Re: Group 1 (April 1- 8) Week of 12/2

  • EDD/W+D:  4/2 - 23 weeks

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team pink

Baby is the size of a(n): An eggplant. Although one app told me a mango which another app told me like 3 weeks ago...

Upcoming Appointments: Monthly OB check up tomorrow. Assuming I'll get scheduled for the glucose test next.

How are you feeling? Overall okay but so tired still. Not the same type of tired as the first trimester. Now moreso just because I wake up every hour with hip pain :(  I figured I wouldn't sleep once the baby arrived, not 4-5 months before!

Raves/Rants: My friend managed to corral a bunch of us into a weekend together in early January. Its so hard with our schedules! I'm super grateful she's so pushy, but for all the right reasons. I don't think all of us have been together at the same time in over a year!!

Questions: Is it common to do any prep for the glucose test? One friend who failed the short version said she didn't know she was supposed to not eat sugar the week before. Is that true?

GTKY: What is your favorite part about being married/in a partnership? These days I would definitely say the support. I know I could do this alone but my God it would be WAY more difficult. So much props to single parents. I feel like I have half the energy and half the brain cells I had pre-pregnancy.

  • @liligirl87 lurking from group 2. Last pregnancy, I was just told not to eat a bunch of sugary foods right before the test. They suggested a high protein breakfast. I did my test in the morning and had scrambled eggs for breakfast - passed no problem.

  • @liligirl87 lurking from group 4.  I failed my one hour with DD1 bc I had a cinnamon dulce latte like right before the test.  Like @kathryn0903 said, my doctor suggested eggs and veggies for breakfast at least an hour before the test when I had to go with DD2 and I passed.
  • EDD/W+D:  4/6 - 22W3D

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: PINK

Baby is the size of a(n): Papaya but also as tall as a Trenta Starbucks cup but also as tall as a toothbrush which confuses me...

    Upcoming Appointments: Dec 18th

How are you feeling? RLP is real, constipation is real, sore back and hips...real. All of it is annoying me.

Raves/Rants: Rant, see above. Rave:I love the holiday season!!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite part about being married/in a partnership? It's just amazing to be with someone who has your back and the feeling that they're your #1 and you're theirs.

    Team Pink

Baby is the size of a chinchilla 😊

Upcoming appointments: monthly checkup next week. And some kind of birth or parenting class for 7 (!) hours on Sunday

Feeling: pretty good other than some back and hip aches

Rants/Raves: my work just announced we are getting employer-paid disability insurance!!! Waiting for the details but this will likely mean my maternity leave is somewhat covered rather than 3 months of no money!

Questions: anyone else feel like their belly button is already getting close to sticking out? And is it appropriate to just let the little bump of it show through my fitted clothes? I assume it’s not like having pointy nipples showing 😂🤷‍♀️ But honestly don’t know who makes these societal rules. Everyone has nipples and a belly button!

GTKY: my husband is my favorite person on the planet. I love his mind and who he is. A friend was laughing once at some Oprah special where a wife decided to stay with her husband who transitioned to female - they thought it was incomprehensible - but I totally get it. I would want to spend the rest of my life with him no matter what. Finding unconditional love like that is the luckiest thing in the world.
  • EDD/W+D:  April 5th / 22+5

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut 🥥

Upcoming Appointments: Not till Jan. My OB is away this month and I’m a L&D nurse so I basically can do my own appt at work. 😂

How are you feeling? Great! My biggest complaint has always been the acne and I feel like my face is almostttt back to normal.. so I’m feeling way more confident!

Raves/Rants: My itchy belly currently!! Lotioning like crazy. I also can’t stop eating.

@independentgeorge thats so funny you mention belly buttons and nipples. My friend and I were talking about both of those things today! I feel like my belly button will be just gone soon.. it’s getting much more shallow. And the nipples .. I asked my friend if she could see my nipples through my shirt because I noticed I could once through the day. Then we were talking about why is it weird anyways because everyone has nipples.. would be weird not to have nipples! 😂

GTKY: What is your favorite part about being married/in a partnership? He is basically the male version of me. It’s just so amazing to have such a close relationship with someone that they know you inside and out and just to feel 100% yourself around them. This pregnancy has made us even closer!
  • EDD/W+D:  April 7 / 22 weeks + 3 days

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): a coconut, and as tall as a box of Mac & Cheese

    Upcoming Appointments: December 19

How are you feeling? I’ve been starting to feel more uncomfortable. It feels like baby is growing and pushing all of my organs out of the way (which I suppose is exactly what is happening!). I have also been feeling nauseous and gagging after meals like in the first trimester for no good reason...

Raves/Rants: This. Week. Has. Been. Stressful. Our office is moving across town (closer to me, yay!), so that has been a whole mess of chaos. On top of that, on my last commute on the interstate, a semitruck rolled backward into me during a section of slow/stopped traffic and then left the scene, so I have also been dealing with police reports, insurance, and car repairs this week...Mostly, I am just so grateful I am okay and baby is okay. Hearing a strong heartbeat the next morning was such a relief!

Questions: Anyone have a plan for a baby shower yet?

GTKY: What is your favorite part about being married/in a partnership? My favorite part is having a partner who understands me so well. I know my husband loves and supports me no matter what! He also keeps me grounded and encourages me to be my best. I think I would be a very different person without him!
  • @liligirl87 Thanks for asking this question! I’ve also been wondering about tips for the glucose test!

@independentgeorge I’m not quite there yet, but I say let that belly button show! You’ve earned it! 😊
