Hello everyone!
I hope it's okay I started this thread to have a place to discuss how others are handling the alcohol at social gatherings. Will you say no if offered and hope nobody notices, tell everyone so you don't have to pretend, or accept the drinks as usual and pretend to be drinking (any strategies for this? I've heard of people filling beer bottles with water, drinking the same thing as DH and swapping discretely, just "forgetting" your drink when you move to the next table, etc). I'd love to hear what others are doing!
Re: Holiday Alcohol
I plan on accepting wine and pretending to drink at my in-laws on Christmas. Sadly my DH doesn't drink, so I can't swap with him. I'll probably just set it down somewhere and "forget" it.
We bought mini bottles and I'm having hubs drink them this weekend so that I can refill with sparkling grape juice! Then when we are having mimosas and stuff i'll just have "mimosas"

Also a soda can in a coozy works okay too. Ginger ale looks sort of like beer if you don't look too closely.

Blueberry Moscow Mule-
Muddle 1/4 cup blueberries and a half of a lime cut into wedges then add ice and ginger beer.
So delicious! I just used a large kitchen utensil to smush up the blueberries and line wedges. If you're hiding it, then you can say there is Vodka in it because that is what would normally would be in a Moscow Mule.
