Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o 11/25
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Beta tomorrow
How are things going?: The progesterone and estrogen is making me sleepy and people keep asking me if I'm pregnant. I spoke openly about IVF to help remove the stigma around infertility, but I regret it now. DH was right. If people know something big is going on in your life, that is all they will ask about. I should have learned that from the wedding. I have been telling the people who know that no matter what the result of the beta we are keeping it to ourselves for a bit. That way if it is good news we can enjoy it just us two. If it is bad then it will be our sorrow.
Any questions?: No.
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? Since my mom retired, she makes her own stuffing and it is amazing! We've already had it in October (Canadian Thanksgiving), but it will come around again at Christmas.
Diagnosis (if you've been): endometriosis, borderline PCOS, unexplained infertility
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): down cycling for 10-14 days on BC currently
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF - first frozen transfer
How are things going?: Alright. I'm back after my week long hiatus... I came to the realization that my anxiety is morphing into depression and I need help (too much going on in my life all at once). I called my PCP and they gave me a referral to see a psychiatrist at the hospital (there's about 12 doctors) and the earliest appointment isn't until the end of February. So frustrating that I'm finally admitting I need to see someone, and then being told well you'll have to wait two and half months. I'm going to try contacting my insurance company and getting a list of providers to call. I've been diagnosed and medicated for GAD in the past, but stopped taking anything when we started ttgp. I suppose I could see a therapist and see if just talking with someone will help. Still waiting to here from my insurance on this frozen cycle, but if all goes to plan the transfer will be sometime the week of Christmas.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? I love stuffing too! However I'm allergic to poultry, so I can't do turkey or most stuffings on thanksgiving. Luckily my husband's aunt hosts and she makes me a separate stuffing that I can eat!
@feather_heather a therapist is probably a good place to start. DH actually gave me a recommendation because I think he's finally realized "you need help because you need to stop crying all the time". I'm hoping through some conversation we can determine if meds are needed or not because once enough time has passed I'm completely fine but idk if that's really a good thing. There's a mental health thread that got pushed back to the pages of unknown that I'll probably bump up at some point today. May be a good place for you.
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, low morph
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WF biopsy
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I start meds up again in about a week for the biopsy in January
How are things going?: gonna sound like a broken record after @feather_heather. Got in a fight with DH on Saturday and he asked a friend who's a social worker for a recommendation on a therapist. He actually said "if I give you a recommendation, will you go talk to them?". I might wait until next week to call, but I should probably do it now before I forget. That's always how things go, you push them back because you don't need that help right now. I plan on checking if the therapist is covered under our insurance, hence why I'm thinking I won't call them til next week.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? My favorite has always been the mash potatoes! Honestly I eat more sides than I do the turkey

