Re: Group 2 Check-In week of 11/25 (6-7-6/13)

  • We missed last week so it’s time ladies! Calling all lurkers for group 2!

    EDD/weeks+days: 6/12 so 11+3

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: we’ll find out

Baby is the size of a(n): cream puff

Upcoming appointments: 12/4 and 12/5 with immunologist (Lupus) and then MFMs

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling?  Some days are better than others. Today is hard yesterday was good. Still can’t eat chicken. Coffee still makes me feel sick. I just really want to be able to eat Thanksgiving food on Thursday. On the bright side, everything looks really good with baby and my blood counts so we are hoping things will continue looking boring as my doctors put it :)

Questions: anyone else switching over to maternity pants yet? Hair tie trick just isn’t doing it anymore.

Also, anyone else just tired of keeping it a secret when they feel absolutely terrible? I  don’t remember being this annoyed about it last time but definitely am this time

GTKY: all our family actually lives in town now (ILs moved this spring) so we think we can see several groups actually.  Feeling a little bitter though this year. We alternate with my family and my husbands family but we never get to see both sides of my extended family for holidays ever but husbands family doesn’t even do extended gatherings. Basically I never get to see some of my cousins and aunts/uncles but we see his parents and brother all the time so it’s not special on the holidays when I could be seeing relatives that only come in once a year. Just a little extra disappointed this year...also I miss big extended family food gatherings with more offerings. Sorry rant over. We’re with the in laws

  • Shameless Lurker/busy mom of 3 (I know, I know, bad excuse because who isn’t busy....)

    EDD/weeks+days: 11w 6d

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: we will find out if possible (as in, if the tech can see.) I live in Canada and my 20 week scan is coming up but if they can’t see, we aren’t paying for any extra scans just to find out.  We actually never found out with our first 3 so we are excited to find out this time.

Baby is the size of a(n): plum

Upcoming appointments: had my 12 week ultrasound today. Everything looked great! Praise God! So thankful. Midwife next week.

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling? Oh so tired..... nausea has gone except for random bouts in the evening once in a while, but oh man.... I can hardly make it through the days lately..... 😴😴😴😴😴

Questions:  I am pretty close to switching to maternity pants. I’m wearing some of my post partum jeans and they are still doing the trick for now.
And we actually announce our pregnancies right away and I’m thankful for the very reason! I can look and feel miserable and people aren’t expecting me to be any different.  Lol

GTKY: what’s your plan for the holidays?

I am Canadian, so Thanksgiving happened back in October for us. Christmas is going to be busy. We have the largest house, and so we are hosting hubby’s family gathering here (18 people total) Then we have Christmas Eve service, wake up in the morning and have breakfast and presents with our 3 kids and then head to my parents where we have my family gathering. I’m one of 9 kids so there are about 30 of us in total, although not all will make it)
  • EDD/weeks+days: 11 + 4

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green, if we can handle the suspense!

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

Upcoming appointments: nothing until Dec 9th

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling?: feeling much better. Have more energy but it doesn't last long. I can be moderately active one day, and the next day I am totally wiped out! I also think I'm dealing with indigestion? It doesn't burn like heartburn, but I almost always feel like I have something creeping up my throat. It's disgusting.

Questions: None of my own! To answer previous questions, I bought a couple of pair of maternity pants the other day (this is baby #3 so I'm pudging up quicker, but this was a surprise so I have no pants in storage) and I loved the comfy panel, but they didn't fit my legs quite right. I was tugging at them all evening. Looks like I'll have to stick with the hair tie trick for a bit longer while I search for the perfect pair of maternity jeans.

GTKY: what’s your plan for the holidays?
We had one dinner already, our next one (possibly two) will be on Thanksgiving day.

  • EDD/weeks+days: 6/12 / 11w 4d

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out. Impatiently waiting for NIPT + gender results from a blood draw on 11/15.

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime

Upcoming appointments: I had my NT scan yesterday at 11+3. The tech said it might be too early to get accurate measurements and see everything they wanted, but all results were good! Saw all limbs, the heart beating, nasal bone, and brain quadrants. The results from NIPT will hopefully confirm low risk for genetic disorders.

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling?: I hope the NIPT results come in today or tomorrow because I can't wait until next Monday! Feeling ok - having a hard time falling back asleep when I wake up to pee in the middle of the night.

Questions: I have been wearing the BLANQI maternity leggings for weeks now. I just ordered a second pair since they're 50% for Black Friday!

GTKY: what’s your plan for the holidays?
Dinner at my mom's for Thanksgiving. My mother-in-law will come to that, too. We all live in the same town so I'm glad we don't have to travel.

  • EDD/weeks+days: 11+5

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  will find out after the nipt

Baby is the size of a(n): uhh i think it said macaroon today?

Upcoming appointments: nipt on Thursday! Excited because it comes with an us and I really hope to see that baby is okay.

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling? Worried about baby this time around because I feel completely normal... With my second I was sick sick sick at least until 15 weeks. First I was sick too, but not as bad. I keep reading the nausea gets worse everytime so I'm freaking out that I'm totally fine. My mom says just enjoy it and I know I should but I'm having a worrier...

