wait for this trimester to be over! My anxiety has been horrible. We are so close!

@gomillis I am definitely looking forward to 2nd tri, even though I still have a few more weeks to go.... Sigh.  See gif party post lol

NBR GTKY:  Pay off my school loans because they suck. Yearly family vacations for the foreseeable future. Maybe build a new house with giant ceilings and open concept with a fully updated kitchen :) That'd be nice!

GTKY:  We are planning to find out. We have very little social media presence and likely won't "announce" on anything (same as when we had DD). I could see us having a reveal with just our close families, separately, but we won't be having a big party or anything. We aren't planning on a registry rn but like @coldlife, I'm here for the goodie bags! We really have everything we need from LO1. If it's a boy we may need to pick up a few things and then obviously clothes. But for the most part, we should be good.

Questions: I'm so ready for the second tri. I'm feeling much better and no more MS so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

we’ve decided not to find out the sex until birth. We both told our parents around Christmas, and *close* friends. We’ll announce in person to the rest after we clear our NT scan, we aren’t on any social media so no sharing there. Also, have not started a registry yet!

NBR GTKY: I'd do a 1/3 to savings, a 1/3 to house projects, and 1/3 to a vacation fund. Love being able to take nice trips to places I've never been. Will be interesting to see how that works with a baby in the mix :)

GTKY: We should be finding out this week! I had my NIPT last week, so hoping to hear from my doctor later this week. I don't think we'll do a big gender reveal. I kind of want to keep the info to ourselves for a few days and then start sharing (mostly b/c I feel like I may need a moment to manage my emotions if it's a boy). I've already started my registry (using Target, Amazon, and Babylist), but mostly just to keep myself organized.

Questions: I appreciate hearing that most people are dealing with a little first trimester anxiety... helps me feel less alone. I think there is something about being so close that makes me even more eager to get through the next week and half. I think I'll feel comfortable sharing more broadly once I have the NIPT results and my next appointment (a week from today).

Does anyone have any plans to celebrate the end of the first trimester? I'm going to buy myself nice maternity leggings using a Nordstrom gift card, as well as the Ina May Gaskin's book.

NBR GTKY:  I would pay off the house and my husband’s student loans. I would put some into college savings for the kids. I would probably invest some so that it could earn interest. And maybe a vacation.

GTKY:  Are you planning on finding out baby's sex?  Yes, at the anatomy scan.

When / how do you plan on announcing?  We have already told close friends and family.

Will you be having a gender reveal or announcing on social? We will not have a gender reveal but will probably do some type of announcement on social media next month. I haven’t decided what to do for that yet.

Have you started a registry? No, I’m not sure if I will since we shouldn’t need much stuff. If it’s a girl we might need some more clothes, but other than that we will re-use what we already have.

Questions: none at the moment. I am very much looking forward to second trimester as well.

NBR GTKY:  You win $1m in a class action lawsuit.  What do you do with the money?

I would pay off our student loan money, put a good chunk down towards a new home, and then invest the rest.

GTKY:  Are you planning on finding out baby's sex?   When / how do you plan on announcing?  Will you be having a gender reveal or announcing on social?  Have you started a registry?

Yes we are. Hopefully we will know by the end of the week.

We plan to tell our daughter after my appointment on Thursday and then she will wear a big sister shirt to daycare on Friday. I need to figure out a cute way to
announce that we are pregnant and the sex on social media involving my daughter.

I have no started a register yet. Depending on the sex we won’t need too much. I got a lot of things fender neutral so everything could be reused. I think that every baby should be celebrated so we will have some time of sprinkle or dinner to celebrate this baby.

    Questions

@gomillis I’m super excited to almost be done with the first tri. I told my husband this morning I can no longer stuck my stomach in. I’m also looking forward to seeing my belly grow day by day. I truly love being pregnant.