@feather_heather That is so frustrating that yo have to wait so long for help. I really hope that you are able to contact someone through your insurance and cut down the wait time. Our mental health takes a beating through this process and it is good for all of us to take a minute and check in on that front. I know I feel it too.
Allergic to poultry?! Do you make a ham or something else? Or do you eat meat at all?
@inthewoods23 Sorry to hear that friend. You have been through so much over the last while though, so it is understandable that tension is running high. It was nice of him to reach out and get a recommendation though. I hope that it is someone that you are able to open up to and talk freely with.
I love me some mash potatoes too! And all the gravy!
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, MFI (low morph)
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): beached whale
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF
How are things going?: We are on day 9 tonight of stims. Starting to feel a little bloated and uncomfortable. Undoing the top button of my pants is now my new favorite thing to do when I walk in the door. To hell with the bra! Scan this morning, we are looking at roughly 16 so far. All progressing roughly at the same rate with the biggest being 12mm. So probably have another 3-4 days of stims I would guess.
Any questions?:
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? Stuffing is always a winner. But I have discovered not all stuffing is created equal. I like the simple more dry version, like my mom makes. MIL does not make it the way I like it lol.
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA and MFI
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI done, on progesterone during TWW
How are things going?: okay. I’ve had some unanticipated anxiety due to family stuff and I’m just not feeling a strong sense about how this IUI will go one way or the other. I sort of feel like the process has been interrupted by family, even though it’s still going on, if that makes any sense! I guess I just haven’t been able to focus on myself as much as I was hoping to help the process.
Any questions?: so about when to test. My doc said 2 weeks which puts me at a week from tomorrow but my MIL will be at the house next Monday and Tuesday and I don’t want to test when she’s there. Sunday would be two weeks from my trigger shot and I believe it’s still possible I could get a false positive then, is that right?
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? So all about the stuffing! Any stuffing, all the stuffing!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): RE appointment 12/9
How are things going?: OK, I'm getting some of the holiday sads, hoping that having a plan with the RE helps. I've got 2 5ks between now and my RE appointment, so I'm also hoping that will be a distraction.
MH is still totally pumped about Clomid, he's taken two doses so far, and is very excited. I'm hopeful that it will help him feel better (and maaaaybe his count as well?) I appreciate all of the love and support I got last week when this dx came through, and I'm trying hard to remain calm about the prolactin. We're going for our physicals tomorrow and I may "surprise" him and take him to the lab after the appointment to have the prolactin redone, maybe the element of surprise will eliminate some of the stress?
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving?: I'm all about the mashed potatoes and stuffing! My MiL makes a decent stuffing, so that's good for Thanksgiving. We don't really have a family recipe, so I'm not super picky about it.

@feather_heather glad you're jumping back into it all. So many internet hugs! I know we're in the same general state, not sure what RE practice you're using, but I know my GYN gave me a list of names of therapists when I got my IF diagnosis, and my RE practice has a counseling center as well. I just hate that they're making you wait until February!!
@inthewoods23 So many hugs, friend. Sometimes the hardest part is getting it started.
@nitnat007 So sorry you're feeling uncomfortable!! Hopefully you get great eggs out of it!!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): 7.5 of Letrozole, Trigger, IUI and Crinone starting on Wednesday.
How are things going?: Really good! IUI was yesterday and it went really smoothly. DH's numbers decreased again though, which is a little discouraging but the RE wasn't worried at all and his motility increased significantly so that's a major plus! His numbers this time were: 10mil (they were 40mil and 20mil the last two times) and his motility was at 99% (last two times it was at 80%)! So overall, still really good numbers and I know that the motility is the most important so we are pretty solid on that front. I also got DH to agree to getting a +1 in today, so I'm really happy about that!
Any questions?: Nope - maybe after I start the progesterone though!
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? Mashed Potatoes with Gravy for sure!!! mmmmmm I could eat them all day every day!

@feather_heather that is extremely frustrating, and I am so sorry you are put in that position of having to wait when you need help and have asked for help. That is INSANE that there are no openings until February. I think it's a good idea for you to call your insurance for a list of other providers that you can go to. Please take care of yourself as much as you possibly can.
@inthewoods23 I'm so sorry about the fight with YH. They are never easy but I think it's wonderful he did some research for you and then asked if you would consider going instead of just saying "Here... call this number and do this!". I hope you do call sooner rather than later.
@nitnat007 So glad you are responding so well to the stims!! Things seem to be progressing nicely for you
@ellieemc26 I'm not really sure I'm following what you are saying about family getting in the way of the IUI. But if you had the procedure done then it's up to the boys to do their job and find the egg! That part is done so now you just wait, which is the hardest part, but maybe it's not such a bad thing that your mind is distracted on other things because then you won't focus on every little thing you feel... right?
@mvt2003 that is wonderful that YH is so open and excited for the help from the meds. When do you find out if they are working? How does that process work... by another SA? I really hope this helps him in some way

