I keep going in stores (because Christmas shopping...of course) and I feel like every time, the person behind me in line is so close they are breathing on my neck. WTF people...GIVE ME MY SPACE!!!!
But, the good news is that I finished Christmas shopping yesterday and I have no intention of setting foot in a store for the next week.
Not bump related whatsoever, but I got into work this morning to read an email from one of our suppliers that his last day of work is Friday. People change jobs, it happens, but.... he's managing one of my projects and it's a complete disaster right now when it's supposed to be wrapping up and going into consumer testing next month. I feel like this project has been on the verge of being canceled for months now b/c they keep promising things to us and not delivering. Honestly, I'm hoping this is the last straw and it just gets killed. It's been making my life miserable for far too long trying to clean up his messes. I mean, good for you, Thomas, but you're leaving me with absolute garbage that I can't move forward with and you're just over there like, "byeeeee!"
My absentee manager suddenly reappeared and told my coworker and I we need to get all these things done over the next week...soooo like Christmas???? Also hi nice to hear from you
@JessDG omg I hate when people have no sense of personal space! A few weeks ago, I was in line at a coffee shop and the guy behind me was SO CLOSE to me and humming the entire time. It was a line that wraps around the side, and even when I got to the register to order, he stepped up directly behind me instead of staying off to the side where the rest of the line was. I almost throat punched him. Back off!
My WTF is I need to buy clothes (because mine are really not starting to fit) and I'm a little salty about it mostly because I'm cheap. On the plus side, there's a destination maternity going out of business/moving near my work and everything is super on sale so I may stock up on things that I'll wear in the next 6.5/7 months.
@pocketrose My thought on this is...you're going to need maternity clothes anyway, so get them now and wear them longer. Get more bang for your buck!
We have a Motherhood Maternity going out of business at an outlet mall about 30 minutes away. I would love to go up there and stock up, but that place is intense crazy pants this time of year.
Wtf part 2 as a follow up to my first post, my coworker said she’s taking off the 24th-1/3. I didn’t even know we were allowed to take that many days off since we always have rules around holiday PTO. God forbid I actually get to see and hang out with my family that I hardly ever get to see (5-6 hours away, not that far but it’s not like anyone besides my parents come visit me and I haven’t gotten to go home since May)...nope, guess I’m stuck with all the work as usual. She’ll be “out of town” aka 45 minutes away at her parents’ house. 🙄
WTF to last minute reports... tomorrow is my last day and will be coming back until 1/2... and now it seems everyone needs reports so now I'll have to work from home the 27th.... Merry Xmas to me
@JessDG I am going to borrow 'intense crazy pants' if that's alright. It may be the best thing I have heard all month.
@b_1029 I personally think all offices should be closed for a week over Christmas, but I only got that when I started at my current job. It sounds like your co-worker is selfish and possibly is working the system a bit. I hope you get some time off.
My WTF is to my skin. It's dry, but also there are these red spots that won't go away that aren't dry skin, I don't know what they are so I don't know what to do about it. Also my hair is a disaster today.
BUT, last night when my husband came home with our daughter, I had the live action version of Beauty and the Beast on tv, and she saw the Emma Watson character as Belle and said "mama!" It made my day lol. Then the beast came on the screen and she said "daddy!" Good thing he wasn't in the room to hear it
@pocketrose do you have a Facebook Buy Nothing group in your neighborhood, or use NextDoor? In the past I’ve gotten 90% of my maternity clothes from neighbors who recently finished having kids. It’s usually in decent shape because people don’t wear them that long. (Also, huge complaint I have is that they often don’t even last the entire pregnancy, since things change so quickly... at least if you’re me and have a ginormous bump). I got rid of all my stuff after last time just because I was so sick of all those clothes I couldn’t look at them anymore.
I’m going to do what I can to get used clothes again, too. Partly because I don’t want to spend money but mostly because our planet is being destroyed and fast fashion / textiles are a big contributor.
WTF to my hemorrhoids. I’ve had them for years and years, but they definitely get worse with pregnancy. They are already deciding to pop up this go round. My butt hurts.
@mayisch Not all M-Maternity are closing. The ones that are the stores are pretty picked over. I've stalked their sales and suspect they'll have another big one week of Christmas/day after. I ended up doing being in the online sales than in the closing store.
@Pascal86 I may eventually post/say I'm interested in things on Buy Nothing but I'm close with a ton of my neighbors and am still not public about being pregnant yet so that may need to wait until January/February lol
After having to unbutton my jeans BEFORE going out for dinner. I came home and bought two different types of maternity jeans and a pair of maternity leggings last night. Excited for them to come
@pocketrose yeah, I’m waiting on that too. I have a mom running group and I want to ask them for clothes but waiting to make sure the first tri goes smoothly.

@JessDG @pocketrose have you girls visited your local stores?

Haha yes, use it all the time!!!
