Re: Group 3 Check-in (July 17-24) w/o 1/6

  • EDD/weeks+days: 7/19, 12+1

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Plum for the week, hard boiled egg today....which is crazy because I feel like it was just a poppyseed! Also how do I not have a bump if it's that big?!

Upcoming appointments: next check-in next Friday (I thought it was this coming Friday, I was wrong. sigh.)

How are you feeling? I FINALLY feel like my 3 week cold is going away! Just a little stuffy now, and I'm wondering if I'm going to be one of those people who just has a stuffy nose all pregnancy. It's pretty normal now in the winter, but when spring and summer come, it will be annoying.

Raves/Rants: Rave today! We had a very social weekend, and it was fun to get out and about a bit more than usual. We fell into being homebodies last year, DH was unemployed for 10 months, and it's been hard to shake our extra-frugal habits from that time (though of course now we're concerned about saving). Anyway, it was nice to see lots of friends, get out of the house, and check out new restaurants. We're also trying to plan a long weekend away for a small "babymoon," which I'm excited about (and will be sooner rather than later due to my work schedule!)

Questions: Somewhere in the recesses of this board, a few STM+s recommended a website/book that reviewed lots of baby products. I checked all of the product threads and can't seem to find it - was it Lucie's List? has anyone used any other review services (WireCutter, Consumer Reports, etc?) My mom recommended getting started with a registry soon, and I have no idea where to start!

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year? I'm more of a TV person than movies, generally speaking, and Game of Thrones was huge for DH and I. I'm also a big fan of Big Little Lies!

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  PINK (found out last week)

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Lime... I definitely feel like I’ve got a tiny lil bump. My bloat has calmed down and even when I suck in I’ve got a lil poke coming through.

Upcoming appointments: Dec 16th. I should have gone end of this week, BUT! I am on vacation

    How are you feeling?
I’m feeling pretty blessed and highly favored, :-) but also peeing in the middle of the night is getting on my last nerve and I’m sleepy at 8pm— everyday hahaha.

Raves/Rants: I’ve gotta rave at this point, I am on a cruise vacation with a beautiful balcony and lovely weather. Slight rant: would be nice to sip a cocktail on this balcony hahaha.

    Questions:

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year?
Honestly, Joker was a standout film for me this past year. It was so so good and such an interesting take on a story I’ve seen and heard multiple times. I watch too many shows to really pick favorites but I remember watching Fosse/Verdon and being like, “This deserves all the awards. Throw all of them at it.”
  • @mehugg 3 week cold, eesh! Glad you’re feeling better finally! Sounds like a fun weekend. Do you guys have any places in mind for a babymoon? To answer your question, I’m pretty sure it was Lucie’s list.... paging @blaf322 I feel like it was you that recommended it?

@eurovisionmomma welcome to the board! I’m so jealous of your cruise ugh. Virgin strawberry daiquiri?

    EDD/weeks+days: 7/17 12+3

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out. I’m sure my friend has my sneak peek results by now but we won’t be finding out until the 18th

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: baby is building up the waste for their first poop. Exciting! Lol. Size of a plum this week

Upcoming appointments: first OB appt on Wednesday!

How are you feeling?: totally fine, tired from just
    not sleeping any more, fat.

Raves/Rants: I just want an actual bump to come out rather than my holiday blah-ness. I feel like a lard. Also my parents put our family dog down on Friday and I have been pretty mopey since, she was the best (15 years old). In good news, only 2 days till I get to see baby again and go to my first “normal” OB appointment!

Questions: what should I expect at this first OB appointment? Since I’ve been regularly seeing a doctor, I’m confused haha. What questions should I be asking her?
Also I feel like I maybe asked this before so sorry if I did. Lack of sleep is killing me right now

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year? Hmmmmm DH and I really like Emergence. New on abc this year. With our luck it’ll be canceled like every other show we get into together (RIP Whiskey Cavalier), I don’t think it has very high ratings :(
  • @b_1029 literally LOL'd at the poop comment. sounds fabulous!

