January Night Owls

Anyone up and not on purpose? I’ve been tossing and turning since 1...😫

Re: January Night Owls

  • Hello again, insomnia. DS woke up at 3 upset about something. I was having weird dreams. Now, I can’t stop my brain and sleep.

  • I’m awake! I was sleeping soundly, but I think I had been in one position for too long. When I rolled over, my brain started thinking about all of the things, so here we are.
  • I’m up tonight with bad heartburn. Just moved to the couch so I could try sleeping sitting up. Hope it helps!
  • I hope you were able to sleep in a different position @mandarenee898!

I’ve been waking up at 3:00am the last few nights for no particular reason and then not being able to get back to sleep until close to 5:00. It’s probably my body preparing me for baby, but I sure wish I could just sleep through the night!
  • I’ve been having weird 1-2hour stretches of wide awake in the middle of the night too. Try to stay off the phone and pick up my book to read in hopes it makes me sleepy. Only works sometimes though.
  • Thanks @jenabary! I was able to get a couple hours of sleep, on my side with pillows placed against the arm of the couch (more comfortable than it sounds). Then I woke up about 4 and my heartburn was so much better (Yay!) so I got back into bed.
  • Woke up at 5, after not falling asleep until 1, and have not been able to get back to sleep. Ugh. Also I feel like a burger having to flip sides regularly all night!
  • @korthouse I’m with you on the flipping sides. It’s so hard to get comfortable.

  • I just can't sleep anymore if DH is in bed with me. All of the switching sides on top of his snoring!

  • @korthouse I love your analogy!  I’m with you on the flipping sides. My hips start to hurt if I am on one side too long.
  • @korthouse I have a pregnancy pillow and lay on my left side, but I’ll wake up and need to change positions because I’ve been on that side for so long. It is even hard to flip with a giant pregnancy pillow in the way!
  • @babyrummom I have a pregnancy pillow too, plus my pug likes to sleep in the crook of my legs so it's a mission switching sides!
  • @korthouse that does sound like a challenge!!!
  • @korthouse My pugs used to sleep in bed, but I had to kick them out last pregnancy. They would hold the covers down on top of me and make it impossible to move. It just got to be too much by 3rd tri. I love them, but I also love sleep.

  • @korthouse right now it’s me, my husband, our dog, our puppy, whatever combo of our five cats that chooses to, and my big ass pregnancy pillow in bed. The pillow provides relief but it is such a pain in the a*s to flip with that some nights I don’t even use it.
  • Well...awake again! I had a few nights of decent sleep, but the 3am wakeup is back. Baby has been super active rolling around in there, and I think his movements are waking me up. So glad it is a weekend and I can plan to take an afternoon nap!
