My HS daughter. She isn't allowed to have her laptop in her room. (School issued) and after I caught her on it at 1 in the morning a few weeks ago I went as far as to have DH take the door off her bedroom so she cant sneak it in anymore and hide it when she hears us walking by. So, last night my son yelled down the stairs, "Mooooom! (DD-name) has her laptop in her room! They go to yelling at each other, she keeps denying, I go upstairs to check it out, she moves the pillow on her bed, no laptop. Then my son said, "she's on top of it!" I told her to get up so I could check. (She was sitting on her bed.) And she shoots her brother a dirty look and thrust a laptop into my hands saying, with gritted teeth, "It's DOWN stairs." I said, "well if your computer is downstairs then wtf is in my hand right now? Whose computer is this?" She had snuck MY laptop into her room. I don't know what else to do. She hasn't had possession of a cell phone or laptop or tablet on weeks. You think she would learn! I don't know if both of us will come out of this year alive. Then, this morning I woke her up at 6- like every other day- for her to shower and get ready, and at 7 when she should be out of the bathroom, i get the 3 boys up to get ready- and find that she went right back to sleep with the lights on and everything in her room. Just, wtf. Whyyyyyy is this so damn hard right now?!?!
@modoodles I do not look forward to the teenage years. I know how hard my parents had it with me and that was without cell phones and tablets...I just can't even start to think about it.
my bladder is apparently being a tw and I need to do more kegels...I keep freaking myself out thinking I'm leaking amniotic fluid, but I know thats more than likely ridiculous.
It's really minor but still irritated me, probably more than it should but.. hormones. Today's triage nurse. I am currently in process of completing admissions stuff for school, since its healthcare related it means immunization forms and tests. I HAVE to have these or I can be denied admission. I called and left a message asking if it was safe for me to receive a TB test while pregnant. (CDC website says its fine) The did respond, my appointment was this AM, so I talked to the head immunizations guy at the department of health about it and he said its perfectly safe. So i went ahead with it (today is literally the only day I am able to get it due to a tight schedule) The moment I start driving away the OB nurse calls and says its not recommended unless absolutely needed, so I ask if she can explain why they don't recommend it, explaining what the CDC and the immunization guy say its a-okay. She goes "I don't know we just typically say not too" well okay thank you, that is a major help. I asked her to ask the doc and call me back (Not like it can change anything I made an informed decision and got it done) But it was beyond frustrating- the timing, and her not knowing why she is or isn't recommending something for a person. Do your job, please you're informing people who are trying to grow healthy new lives.
My TW is whoever at work can't pee into the damn toilet and gets it all over the floor and seat instead. We don't have male/female bathrooms, there are just 7 separate bathrooms that aren't gender-specific. I walked into the only open one in a group of 4 to see pee all over everything, so I walked straight back out and went to the other end of the building to the other group of 3. All of those were in use too, so I ended up having to use the pee-splattered one (because I'd already held it longer than I should've). Not pleased I had to step strategically to not get pee all over my shoes.
@stlbuckeye132 A friend of mine put an out of order sign on one of the stalls in the bathrooms at her work so no one uses it now... except her lol. You should probably do that.
@blaf322 I wonder if that would work here at home with my own kids? 😂😂 I swear one of the boys just has terrible aim and doesn't know how to use a clorox wipe.
@stlbuckeye132 I would add to yours grown women who leave strips of toilet paper on the floor with unknown bodily fluids. I'm not your mama I'm not handling that on your behalf. I love the out of order sign idea.
Led a phone call today for a contract negotiation I’m supporting (I’m an attorney). Every single question asked had already been answered in the LAST phone call we had and in subsequent emails. And in the agreement itself. Am I the only one able to read?
I’m usually way more patient but today anybody wasting my time is in for it. And afterwards I feel super mean and guilty and want to cry.
@nursejenn5 if it makes you feel any better, during my first pregnancy I got the PPD shot early on. Then HR lost my paperwork and made me get it again 😡. I knew it was ok to have, but I was not happy about that. I’m sure I could’ve fought it more, but at the time I just was like “whatever, let’s get it over with.”
My TW is to parents who have kids who are in the 3-6 range and bring them to multi-use kids play areas and let them push around the babies/toddlers and do not do anything. I get it, they are kids, but you are the parent and need to teach your kid that pushing down a toddler because they are in your way is not an appropriate solution. Put the phone down and be a parent!
@kristinl492 when I was in nursing school and getting a few new jobs. I remember have 5-6 different TB checks in the period of like 2 years. It was really annoying.
Not sure if this qualifies as TW but I've even sitting on a stationary train between stations (the next of which is my stop) for over an hour now. No update, just periodic mentions of "switch/signal problems." I'm sitting here wondering, what if I were "big pregnant" and needed to pee 3x an hour and/or were having Braxton Hicks? What if it were after the baby and my husband was travelling and I was on baby pickup? This service is so expensive and can be so unreliable, it's ridiculous!
@nursejenn5 I’m not sure why they said it’s not recommended since the test only uses some recombinant pieces of TB and isn’t actually like live or anything. I wonder if they were thinking of the TB vaccine that isn’t recommended in pregnancy since it is a live vaccine and we are considered immunocompromised.
@kc0711 I dislike that too. Kind of related, but I remember when I was on maternity leave with my daughter and every Friday would go to this breastfeeding support group where we all sat on the floor and moms would bring a blanket and lay their baby down in front of them or hold them, etc. There was one mom who would sometimes bring her older child (who was maybe 2.5-3) and it stressed me out SO MUCH. The toddler would never sit still (obviously, because she was a toddler) and would jump around in the circle and get SO close to sometimes falling or tripping on the babies... omg my postpartum mama bear hormones were off the charts when she was there. It still stresses me out just recalling the memory lol.

@LaurenAsh23 years 3- 12/13 were super fun 😂 My daughter has always been so laid back and just easy to parent. This year has been rough.
@nursejenn5 oh damn, that would p!ss me right off. Way to call after the fact and have no knowledge behind the recommendation.

Hormones are neat.
