In the spirit of this holiday week, what are you thankful for? I think it does beyond saying that we’re all thankful for our growing little babes, but what makes you take the time to say “Wow, I’m grateful”.
That this LO is looking great in the genetics dept and that my daughter is a heart warrior who kicked open heart surgery ass last year and is doing amazing and that while the loss of our son was terrible-as a family we made it through the loss and are continuing to honor him together.
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
I’m thankful for maternity clothes that are actually comfortable right now. I’m thankful that I’m starting to feel baby girl move more regularly, which is reassuring, and that everything has looked great with her so far. I’m thankful that I get to spend Thanksgiving in the happiest place on Earth (literally as I’m going to Disney World tomorrow) and that DH will be with me most of the time so that I don’t straight murder my mom on the trip as she is already driving me crazy.
*TW* after years of infertility and then finally getting pregnant with out last frozen embryo from our first IVF cycle in 2018, in which we lost DD as she was stillborn - my DH and I have come through a lot in the last year + in terms of healing and learning to move forward. We made the difficult decision to try IVF one more time and are now pregnant with our little boy / girl twins. We talk about DD all the time and how these are her twin siblings. We can’t believe we’ll have 3 children - 1 in heaven and (hopefully) 2 here on earth. DH and I are so grateful for our parents. DH’s dad had a bone marrow transplant late 2018 and my dad went through chemo and extensive radiation in 2018 and has had clear scans all of 2019. And though my mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer this past summer she has an excellent prognosis as it was caught early (she only had surgery to remove the lump and then radiation - no chemo!). So, we have a lot to be grateful for. ❤️
As I raise my own children, I become increasingly more thankful for my own parents because they were such an amazing example of what good parenting was. Their voices are my mentors as I navigate motherhood so far away from them. Im also extremely grateful for my hot hot hot husband. He is my living proof that soulmates exist.
I am thankful for the experience of carrying this child, for a husband who understands me and loves me in a way I never could have imagined, parents who are encouraging and supportive, a sibling and friends who cheer me on and lift me up, coworkers who are team players, and a shorter commute coming very very soon as our office moves 10 minutes from our house in early December.
I’m thankful for my husband and his ability to comfort me when my hormones have gone haywire. I’m thankful for my family and all of their love and support that it takes to raise a child. I’m thankful for a healthy anatomy scan for our little babe and a healthy pregnancy so far!
