EDD/weeks+days: 7/17...I don’t know? There are 3 different options based on LMP, trigger shot, and actual size 🤷🏼‍♀️ So anywhere between 10+ 3-5

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact about baby: Ovia tells me baby can smell now! Curious about what they’d even smell in there lol

Upcoming appointments: first OB appointment 1/8

How are you feeling?: fine! Tired from holiday celebrations. Happy we told DH’s family last night and excited to tell mine on Christmas. Also excited to see my mama tonight.

Raves/Rants: I hate that I can’t just take PTO this week but I need to conserve it to extend my maternity leave a little. Boo. Also, I’m exhausted after staying at the ILs house until 11:30 last night for gifts and am not looking forward to the 5+ hour drive to Chicago today 😴 Rave- my MIL got me maternity leggings and this adorable little hat for baby! SIL also got a stuffed animal for baby. It makes it feel so much more real even though I still can’t believe it 🥰

Questions: any advice on how to approach this first OB appointment since I’ve already been seeing a doctor frequently? Will I need to schedule the NT scan + NIPT testing immediately? (Will be like 12+6 at the appointment)

GTKY: Apart from baby's arrival, what are you looking forward to in 2020? Is it cheating if I say all the events leading up to baby? First movement, finding out the sex, baby shower, etc. I’m also just looking forward to spring weather minus the rain. I’m ready for everything to be green again
eta we are also going on family vacation in a month. I’m eh about it since it’s in Breckinridge and I can’t ski or go in the hot tub...or drink...but DH and I are leaving halfway through the week to go somewhere else and I’m really looking forward to that! It will be our only little trip together before the baby comes.

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact about baby: I think at this point it actually looks like a baby, which is pretty crazy to me because it's still do smol!

Upcoming appointments: I just had one today! Met my OB, got a look at the babe, pap smear, had tons of blood drawn. All was good!

How are you feeling? I have a cold. It's snot city over here. Also DH and I exchanged Christmas gifts last night and he got me a mug that says "hello my new name is Mommy" and I cried when I opened it so my hormones are totally under control as you can see 😅

Raves/Rants: I ranted the other day in last week's weekly random, but I raged a little at my FIL the other day and we'll be seeing him today. Question is whether he'll be an adult about it an accept my apology or whether he'll either pout or make a big stink, either of which is possible....happy holidays!

    Questions: none at this time!

GTKY: Apart from baby's arrival, what are you looking forward to in 2020? Yeah this might be cheating but we'll be announcing early in Jan and I'm excited to be publicly pregnant and similar to you @b_1029 I'm excited about the milestones. Also turning 30 I suppose?

@b_1029 that stuff is so cute!!! Love it. I had been working closely with my (in practice) gyno on early stuff for my PCOS and today was my first with the OB. They wanted prenatal labs (like 9 vials?), Did an US, and talked about my medical history. They also told me in advance to think about NIPT and genetic testing/screening, and we declined, but I think if I hadn't I would've had that blood draw done today too. Not sure if you've done some/all of that already? I also scheduled my Jan and Feb appts.
  • @mehugg ugh I’m so sorry you’re sick! Hope you get to feeling better soon. That is so sweet about the mug from your H- I think something like that would push me over the edge! It is crazy how much more it looks like a baby. Ours seemed to be facing the US last time so we didn’t get a profile view but the 8w scan was so cool! That makes sense about the appt, thank you. I know we had genetic testing through the first RE we went to just because I am adopted and had no idea so hopefully we can mark that one off the list (cha ching!!)
  • @b_1029 we didn't get the profile either! I was almost a little bummed but I was just so happy everything was good that I didn't mind. We were laughing about it with the OB, like, this is going to be that kid that hates being in pictures lol

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact about the baby: paper clip, garlic clove; fun fact: baby can swallow right now, the stomach is producing digestive juices and bile is being produced by the liver.

Upcoming appointments: December 30th; full OB workup, listen to the heartbeat

How are you feeling? tired...still nauseous. still have severe food aversions.

Raves/Rants: we celebrated Christmas with the husband's immediate family at our house and we received these slippers.. 'mama bear, baby bear, papa bear'. Our dog sat right in front of the 'baby bear ones' and didn't move

    Questions: none at this time!

GTKY: Apart from the baby's arrival, what are you looking forward to in 2020?
I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather at this point. I only like snow around Christmas and then I want it to be done. We also do a yearly friends weekend in August that I'm still hoping we can go to!
  • @shaqn0sis that picture is so cute!!!

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:   Finding out just waiting on the Panorama blood reaults

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact about baby: My Ovia tracker has different themes so this week baby is the size of a Kumquat, a petite four, or a Lego Minifigure.

Upcoming appointments: I just had one today I need to schedule my next one for my nucal at 12 weeks with the high risk doctor which is providing to be more difficult than it ought to be. My next regular appointment is Jan 20 at 14 weeks.

How are you feeling? Tired. I need to clean more for Christmas Eve since we are hosting but just can't get the energy required. Its not a big deal just my in laws but I want it to look somewhat presentable and I'm not sure I can manage even that.

Raves/Rants: I like my Obgyn a lot but the office as a whole has a lot to be desired I think. Still she has delivered all 3 of my other kids and is really great for me especially during labor I don't want to change but it's very annoying at appointments sometimes dealing with everything else.

Questions: is anyone else seeing a high risk doctor? What is the point because appointments like the nucal where they actually check the baby? Do I need to go other times for just general check ups?

GTKY: Apart from baby's arrival, what are you looking forward to in 2020? I'm not really sure right now. I always look forward to summer as I hate winter and being cold. I miss being outside
  • @enchantindragon I love the idea of it being the size of a Lego. that feels like such a tangible thing!

Update on my rant: water under the bridge with my FIL, but no boundaries conversation yet. We've got a few more days in the house, though. We'll see. He keeps telling me I have a "pass" for as long as I'm carrying his grandchild. I haven't been particularly sassy but perhaps I should turn it up lol
  • EDD/weeks+days: July 23rd/ 9+5 (after my dating US a few weeks ago I’m officially part of this group - hey everybody!)

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding Out

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact about baby: Water bottle cap. Apparently baby’s muscles are starting to form this week, can’t wait to start feeling them wiggle around in there in a few months!

Upcoming appointments: Have my nuchal US and NIPT bloodwork on the 8th. I’m really excited for the US because our dating one was at 6 weeks, so I think things will look very different :)

How are you feeling? Nauseous most of the time. Trying to figure out what I can eat without aversions (mostly bland foods and cold things so far). Tired AF, glad to have a bit of a break from work with the holidays this week.

Raves/Rants: DH has been really wonderful throughout, but especially this last week when my nausea really ramped up all of a sudden. I’ve been feeling pretty glum about not being quite myself and feeling so low energy, and he’s been so supportive and taken on a lot of the cooking when I can’t stomach the smells! Also telling my parents and siblings on Christmas with their gifts - first grandchild for them so I think it will be so special!

Questions: My OB recommended at my last visit that we start looking into daycares, like now. Any good websites people have used as a starting point?

GTKY: Apart from baby's arrival, what are you looking forward to in 2020? We’re hoping to do a “baby moon” together for one last trip just the two of us before the baby comes. Looking forward to planning that out!

@mehugg I hope you feel better soon! A cold
on top of being pregnant doesn’t sound like much fun.

@shaqn0sis that photo made me tear up - so sweet!
