Feeling a bit overwhelmed with this baby arriving so soon! Feb seems far away but this baby should be here in less than 9 weeks! (I’ve never made it to 39 weeks and will likely be induced if I do) panic is starting to set in with 3 kids 3 and under.
My h is off today which is Especially awesome bc he usually works late on Mondays.
@clee5711, I'm feeling some panic too. With DD we were so much more prepared by this point and with the holidays coming I feel like nothing will get done until January!
Feeling annoyed with work. Came back to a mountain of work after the holiday. Rather than decreasing and tapering off, my workload seems to be increasing. I feel like this is the time during the last 8-10 weeks where I should be taking it especially easy and instead I'm being served up a boatload of extra stress. I'm trying really really hard to just work at a moderate pace and let people know what I won't be getting to. Nope, not the time to try to cram stuff in before the new year. Nope nope nope.
@craftywitch I feel you! We have 2 huge projects due on the 20th and one of them we may not even have back from the client until the week before! And even if it's their fault we get it late from them, they demand it still be finished by their deadline for us. 🙄
My random for today is that I'm finally excited about Christmas. I don't care about getting presents, I love gifting things more. I bought my 4 niblings their gifts today! Got them each a gift card to a pottery painting studio and a gift card to Red Robin so they can make a fun day out of my present! Wish they lived closer so I could take them and have fun too!
@daffodil_shoe organizing baby clothes sounds fun. I should go through the newborn-0-3 bin to see if there is anything I actually need and it will make me teary and excited for this baby. The panic is mostly about making sure I get to the hospital in time and being home alone with three small kiddos.
I started taking Pepcid last week because my heartburn was terrible after very little food. I took it for a few days, got "cocky", and decided not to take it today yet had spaghetti. I am completely regretting my decision and have learned from my mistake.
I’m majorly feeling the nesting urge. It’s manifesting itself as me wanting to decorate for Christmas! I usually get my tree the day after thanksgiving but we were in CO with H’s fam then he went straight to NY for work. So I’m alone this week and can’t manage getting a tree on my own then my shower is Sat so we have to wait till Sunday to put it up and it’s making me craaaazyyyy. Ans yesterday H says “are you sure you even want to get a tree if we’re only going to be here until Dec 20th?” YES!
@nhh11 Too funny about the nesting urge and not getting to "scratch the itch" until the weekend haha!
Also getting the nesting urge. DH called our realtor this morning and told him that we aren't trying to rush him but there's a sense of urgency since if we got an accepted offer by this weekend it would put us into the first week of February. And apparently they were making fun of me because I'm "nesting" and can't do anything. I've legit sorted out all our baby stuff so far like 5 times? And since we don't really have a space in our current house cleared out yet - all the baby stuff is stashed in a big dresser lol. OYE.
Our time off system is on crack today. I swore I’d taken all my time off (or had it scheduled out already). I go to double check and it tells me I have 16 hours. So I put in for two more days and now it’s saying my balance is 33 hours. WTF

Ughhhh, my joints are officially loosening up. Relaxin makes my joints so loose and it makes my hip joints so painful to do things like sit or walk or lay down. 10 weeks to go with this pain.
So we have 5 3-year olds coming to Bells' birthday party saturday, it seems like a good amount. I got some foam crowns for them all to decorate as a craft but besides that it will be freeplay. I figured it couldn't get too out of control with foam crown stickers but I am prepared to be impressed. Still need cupcakes and pizza and they all get those party noisemakers, the parents are gonna hate me I even got a kids' plastic picnic table for them to eat on in the dining room because they can hop in and out easily and we only have 4 dining chairs. We have some foldable ones but I thought one would certainly fall. I figured we could reuse it outside in the summer so not a total waste of $?