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): well, our insurance hasn't approved a second IUI, so we are going to wait until next cycle to do a second one. For now it'll be TI w/progesterone post O. I did leave a voicemail asking if a medicated/monitored cycle was a possibility, so we'll see. Has anyone done something like that before?
How are things going?: Eh. Not thrilled that we have to wait another cycle before a second procedure, but maybe I will be a snowflake and won't need it. Ha. ❄
Any questions?: I don't think so. Unless they decide to medicate me (fx...I need to get the hell out of TTGP. I love you ladies with all my heart, but I want off this rollercoaster!)
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? Mashed potatoes with gravy for sure. I do love cranberry sauce, though.
@feather_heather That’s so frustrating about the long wait. I think it would definitely be worth it if you can find someone to talk things through with in the meantime. Hugs!
@inthewoods23 Sorry to hear you’re struggling as well, but I think it’s worth it to have someone you can talk to. You’ve certainly been through a lot these last few months. Sending hugs!
@nitnat007 Woohoo that’s a great number! Sorry you’re getting uncomfortable but FX it will all be worth it!
@ellieemc26 Sorry you haven’t been able to focus on yourself as much as you’d like and that you’ve been having some anxiety. Hope everything is okay with your family. Please remember to take time for yourself if that’s what you need.
@mvt2003 Stay strong! I get how hard it is to stay calm when you have abnormal test results, especially when they could indicate something serious. That sounds like a great idea doing a surprise lab visit. Thinking of you and sending hugs your way!
@kpearse99 Yay for IUI being done! That’s fantastic motility! FX for you! Hope the next two weeks fly by!
@emeraldduchess Sorry you’ll have to wait another cycle for your next IUI. So frustrating when things don’t go according to our timeline!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting Story of my life. I have my repeat HSG on Friday, waiting for a date for my laparoscopy in the next 2-3 months, meeting with urologist for DH in 2 months, and we are on the list for IVF
How are things going?: I’m really sad that we aren’t going to be doing any treatment for a while, but I know that it’s for the best if we can sort out some of our issues first. I was really hopeful that DH’s numbers would be okay and we could try an IUI, but at this point that isn’t an option. I’m also feeling really sensitive lately and it seems like the smallest things trigger me. Also..

@kpearse99 I am crossing EVERYTHING for you, friend! I am so glad that everything went well.
@mvt2003 how is your DH feeling on the clomid? I didn't know until recently that men could take it.
@ellieemc26 fx for you!
@nitnat007 grow, follies, grow!
@inthewoods23 I hope you can get approval from your insurance quickly. Once you pick up the phone and make the call about seeing someone, it's a relief to know help is on the way.
@feather_heather I also have anxiety and depression. It really is a day to day struggle with a beast. Hug and I hope you can get the help you are looking for very soon.
@meri-mac FX for those betas tomorrow!! 🦄🦄🦄
AFM, the RE's office said I can do a medicated cycle with monitoring(letrozole, trigger, progesterone). The insurance probably won't come through with IUI approval in time. I'm relieved that this is a possibility, it will take out a lot of the O-guesswork and I will feel like we're doing as much as we can. Plus with all the craziness at work, getting time off for IUI would be tough. I go in for a baseline tomorrow. Yay!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Clomid 50mg+IUI#2
How are things going?: follicle check on CD10 tomorrow. Hopefully I can see at least 2 leading follicles with Clomid. Also I got a voicemail from the genetic testing company to schedule for a genetic consultation this morning. We will see!
Any questions?: maybe after my follicle check

@meri-mac hopefully you get to enjoy the good news with YH! Fx for you!
@feather_heather sorry that it takes so long to get an psychiatrist. Hope you are able to a therapist soon!
@inthewoods23 sorry you and YH had a fight. I hope the therapist is good & can offer some help at this rough time.
@nitnat007 grow follicles grow!
@ellieemc26 hope the family visit can actually help distract you a bit, so TWW is a little bit easier!
@mvt2003 I know, holiday season sucks... glad that YH is still pumped about taking the medication!
@kpearse99 Yay for great motility! Glad that YH agreed on +1!
@emeraldduchess sorry about the insurance... hope you can do a medicated/monitoring cycle!
@misshelen86 sorry about having to wait for treatment. But it seems like you have got a lot of stuff figured out and planned!

