Re: TTGP Grad Check-in 1/9

  • What's going on this week? First full week back at school. Its It's nice  to be out in the open with the bump.

How far along are you? 21+5

Upcoming appointments? 1/27 for a repeat AS

Cravings/Symptoms? Oh the hip/groin pain. It's been ramped up this week. I'm going to blame being back at work and have to do all the walking/standing. The hip pain is bad at night and sleeping with a pillow in between my legs helps but I turn from side to side so much.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I secretly started eating yogurt again without letting DH know I've been eating his. I took the last one this morning and sent a confession text later. I think he should be happy I don't think it smells like the devils gym shoes (morning sickness) anymore.

    Questions?

  • Loading the player...
  • @jrouge12 😂 At least you sent a confession text! You could have really messed with him for a while!

What's going on this week? Not much, just working. I'm really in the holidays are over and the kids are back to their regular school schedule. They were getting kinda wild.

How far along are you? 22 weeks.

    Upcoming appointments? OB tomorrow.

Cravings/Symptoms? No cravings. I really don't even want to eat right now, but I make myself. Sleep is horrible and I'm exhausted.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I think I have bronchitis, which is pretty much torture. I strained the muscles along the sides of my stomach from coughing, so that's been fun. And breathing at night has turned to wheezing unless I use an inhaler. I pretty much hate all things right now.

    Questions? Nope.
  • What's going on this week? I'm excited for this weekend! DD has gymnastics Saturday morning (first time since last June) and Sunday night is DH's work holiday party and playoff football! Luckily they will have the game playing during the holiday party. He works for a big retail store and they always draw names to win gift cards to the store. At least one of us have won every time, most years we both won, so we've taken home anywhere from $100-$400 in gift cards to the store!

How far along are you? 22 weeks!

Upcoming appointments? Jan 24 for a regular check up

Cravings/Symptoms? I'm feeling overall great. I used to crave more of a vinegar/acid flavor, now I find myself wanting sweets/chocolates now. Nothing too crazy though. Restless legs still going strong, other than that I've had this soreness or heaviness in my pubic bone/vagina area. I talked to my Chiro yesterday and she asked if it feels like I've been kicked in the crotch and am bruised. I would say that sort of describes the feeling. She did some different kind of adjustments. We will see if it helps.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? This can be a rant and a rave! So my feet are growing already and I think I will need to buy all new shoes soon. With DD my feet grew, but just near the end and never went back down, so I had to get new shoes after pregnancy.

    Questions? Nope

  • @jrouge12 Do you see a chiropractor? I have regularly for a few years and they have helped with hip pain, even during pregnancy. I would say the pelvic floor PT helped the most with my hip pain post pregnancy though. I've actually been thinking if I should see one during this pregnancy.

@ruby696 Oh no! I hope you feel better soon, it seems like you cannot kick these colds.

  • @ruby696 I'm so sorry you feel so terrible! Bronchitis is so annoying. It always took me forever to stop coughing when I got it. I hope you get some relief soon. 😔

@m6agua I used to see a chiropractor for my shoulder but after a doctor switch (the one I liked left) I kind of got tired going. I might mention the hip pain to my OB and see if they reccomend anyone. Today I kept having to push a heavier box with my leg to keep my classroom door open (a kid stole the doorstop) and the whole leg just felt weak and my inner thigh/groin muscles hurt. It was definitely not like this when I was pregnant with DD...I just read your description of being kicked/bruised vagina, that is absolutely me. I'm very interested to know if the adjustments helped. LMK.
So many FX that you win  big at the party!!! It sounds like a lot of fun. Buying some new shoes sounds like a pregnancy perk! You can't help it your feet grew.
  • @jrouge12 Ugh, my sciatica is making my lower back/hips/butt all hurt.  I feel you.  Also laughing about your secret yogurt scandal.

@ruby696 Ugh, girl, you can't seem to catch a break.  I hope you feel better soon!

@m6agua I need to look into getting myself a chiro again.  Also, I mentioned the restless legs to my OB and now she wants me to be tested to see if I might be slightly anemic.  I'm not super eager for an extra blood draw, but I guess it's good to check.

What's going on this week?  I can't believe I have to work 5 WHOLE DAYS this week.  My brain and body are so confused.  I booked a prenatal massage for myself (Christmas gift from MH) for Sunday, and I'm soooooo excited about it!

How far along are you?  23 weeks today!

    Upcoming appointments?  Jan 20

Cravings/Symptoms?  I'm wanting to eat again, so that's good.  I've been craving starchy and cheesy things, but have been averse to tomato based foods and some meats.  Also, gimme all the chocolate.