@eurovisionmomma being on vacation in sunny, warm weather sounds AMAZING. Enjoy!

@mehugg same here - GOT is our jam. so sad it's over but my husband said at some point we should watch it again and I would agree with him!

    EDD/weeks+days: 7/19 12w+1d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Size of a hard-boiled egg or a gherkin pickle. Fun fact: baby is starting to develop reflexes

Upcoming appointments: Our next appointment is just a quick check-up at the end of this month.

How are you feeling? Good actually.. I have a bump and can no longer button my jeans comfortably so I invested in a belly band.. It seems a bit too big right now but just folded it over and it seems to be doing the job. I got out of the house on Saturday and had an eventful day with some girlfriends. It was soooooooo so nice to get out and do something for once. I have been so sick and hoping that I'll continue to feel better for a while.

Raves/Rants: I have an interview today at my current company for a promotion, so wish me luck!

Questions: Is anyone planning on taking a birthing class or any other type of class?

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year?: Game of Thrones (obv.), Succession, and Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. ALTHOUGH I haven't been able to see this one yet. Husband and I go to see Star Wars as a tradition around our wedding anniversary but not this year. Now that I am pregnant, I get dizzy and nauseous in movie theaters.. fun.
  • @shaqn0sis no way! I have an interview for a promotion at my company today too- good luck!! 💪🏻 I’ve been doing the hair tie thing on my jeans but need to look into the belly band. Glad you’re feeling better! To answer your Q- I’m planning on doing some sort of birthing class. I have NO idea about any of that stuff
  • Ahhh good luck @b_1029 and @shaqn0sis!!!! You got this!!!

@eurovisionmomma enjoy vacation! I'm definitely jealous

@b_1029 we're only doing a long weekend and are on a budget, so we're thinking local places around new england. My requirement: wherever we go must have a spa that does maternity massages. Good luck at your appt! Big thing will be meeting your OB, but also will likely include an ultrasound and bloodwork. Mine had 9 vials, but you may have done some of the tests I was doing already so it may be less. I think I was there all told for about an hour.

@shaqn0sis my OB does inexpensive L&D and breastfeeding classes, so I'll definitely do them. I'm also noodling on whether to do more labor workshops, while I'm almost definitely team epidural, I'd ideally like to hold off on it for a while so I can still move around, pee, eat, etc....so a class on some natural techniques might be helpful for that.
  • @b_1029 thank you! that is awesome - good luck to you as well! I have no clue either, and I'm not sure if a class will help me or just scare me...

@mehugg thank you!! I know my OB definitely suggested I do a breastfeeding class if I'm remotely interested in doing so (which I am). I'm definitely having an epidural but also interested in natural techniques as well but don't know where to look or what would be worth it. If you end up discovering a class like that let me know!
  • EDD/weeks+days: 11w4d/ EDD July 23

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: as tall as a bobby pin is long

Upcoming appointments: my first OB appt is wednesday! its technically with the midwife (thats how they do all the first visits to the clinic for some reason) so hopefully i get some answers and a plan established to see an OB sooner rather than later....im pretty concerned that im going to be high risk so i want to get with the doctor asap

How are you feeling? blah. ive had a cold/upper respiratory thing for 3 weeks, and now i have a sinus infection on top of that. and im still throwing up a lot. i cant sleep well, and when i do, i have the weirdest craziest dreams.

Raves/Rants: Raves: DH is just the best. He helps me so much and is so supportive. He recently has insisted that we read from What To Expect When Youre Expecting every night to prepare, haha. He is so cute. He also made me these pancakes yesterday:

Questions: Does anyone know if lemon ginger tea is okay to have while pregnant?

