Upcoming appointments: 1/13, first baby care class on 1/09
How are you feeling? Anxious. I'm now going to therapy weekly but I can't help the anxiety. I go back to work in 2 weeks and at that point, I'll be on the verge of the 3rd trimester. There's still so much to get/do (waiting on the baby shower) and I'm already feeling uncomfortable. I'm trying to work on the mental side, really I am but I can't help it. Physically, I'm pretty good. Normal back pain, sleeping discomfort, and growing belly.
Raves/Rants: DH uses "Daddy Up" app to keep track of the pregnancy and this week he was advised to NOT make beeping noises when I'm walking backwards.
Questions: My mind is racing, I'm sure there's a question in there but I can't think of one.
GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? I would relive the 90s. I'm a 90s baby but I'd love to experience it as an adult.
Upcoming appointments: 1/17 for a repeat anatomy scan
How are you feeling? My lower back has been killing me lately. I'm thinking about investing in a belly band for support.
Raves/Rants: DH and I agreed for me to stay home for the first year or so a while back, and while he doesnt say he changed his mind he has been making little irritating digs occasionally.
Questions: I think most of us in the group have had our anatomy scans by now. Anyone remember their babies growth percentile? At 20 weeks, mine was in the 30th. Seems small to me but they didnt seem concerned. Mostly just curious about others.
GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? Hmm I'm creature of my comforts and my technology, so while I'm not a huge fan of the state of the world, I'd still choose this decade.
How are you feeling? Just got over the flu (type B isn’t covered by the flu shot this year, fyi!) and I lost all 5lbs I gained this pregnancy. OB had already recommended ensure due to the lack of weight gain, but I didn’t want to resort to it. I picked up some protein shakes today since MS has made a reappearance. So basically, I’m tired and not hungry.
Raves/Rants: I’m ready for school to be back in session. DS1 needs the routine and DS2 has been acting like a spoiled brat lately.
Questions:
GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? Probably the late 70s/early 80s. Right before technology got too big and the start of some really great music.
Upcoming appointments: 1/13 regular prenatal appointment but with my actual OBGYN so I’m excited to see her! The practice has us rotate so we know everyone before delivery.
How are you feeling? Mostly great! Sleeping is tough I’m a back and stomach sleeper usually. My lower back hurts from sleeping funny.
Raves/Rants: Bummed my FMLA isn’t paid. I have to submit my letter for the BOE meeting this week, but it’s hard to judge what days I’ll actually need.
Questions:
GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? I’d go back to the 90s or early 00s. It was a simpler time, and I am forever grateful social media didn’t exist during my awkward years!
Happy to be back after the break! DH took a lot of time off and we were both off social media.
@drkoyya so sorry about the anxiety. I hope the baby shower will help you feel a little better. While pregnancy is always proclaimed to be a “magical” time it’s also extremely stressful and hard.
@randic22 DD was the 20% and all was okay, I’m pretty small so it made sense. Meanwhile baby boy is in the 98% - if he continues this way it might mean a c section for me as DD caused some delivery damage despite being small.
@babyfoxden10 ugh sorry about FMLA. With DD mine wasn’t paid either.

How are you feeling? Tired
Raves/Rants: in addition to my own insomnia, DD has not been sleeping. She is waking up for hours in the middle of the night and her napping has been terrible. I’m exhausted and a bit of a hormonal mess.
Questions:
GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? The 80’s. Like many of you mentioned above, I would love to live before technology got so big and complicated. Also seems to be a great time with music.
@drkoyya Sorry you're feeling so anxious, but glad you're going to therapy for it. I'd love to say it gets easier, but motherhood is pretty much just one giant anxiety attack for me. I've just gotten better at coping with it. Definitely don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
@randic22 The way I think about any percentiles is that it's a normal distribution of a population. Half the babies fall into he bottom 50% and half fall into the upper 50%, by definition. Just like any kind of population based around an average. Things like genetics, ethnicity, and infinite other factors come into play. I wouldn't be concerned about it if your doctor isn't. They don't generally throw any flags until you get into the low single digit percentiles or upper 98%+ percentiles. Here's a nerdy Wikipedia article on it, if you're into that stuff like I am. I'm an engineer and I do a lot of statistical analysis.
@rox7777 Sorry about the flu! Glad you're recovering now!
@babyfoxden10 Ugh, sorry about your FMLA not being paid.
@newmomtx06 Sorry about the sleep! I've been sleeping terribly too, although it's the pregnancy's fault, not my toddler's. Hope it gets better soon!

How are you feeling? My back is shot and I'm not sleeping a ton, but otherwise good.
Raves/Rants: I fell on some ice in my driveway this morning. We had some rain that froze, and then it snowed a bit last night and covered the ice in a thin layer of snow. I went out to my car this morning and didn't see the ice, and fell flat on my butt. My back is already not happy with me, so that didn't help things any. Thankfully I'm feeling regular movement now and that's been regular throughout the day, so I'm not feeling too freaked out about it.
Questions:
GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? I think being born in the 60s-70s (Generation X) would have been pretty great. Before technology took over our lives, but not so long ago that women and people of color didn't have any rights. I would have loved to have seen some of the greatest music legends in their prime. Specifically, I wish I could have seen Queen play live with Freddie. I was only 7 when he died and had no idea who Queen was at that point.

@shamrocandroll thanks! I am nerdy about those things so I will definitely check out that article. Sorry you fell 😔 I've been nervous the few times (like today) that we've had snow and ice. Thankfully though southern PA hasnt really had much so far this year.
