IF Testing & Treatment w/o 11/25

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

  • @feather_heather I'm so glad you are back <3 I have GAD as well so you are not alone. Talking to an unbiased third party can absolutely help. Seeing a counselor really helped me when I first started teaching. I'm a perfectionist with fear of being judged (what a good profession for me to choose!). I know it is frustrating to wait to see someone, but hopefully you can find another therapist who can take you sooner. In the meantime, meditation can help. Just taking a few moments when you need them to calm yourself is so helpful. Close your eyes, focus on your breathing and let thoughts come and go. Fx for everything going to plan!
  • @inthewoods23 Thanks, friend! I'm sorry you and YH got into it. I think therapy is a good thing even if someone doesn't feel particularly low. Kind of like maintenance on your car; you do it to decrease the likelihood of a problem later on. I hope your insurance will cover it. I'm with you on the Thanksgiving sides. DH's aunts are amazing cooks and there are so many delicious things to eat that the turkey falls to the wayside.
  • @meri-mac I'm so sorry you're getting the intrusive questions, I'm hoping that soon you'll have good news to "hide" instead of the opposite. <3

@feather_heather glad you're jumping back into it all. So many internet hugs! I know we're in the same general state, not sure what RE practice you're using, but I know my GYN gave me a list of names of therapists when I got my IF diagnosis, and my RE practice has a counseling center as well. I just hate that they're making you wait until February!!

@inthewoods23 So many hugs, friend. Sometimes the hardest part is getting it started.

@nitnat007 So sorry you're feeling uncomfortable!! Hopefully you get great eggs out of it!!! <3

  • @meri-mac I am keeping only good and wonderful thoughts going for you and I am so hoping you get that + beta tomorrow! <3

@feather_heather that is extremely frustrating, and I am so sorry you are put in that position of having to wait when you need help and have asked for help. That is INSANE that there are no openings until February. I think it's a good idea for you to call your insurance for a list of other providers that you can go to. Please take care of yourself as much as you possibly can. <3

@inthewoods23 I'm so sorry about the fight with YH. They are never easy but I think it's wonderful he did some research for you and then asked if you would consider going instead of just saying "Here... call this number and do this!". I hope you do call sooner rather than later. <3

@nitnat007 So glad you are responding so well to the stims!! Things seem to be progressing nicely for you :)

@ellieemc26 I'm not really sure I'm following what you are saying about family getting in the way of the IUI. But if you had the procedure done then it's up to the boys to do their job and find the egg! That part is done so now you just wait, which is the hardest part, but maybe it's not such a bad thing that your mind is distracted on other things because then you won't focus on every little thing you feel... right?

@mvt2003 that is wonderful that YH is so open and excited for the help from the meds. When do you find out if they are working? How does that process work... by another SA? I really hope this helps him in some way <3

  • @kpearse99 FX for this IUI for you, friend!!!!! My preliminary research tells me that Clomid actually takes a while to work for men, we probably won't see results for a couple of months. We're having his testosterone retested in 2 months just before his follow-up appointment, so we'll have an idea of the hormone level. I'm not sure if the plan will be to re-do the SA at that time, or if we'll just find out when we start IVF? I think I'll probably have to wait until January to start IVF anyway, so hopefully we'll see a better number by then!

  • @kpearse99 FX for your IUI!  You’re right, the distraction of family nonsense during the TWW is probably a blessing in disguise!  I guess I just imagined two weeks of pampering myself and being super zen, wishful thinking at the holidays!
  • @misshelen86 I hope so much for you that you are not still TTGP when your SIL starts trying. I'm sending you a lot of hugs, love and strength, my friend. You deserve so much happiness <3

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS & Unexplained RPL

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), TI, and Progesterone after O.

How are things going?: Doing well! MH is actually super hopeful for this cycle, and he is normally the one that keeps reality in check...so I’m afraid it will be a major letdown for both of us if this is not our cycle! I’m not temping during the TWW, so I’m hoping that’ll make me a little less crazy since my temps with the progesterone last month were very misleading!

    Any questions?: None right now.

GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? Dressing (that’s what we call it since we don’t stuff it in the turkey)!

@meri-mac I may be too late, but I’ve had everything crossed for you...I hope you get the best news!!
@feather_heather so sorry you can’t see a therapist until February! I hope contacting your insurance provider will help you find someone that you can see sooner! I hope everything works out to have your transfer the week of Christmas!
@inthewoods23 so sorry for the fight with YH, that was sweet of him to find someone who could help. I hope it works out with your insurance if you feel like talking things out could help!
@nitnat007 sorry for the bloating, but I’m glad the meds are working and you have a good number of progressing follies!! I forget, are you planning for a fresh or frozen transfer?
@ellieemc26 I hope the family stuff settles down and you can have some me-time soon!
@mvt2003 I’m glad YH is still excited about the Clomid, I hope it helps!! Sending positive vibes that the prolactin will be good when it gets re-checked...I like the plan to “surprise” him with it, hopefully it won’t be so stressful on him that way! So glad you were able to share about IVF with your boss and it went well, that has to be a weight lifted!
@kpearse99 so glad the IUI went well and YH’s motility improved! Good job on convincing him to get the +1 in! Everything crossed for you!
@emeraldduchess so glad things worked out to do the medicated/monitored cycle!  I truly hope you don’t need another IUI and you can get off of the roller coaster with this cycle!!
@misshelen86 I hope you get good results at your repeat HSG on Friday! I’m so sorry you are in this period of waiting, but hopefully addressing the issues now will help things go quickly/smoothly once you start treatment! I truly hope you are KU before your SIL starts trying in April!!
@pom9207 fingers crossed for a good follie check today!!
@nytino24 sorry for the chest heaviness, hope that goes away once you are done with the meds! I so hope you can get off of this roller coaster soon as well! Everything crossed this is your cycle!
  • @meri-mac fx for you!

@NYTino24 sorry about the side effect of letrozole. Hope IF will become a distant memory soon :)

@bluetickgal glad that YH is feeling hopeful this cycle; hope not temping can help TWW to be less stressful!

AFM, follicle check this morning showed I have one 15mm on my right ovary, and a couple of 11-13mm on both sides. The doctor was a little bit concerned and said we should refrain from intercourse until the next check up shows we have fewer leading follicles.

@bluetickgal I love that YH is super hopeful about this cycle, I agree I don't want it to be in a way where it's getting hopes up, but it's so good to be hopeful and optimistic. <3 I want this one to be it for you guys so badly!!

ohh I forgot to mention I am on CD10 today!