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year? gosh, DH and I love movies and TV, so there are a lot....
TV: Outlander, Good Girls, Lost in Space, The Mandalorian, Supernatural, GBBO, Queer Eye, Jane the Virgin
Movies: Shazam, Ford V Ferrari, Avengers Endgame, How to Train Your Dragon The Hidden World, Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile, Murder Mystery

First TTGP: 5/9/19 BFN, 6/21/19 BFN, 7/29/19 BFN, 8/1/19 started a break from tx, 11/16/19 surprised with a BFP! LO born 7/7/20
Second TTGP: started meds for first cycle of tx on 10/13/21

  • *lurking* @mehugg not sure if this is what you're thinking of, but I recommended a book I used for baby gear way back when in the link below. I did use Lucie's List too, but for some reason I preferred this book. There's something about having a physical book for me, and this one has big tables in it comparing different products that were easy for me to follow.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: too tired to have a fun fact lol

    Upcoming appointments: January 15th

How are you feeling? Horrible, I think this last week has been the worst in terms of nausea out of the entire pregnancy, I’m down 8 lbs ( and I wasn’t overweight going in to pregnancy)

Raves/Rants: rants: feel so so sick, daycare shopping was ridiculous/expensive but we found one we really love and only have to sell a kidney to afford lol and school started back today. My raves: it’s my last semester of classes! My husband is still being the most supportive man alive and I told all my family that we would like to not have overnight guest for the first two weeks after baby is born ( none of our family lives in town) and no one made a stink/ was upset and they were actually really supportive. It was great. And my biggest rave is tonight is my last night of progesterone!!!! I can’t be more excited.

Questions: do y’all count end of week 12 or 13 as the end of first trimester? #iwanttobethere

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year?
im not sure if it’s this year but that when I started watching it so single parents. It’s the funniest show. I didn’t have high hopes but it’s easily one of mine and my husbands favorites.
I’ll be back for tags when I get home.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 12 weeks 3 days

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: We found out last week, its a healthy boy!

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: A roborovski hamster!  I had them as pets so thats pretty cool to have a reference point!

Upcoming appointments: I just had my NT scan today and that along with the NIPT test say this one is low risk which is great news.  I have an anterior placenta though so thats new for me.  Four kids in and still something new to learn each time.  My next appointment is the 22nd.

How are you feeling? Tired.  I cant make it though the day without a nap.  And hungry I want to eat everything I feel.

    Raves/Rants: Nothing major this week

Questions: Would anyone want to help weigh in our boy name choices.  We have had such a hard time naming a boy I was hoping it was a girl so it would be easier but alas its not to be.  We think we have it narrowed down and my husband finally agreed to some he nixed so we had some choices to work with.

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year?  I love Jane the Virgin and was so sad when it ended last year.  Such a smart funny and heartwarming show.  I basically only see kids movies these days but I did like the new Aladdin remake a lot and I disliked the new Frozen.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 12+2

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: We took a SneakPeak test but aren’t telling anyone until after the anatomy scan. It’s pretty fun having a secret with my husband!

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: plum!

Upcoming appointments: We had one yesterday, and don’t have another one until early February!

How are you feeling? I have a sore throat from a cold, and nausea that comes and goes, and I’m really tired. But I feel pregnant, and that is the important part!

Raves/Rants: I love how snuggly my animals are since I’ve gotten pregnant. I have 2 dogs, a cat and 7 chickens and they are all really affectionate (chickens are affectionate for chickens)!

Questions: Is it normal to have breast tenderness throughout the whole pregnancy? Or will that go away at some point? So far I have had sore breasts since 3.5 weeks pregnant.

GTKY: In honor of last night's Golden Globes, what is your favorite movie/TV show from the past year? We don’t watch a ton of tv or movies, but we did just finish The Marvelous Mrs.Maisel and it was really entertaining.
  • @angemtn I had extremely sore breasts from 2 days before my expected period until about week 10 and then it subsided. I haven't had any since! Also, I know that my friend didn't have breast tenderness until her second trimester. I'd say that this symptom can vary for everyone

ALSO - love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!