Questions: I guess if anyone else has had the lack of sick in later pregnancies...? Maternity pants - I've been in them for about 2 weeks now and I can't hide my baby belly anymore. Had to tell my yoga class (I teach), because it was so obvious.

GTKY: what’s your plan for the holidays? We live in Europe so more no Thanksgiving, but my brother is here this week from the US, so we're catching up. My mom comes to visit mid December also from the US so that'll be awesome on many many fronts.
  • EDD: 6/11 11 weeks 5 days

Baby is the size of: a macaroon

Upcoming appointments: December 3 can’t wait

Raves/rants/how are you feeling?: Right now I have a terrible cold so I feel miserable. Otherwise I still gag or throw up every time I brush my teeth, have horrible heartburn, and cry about everything.

Questions: luckily I am a nurse and scrub pants are forgiving. Otherwise I’ve been living in leggings. I can’t wait to get to the point that I look pregnant instead of just rounder lol

GTKY: I work on Thanksgiving. I will be enjoying leftovers on Friday though.
  • EDD/weeks+days:  June 7, 12w2d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  team green!

Baby is the size of a(n): I think a plum?

Upcoming appointments: I had my nuchal ultrasound and NIPT today.  It was neat seeing baby moving around so much! I don't have another appt until 12/23.

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling? I'm feeling great! Nausea is gone, knock on wood, and energy is coming back.
Rant: the ultrasound tech shamed me this morning because I opted to get only the sequential screening and not the Panarama.  She made me feel like an awful mom for not getting to know.  It would have cost us $249, and while I understand it's more accurate, it is my choice to opt out.  I was fuming with the way she was speaking to me! Thank God it's my 3rd pregnancy(1st with this practice), otherwise if I was a ftm I would have been a mess!

    Questions:  none

GTKY: what’s your plan for the holidays?  Thanksgiving is at my in-laws this year.  Blah.  I wish I could drink wine to make it more bearable.  Then we will get together with my family on Saturday to do a low key celebration and will prob get Chinese food.

  • EDD/weeks+days: 11w5d

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out! (Was supposed to find out today, but didn't because the company messed up; more in "Rants".)

Baby is the size of a(n): My app says "brussels sprout", but I read other ladies my week call it "cream puff" and "macaroon" on this forum, and those are just so much tastier.

Upcoming appointments: Had an appointment today. We didn't get an US but heard the heart beat. The doctor had a hard time picking it up because I kept giggling and it messed up the doppler. :p

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling? RANT: So, we did the panorama test last week and expected the results (chromosomal abnormalities + sex) at today's appointment. We walk in and it turns out the company doing the test was confused about "which test we wanted" and so didn't test the blood. 1) Why are you confused when we indicated panorama on your form? 2) Why did you wait a freaking week to ask? ...grrrr...

    Questions: None!

GTKY: what’s your plan for the holidays? We both live far away from our parents (other side of the country & other country) so we're hosting a couple of friends for thanksgiving dinner. These are close friends so we plan on telling them at dinner on Thursday!
  • @lwhrmomma wow! What a terrible woman! Like, as if it’s any of her business!
I mean, I guess I’m a truly terrible mom since I have forgone the testing with all 4 of my pregnancies.
  • @lwhrmomma I'm at my third practice and have had a different practice each pregnancy... First was great, but we moved abroad. The second was horrible and now I have another awesome practice. I so often remember last pregnancy saying exactly that if I was a ftm this would be so awful, unacceptable, inappropriate, etc etc. I'm so happy I found a better practice this time.

  • EDD/weeks+days: 11w 4 days

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

Upcoming appointments: midwife tomorrow:) should be the first time to hear the heart beat.

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling? Nausea and smells are getting slightly better. Not out of the woods but less moments of yuck.

Questions: are those blanq maternity leggings better than Normal ones?

GTKY: what’s your plan for the holidays? i am Canadian so thanksgiving is over for us. Christmas we will be staying home because my husband is on call. Just a quiet Christmas at home.

  • EDD/weeks+days: 12w 3 days

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): plum

    Upcoming appointments: in 3 weeks

Raves/Rants/how are you feeling? Constantly congested, daily headaches and mood swings. Anxiety on 1000

Questions: where can we find free pregnancy stuff? And also, can the genetic testing gender test be wrong?

GTKY: this is my 4th baby, really wanted a girl so I could have 2 and 2. I'm really struggling since I'm bipolar and have severe anxiety so I've been taken off some of my meds. I need coping tips
  • @msfree2u I’m sorry you’re having a hard time! A friend of mine had to go off her anxiety meds for pregnancy and it was really hard on her. The best tips she had were to take it one minute at a time when it gets really bad. I know some of the other month clubs also have boards for mental health check ins. Reading back on some of those might provide some help too.

As far as gender, I believe the tests administered by doctors (as in not sneak peak) are extremely accurate. We do have a gender disappointment thread going for those who found out but were hoping for the other. Posting in there and reading through might be reassuring too.