Rants/Raves/Randoms?  I definitely popped over the holidays.  People at work went from not knowing I was pregnant to "Woah, you're pregnant!" when they came back from the holidays this week.  It's kind of funny to watch the people (mostly men) I work with notice and then have an inner struggle about whether or not to say anything.  Most wait until I say something first (smart).  One lady I see in passing made a comment like "I knew you were cooking another baby in there!" (uh, thanks?).  She was the same lady who told me I was so skinny after I had my son (I hated food when pregnant with him and lost weight overall) and then told me to just wait until you have a second one and the weight doesn't come off so easy.  Thanks for that backhanded compliment.  But other than her, people have been pretty cool about it.

  • @jrouge12 congrats on eating yogurt again! haha Also, it must be something in the air because my hip and back pain this week has ramped up so badly!  I'm hoping it passes and doesn't just get worse!

@ruby696 hopefully you get some cough meds and get some better sleep!  Bad sleep and tough eating isn't a great combo so hopefully it improves

@m6agua hopefully you bring home some big money this weekend!  I have that same crotch feeling!! I also told my midwife that it feels like my vagina is "sagging"... she laughed at my description and said "welcome to your second child" haha.  Also, I need new shoes so badly but I'm waiting to see if my feet grow again, too!

@shamrocandroll I'm so jealous about your prenatal massage!  How did you go about finding a place that does it?  That lady from your work needs a real backhand to go with her backhanded compliment
  • What's going on this week?  Work. I went out of town for a day meeting yesterday so I had a lot of driving, but the weather was good. DH’s work holiday party is Saturday night and they better show the Vikings game while there!

How far along are you? 20+6

Upcoming appointments? 24 week check up on 1/29

Cravings/Symptoms? Lately I’ve been craving salads... which is odd but good. Unfortunately, I’ll happily eat a salad for dinner but then I wake up famished and eat a tonnnn of everything in the morning.

Rants/Raves/Randoms?  Happy the baby is moving more. I wish it would stop waking me up at 2am every single night so I could get some actual sleep. But, if that’s the worst then I’ll take it lol

    Questions? Not currently!
  • @mokay19 I live in a very rural area, so there are very few places that offer massage around here to begin with.  So I just checked the couple that I knew of to see if they offered a prenatal variety on their services menu, and they did!  2AM is my baby's dance hour time too.

  • @shamrocandroll When I got home he told me I took his favorite flavors too! Definitely enjoy the massage, these 5 day work weeks are a pain! 😂 A big middle finger from me to that lady!

@mokay19 I cycle between eating a sensible meal and then having a day of needing to eat all of the food too. 2AM is too early, tell baby that!
  • @jrouge12 lol the devil's gym shoes! And that's cute that you confessed to the yogurt.

@ruby696 I hear you in the wild kids! I'm so glad S is back in school and I can tell he is too, he walked right up to his favorite teacher's aide and gave her a big hug. Sorry about being so sick, I hope you get some relief soon

@m6agua have fun at the holiday party! Hopefully you guys win big, and hopefully the chiro helped with your pelvic pain!

@shamrocandroll I had a prenatal massage around 12 weeks that DH booked for me for my birthday and it was wonderful! It was super relaxing that early, I can only imagine how amazing it feels at this stage of your pregnancy, enjoy!

@mokay19 aww man, sorry baby's waking you up in the middle of the night, but kinda jealous. With an anterior placenta, I only feel tiny movements still and I'm ready for the big wiggles!

    What's going on this week?
Not much, I'm also complaining about having to work a real 5 day work week, but DS's attitude has been so much better since school is back in session. Breaks really mess with his schedule!

    How far along are you?
    22+1

    Upcoming appointments?
BFing class on 1/15, glucose test 1/23, ob appt 1/24

    Cravings/Symptoms?
I've been craving fruit like crazy, omg oranges are sooo good right now! I still can't handle ground beef, which is really messing with DH's desire for in-n-out lol. I've got the hip pain like everybody else seems to have and sitting at a desk all day is not helping. I get up and walk around as often as I can and on my breaks at work a few of ua walk a lap around the complex which is about 3/4 of a mile. It's not a lot, but definitely helps. I've also started doing some prenatal yoga videos on YouTube and it's seriously helped my mood, hips and sleeping.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
We've come to the decision that after baby comes, I won't go back to work full time. I will step down to a per diem position and be available to work 2 days at the most. It's going to be a weird time in our lives where we're going from 1 kid to 2 and DS will be transitioning to kindergarten, which will be at a new school with new classmates and teachers, and although I know he's going to be in the special education program and not integrated with the other kids, I'm anxious about how he'll handle it. Financially, we've done it before, I've only been full time for a year and a half so I'm not worried, but I'm trying to make sure that all the extras are paid off so that we don't have any debt other than truck pmt and mortgage.