Oh my gosh, we have been so busy this last weekend getting everything ready for the appraisal. Just got our appraisal back and I am SO happy that it appraised more than I anticipated. I was shocked, because we haven't really updated much the last 9 years. And per our lender, the closing will be here in next week instead of the estimated 12/20 date. So I am so glad this is all going so smoothly and will be over soon.
And I finally gave into my BFF and sister, and they are now throwing me a shower. I realllllly hate being center of attention. But thankful they are wanting to celebrate my little man, so I am sucking it up.
Just dropped most of our Christmas cards in the mail! Hubs realized last night that he forgot to tell me to add a few people to the list so we have another small batch that will have to go out but I'm so excited to start sending them yearly! Side story, my Aunt has always sent super elaborate Christmas cards/newsletters (like one year she sent a pill bottle with m&ms and their newsletter...imagine the shock of opening a mailbox to a random pill bottle haha) and they almost always arrive like the day after Thanksgiving. She's pissed this year because they all had to be hand cancelled and people haven't gotten them yet. And my Aunt is the calmest person I know!
@babyroma I loooove Christmas cards. I usually am the first person to send them out too, but this year I’m behind. I addressed some last night and need to finish them tonight.

It just hit me today how close we're getting to delivery, ladies! I'll be induced at 39 weeks, so that gives me 8 weeks to go. It's scary when I start thinking about it in terms of weekends left to get stuff done.
@lanie1000 it has hit me this last week also. Monday I bought the carseat, bassinet and ordered my breast pump because I had none of that yet and had a minor freakout about it. And then I had an OB appt yesterday, and scheduled all my remaining appointments and then it really set in how fast it is coming. It is crazy how fast this pregnancy has flown by!
@bg122785 Thanks for reminding me about the breast pump. I haven't ordered mine yet. I already have a medela freestyle from baby #1, so I think I'll go for the spectra this time around. Which one did you decide on?
@bg122785 It held up really well given it was used 2,000+ times. I exclusively pumped for just over a year and it never let me down. I was basically attached at the hip to that thing. I never felt like I had any issues with suction. I figure I'll try the Spectra out and if it doesn't work I know I have my trusty Medela to fall back on.
@lanie1000 yes it’s crazy! we are all getting so close! We had two preemies in my last bmb— obviously I want everyone’s little ones to stay put for now. But it’s crazy to think we’re getting to the end
Anybody have an extra snuggly furbaby? Lola has definitely been 100x more affectionate with me while pregnant (she's always been a nice cat..she just prefers to love on DH!) I'm not sure baby is so thrilled with this turn of events because I feel her kicking but yet kitty is just there hanging out purring and casually whacking me in the face with her tail.
@babyroma your kitty looks just like ours! So cute! She sleeps with us every night. I love her snuggles but have been kicking her off lately because I'm so uncomfortable! They must sense it somehow. She comes right back anyway! We also have 2 puppers but they are cuddle bugs so who knows if that is different 🤷
@babyroma, your cat looks like my childhood cat named Tigger. I also laughed at the mental image of baby kicking cat from inside and the cat just continuing to chill there on your stomach.
@foreveronyourside she splits her time sleeping at DH's feet and her bed on the dresser next to me. I probably toss and turn too much for her to be next to me!
@jvk2012 I think the best part of her just hanging when baby kicked particularly hard, she turned and looked at me like I was the one who did it!
Today at work, a radiology tech told me I “look big to be due in February.”
Why don’t I have the balls to say “wow that was rude”? Instead I said “Yah well this is my second so I popped faster, and I’m short so he has no where to go but out.”
@daffodil_shoe - I don't think it isn't that you don't have the balls to respond, its just that you are so unprepared and flabbergasted that someone would say that to you! I've gotten it this time too.
@lanie1000 - ooh the Madela freestyle is on my list of pumps to check out from insurance. So far I'm also considering the Madela Sonata and the Ameda Mya which uses the same bottles as the spectra, which isn't great because I have mostly Madela bottles but I do have the adaptors, since I have the Spectra and the Madela PIS from last time around. There are 13 on the list, but they do not coordinate the Elvie and I was hoping to get one. They are 10% off right now. Maybe I will get the Freestyle or the Mya with Freemies? So confusing even for a STM.

@daffodil_shoe one of these days when someone says that to me they are going to get my raging hormone response! Lol NO SUSAN IM NOT PREGNANT IM JUST FAT AND YOU'RE JUST RUDE! 😜🤪 Shame on that tech!
