- Yes! Gerber runs the smallest and Carter I find runs the largest.
- I did not like the kimono shirts or the sleepers with the bottom open. I preferred the full footed or non footed sleepers, zip or snap were fine.
- DD lived in sleepers for the first few months. Outfits were pretty useless until she was older, or unless I had a specific event. However she was a November baby.
- I really loved having the plain white onesies for under the sleepers or outfits. I had long sleeve, short sleeve and sleeveless. I really liked the sleeveless over summer.
- Socks do not stay on until they grow bigger.
- Baby shoes are useless... but so darn cute!
- Spring or early summer garage sales are where it is at for second hand baby clothes. You could also post something in your neighborhood FB (if you have one) asking if anyone has clothes they are looking to get rid of. Keep in mind second hand items tend to run a little small from being washed and worn.
I am not stocking up on anything until sometime next year, most likely will hit up the garage sales in April. I still have all of DD's clothes, although they are the opposite for seasons. Once I find out what I'm having I will go through and see what I should be able to use and have a better idea of what I will need.- BFP: 3/10/16 — Baby Girl born 11/20/16
TTC#2 April 2019What baby apparel will you stock up on?
This all depends on the sex. If it's a girl we saved everything. We'll have the monumental task of going through it all though.
Is there an amount you plan on getting?
I prefer having more than you think you'll need. That way if laundry falls behind it's not a big deal.
Favorite types of baby apparel? Simple onesies. DD lived in jammies for her first few months. It was winter and we went no where. I guess this time will be a little different!!
Favorite brands? Carter's definitely. As DD has gotten older she's worn a decent amount of Jumping Beans. All her winter jackets have been Oshkosh bought on super clearance after the season.
Now that we're finding out the baby's sex tomorrow (!!!) instead of after Christmas, that changes my clothing game plan a little bit. We have all of DD's clothes in storage, so if it's a girl, I will spend Christmas break sorting through all of it and deciding what I really want to keep, especially given that it'll be a completely different season (May baby as opposed to October baby). If it's a boy, I will basically start shopping for adorable boy clothes on Wednesday, lol. I passed on most of our gender-neutral clothes to my SIL, but especially if we're having a boy, I'm planning on trying to get those things back as her daughter grows out of them.
One thing I don't think you can ever have enough of is onesies, so much better when there is a blow out to be able to pull down from the neck and not over the head. But if this baby is a girl I am going to go broke buying all the adorable cute baby girl things.
I have been stocking up on footie pajamas and white & unisex onesies since summer clothing went on clearance, so we're pretty set on clothes through next summer, no matter if it's a boy or a girl.
I'd like to stay with organic, materials for anything we buy new, and I'm told Burt's bees is great, but it also seems expensive.
We're going to avoid buying new as much as we can because like others have said there is so much used clothing available on FB or garage sales.
If this baby is a bit we have mostly gender neutral to get us to 3 months then the girly stuff kicks in. So we will need to buy all new boy stuff. I'll also have to go through all the totes and figure out what we have that a boy could wear and toss things I didn't like the first time around.

although we had quite a few snap pajamas and we were fine with it for MOTN changes. We had a little night light and baby always fell asleep after with little problems