@meri-mac thinking of you today!!
@feather_heather I’m glad to see you back, but I’m so sorry you have been struggling. I’m also very sorry that you have to work so hard in order to talk to someone. Big hugs to you❤️
@inthewoods23 I was going to say something similar to @meri-mac, that it might be nice to talk to someone even if you are mostly working it out on your own. I had a scary medical thing happen with a family member and I thought I should maybe talk to someone just to see if I was handling everything appropriately but I kept pushing it off and then it felt like it was too late. So I guess I’m just trying to say that I see where you are coming from and I hope it helps you.
@nitnat007 I hope you are done with the stims soon and the bloating subsides! I agree with you on not all stuffing being the same. My mom delegated that one year and we were all like...never again.
@ellieemc26 Do you have a way to message your doc? I don’t think 1 day early would make much of a difference but my knowledge is only based on my lurking here. I totally get not wanting to test with your MIL in the house!
@mvt2003 I love that your H is so excited about the clomid. I really hope it helps, for the obvious reasons, but also because I’m sure he will be thrilled to have helped.
@kpearse99 so excited for you this cycle!! I have a great feeling! I hope these next 2 weeks fly by for you.
@emeraldduchess I’m so glad you can do the medicated cycle. I agree, you need to get out of here! We are long overdue for a mass exodus.
Oh @misshelen86 I’m sorry you are feeling down. Big hugs to you. I hope you get good news on Friday, and I also hope by the time your SIL starts trying that TTGP will be a distant memory.
@pom9207 good luck today!!
@pom9207 good luck with your follie check!
@meri-mac FX (and everything else) crosses for you today! ♥️🤞🏼♥️🤞🏼

@feather_heather @inthewoods23 This whole IF thing can totally mess with your head. If you have a past history and then add meds to it, it’s easy to see how it can accelerate the issue. I also need to make an appointment for counseling.
@nitnat007 Sending some mojo to those follicles! Hope retrieval goes well.
@ellieemc26 Hoping good things when you test.
@mvt2003
@kpearse99 Yay! No we maybe you can relax a bit. The craziness of WTO while doing treatment is a lot to handle.
@emeraldduchess I feel you, girl!! I don’t like rollercoasters, especially emotional ones.
@misshelen86 Seriously, announcing you’ll try something in 5 months is unnecessary and dumb. I’m sorry she upset you.
@pom9207 FX!
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, RPL, LPD / low progesterone
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole + IUI + progesterone
How are things going?: Letrozole makes my chest feel heavy, almost like heartburn. My nails are finally growing and not breaking, so I’m hoping that me adding in a ton more vegetables lately is helping. My weight is not staying up though. I can’t wait until IF is a very distant memory.
Any questions?: nope

@NYTino24 I can’t wait until all of this is a distant memory for you too❤️
@NYTino24 I think I will be able to relax this time! You are right - treatment during the WTO adds whole new level of everything to it! I mean, on one hand, it's nice to be monitored and told exactly when to trigger and when you will O but at the same time - I almost forgot to take my letrozole twice!

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), TI, and Progesterone after O.
How are things going?: Doing well! MH is actually super hopeful for this cycle, and he is normally the one that keeps reality in check...so I’m afraid it will be a major letdown for both of us if this is not our cycle! I’m not temping during the TWW, so I’m hoping that’ll make me a little less crazy since my temps with the progesterone last month were very misleading!
Any questions?: None right now.
GTKY: what's your favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? Dressing (that’s what we call it since we don’t stuff it in the turkey)!
@mvt2003 I’m glad YH is still excited about the Clomid, I hope it helps!! Sending positive vibes that the prolactin will be good when it gets re-checked...I like the plan to “surprise” him with it, hopefully it won’t be so stressful on him that way! So glad you were able to share about IVF with your boss and it went well, that has to be a weight lifted!
@NYTino24 sorry about the side effect of letrozole. Hope IF will become a distant memory soon
@bluetickgal glad that YH is feeling hopeful this cycle; hope not temping can help TWW to be less stressful!
AFM, follicle check this morning showed I have one 15mm on my right ovary, and a couple of 11-13mm on both sides. The doctor was a little bit concerned and said we should refrain from intercourse until the next check up shows we have fewer leading follicles.
