Still pretty good. I’ve Had some mild hangover feelings during the day a few days this week but I’ve been able to remain active despite it.
What are you doing to stay active?
Still sticking to my normal workout routine. I noticed I can still hit some of my normal faster speeds during track but it takes me so much longer to recover so I’ll be slowing down a bit next week.
How did you do last week?
Pretty good. Last Saturday I ran a relay and did a total of 7.6 miles for my team. This week I’ve been able to get to bootcamp twice and went to track. Today I’m gonna run my little ones to the playground with the double and tomorrow I’m running 6 miles with friends.
Any goals for next week?
It’ll be busy with Christmas but I’m hoping to get to bootcamp at least once and run 3-4x.
GTKY: What is your least favorite type of workout? What’s your favorite?
I hate working my abs. It’s the worst but it’s what I need the most of course. My favorite is running.
@BusinessWife I hear you on the stress eating. *TW* since my loss in May *end TW* I gained 15 lbs from emotional eating. It has been so bad. I’ve been lucky that my pregnancy seems to keep me in check in terms of portions. But I need to watch that, too, or it can get ugly here quick.
How are you feeling this week? Pretty crappy overall, but some days are better than others.
What are you doing to stay active? Running and these online fitness videos called FitnessBlender.
How did you do last week? So far this week I’ve run three times. I plan to do something low impact today and maybe strength training tomorrow.
Any goals for next week? To work out 5 times. I have the week off so it should be doable.
GTKY: What is your least favorite type of workout? What’s your favorite? My favorites are running and kickboxing. Feel free to add anything- nutrition, etc! Eating my normal healthy diet has been a challenge because of nausea and food aversions. Hoping I can find a rhythm with healthy foods that quell my nausea.
How are you feeling this week? ok, I feel the worst in the afternoons and evenings.
What are you doing to stay active? I was working out regularly, but my schedule got busy, so it took a back seat. I am making it a goal to start a new program tomorrow
How did you do last week? no work outs last week
Any goals for next week? I would like to work out 5-6x next week. I need to get back into working out in the morning, especially now that I don't feel well in the evenings.
GTKY: What is your least favorite type of workout? What’s your favorite? Least favorite-legs Favorite-cardio, abs and arm strength training
Feel free to add anything- nutrition, etc! My nutrition has been decent, I haven't been very hungry in the evenings, so it accomplishment for me to eat anything for dinner right now.
How are you feeling this week? Pretty sick. I had my first OB appt this week so they gave me some meds to take to help alleviate some of the all day sickness feeling. Before that, I was barely keeping any water/food down.
What are you doing to stay active? Trying my best to stick to my 5AM bootcamp routine. Only missed one day this week but I woke up to my alarm and immediately ran to the bathroom.
How did you do last week? 5 days last week
Any goals for next week? Stick to the 5 days + Saturday
GTKY: What is your least favorite type of workout? What’s your favorite? I love any type of cardio and I despise any sort of strength training which is odd considering I am a part of bootcamp.
Feel free to add anything- nutrition, etc! I feel like my nutrition has really gone down hill. Prior to this pregnancy, I was meal prepping and staying on top of it. Now, I never know what my appetite is going to be like each day and quite frankly, the thought of food on most days turns my stomach. Hoping the 2nd tri brings some relief and I can get back on the meal prep train.
You ladies give me motivation! I don't regularly exercise, but I went to a cycling class at the Y this past week and absolutely loved it. I just find it really difficult to find the time.
How are you feeling this week? Mostly normal. A little tired but my sleep's been interrupted by some MOTN toddler squawking.
What are you doing to stay active? I try to do 2-3 short spin workouts each week and recently started going to pilates ~1x/week. I'd like to keep it up though I know it requires quite a bit of modifications in 2nd and 3rd tri.
How did you do last week? Good. 4 pretty low-key workouts total.
Any goals for next week? I've packed my sneakers and hope to sneak away for a long walk at least EOD. I need to google and see what options my hometown has these days as far as cycling yoga, barre etc., but probably this week will be an anomaly and I'll just get back to it week after.
GTKY: What is your least favorite type of workout? What’s your favorite? I do not really enjoy running - I want to! But even when I was in my best running shape, it never felt effortless. I love studio fitness classes, and spinning classes in particular. I do not love the price tag.
@wife-and-mommy I struggle with finding time unless working out is pretty rigidly part of my weekly schedule. Is there an ideal time of day/week that you'd like to slot it in? And when are spin classes at the Y offered?
@Mommy2Boys87 5 am bootcamp! That must mean waking up at a time that starts with a 4, which is very impressive. Good for you.
@amm126 What workouts are you planning for this coming week?
@gomillis Hope you feel better this coming week, and that workouts are more enjoyable as a result.
@tyrion_ 7.6 miles at race pace is hard work! It's great that you have friends that can double as running buddies. (Or maybe they were running buddies turned good friends?)
I need to maintain meal prepping and focus on healthy eating. I totally got away from my workout routine after my son was born but I tend to stay active just from doing normal house chores, playing with my son, and staying busy at work! My husband and I abandoned our gym memberships and we bought a squat rack, bench, and weights. We need to get the basement cleaned up so we both can get a routine. I think it will be nice once the new baby is born because I won't have to leave the house and I can workout and set up the monitor.
How are you feeling this week? Not too bad, sick but mainly in the mornings and I've started randomly falling asleep already.
What are you doing to stay active? I try to work out 2-3 times a week. I class, resistance training and a run usually.
How did you do last week? I managed my class an a run in Sunday morning, but I'm a teacher and I had a lot of marking to do b4 the end if term.
Any goals for next week? I'm going to my parents for Christmas, they have dogs so we usually go on lots of walks I'll also probably do a YouTube hit workout.
GTKY: What is your least favorite type of workout? Swimming, I love swimming but it just takes so long with getting dry and changed and I always have to wash my hair. What’s your favorite? I've been enjoying strength training recently.
Feel free to add anything- nutrition, etc! I'm trying to get the balance right at the moment between morning sickness and I'm still breastfeeding my toddler I've lost 2kg since I found out about no. 2.
@cornichonmam Yes to everything you said about swimming! It's far and away my preferred workout once IN the pool, but I've done it...twice? in the last 5 years because the logistics are so rough.
Hey ladies! Question for you. When I was pregnant with my first two I ran a few miles almost every day, up until about 6 months pregnant then walked. I haven't ran since we moved to our new house out in the country, away from all the jogging trails. I then switched to HIIT style workouts and Pure Barre. I haven't worked out in about 6 months but I want to start back with some yoga and maybe do some Pure Barre. Would it be ok to start this since it's still early in the pregnancy? I've always been in pretty good shape I would just need to get my endurance back and stretch back out.
@jwhite3116 I find the pregnancy exercise advice supper unhelpful and often contradictory. I think do what you feel is right and listen too your body, you've been active in pregnancy before so you know how you should feel. Just don't go against your Drs advice.
@jwhite3116 I started working out with my first around 10 weeks pregnant and my doctor said it was okay and just to start slow and build up. I researched that working out helps the placenta become more placenta-y. Or have more blood flow 😅
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
@jwhite3116 one of the recommendations I've heard that makes a lot of sense is to go super easy if you are getting back into it after a break. You won't be able to pick up at the same level you left off anyway, but then plus pregnancy. So go super duper easy to start, and then hr wise, listen to your body and slow down if you feel yourself exerting too much. 🤷 And obv defer to your doctor on your own personal situation. ❤️
