Ok had to start this because I have one that is still making me blush! Warning: if you're a proper lady who doesn't discuss/want to read anything about bathroom talk, just move along now.
About an hour ago, I went to the bathroom at work. Peed, wiped, flushed, standard drill. But the water kept rising and rising! Luckily it stopped before overflowing, but I was panicking! There's a plunger in there so I gave it my best attempt, but then I saw the brown ring that was on the floor from where the plunger was and I started gagging thinking about coworkers' poos that had previously clogged the toilet and just couldn't deal. Anyway, I didn't fix the issue and pretty much just ran out of there and told no one. (After I washed my hands. I'm not a monster.)
My cousin sent a group text today announcing her 2nd pregnancy (anyone lurking from TTGP- f*cking called it) and I’ve been too pissed off to respond. She obviously doesn’t know I’m KU so wouldn’t you think she’d have a little more tact announcing to her IF cousin than a f*cking group text with a picture of her US????
So anyway I guess my fffc is that the only thing that makes me happy about this is knowing that everyone in the family will be 596059727x happier for me than they are for her, I think everyone has always been confused why she even decided to be a mom because she’s so self centered and b*tchy. I was always the one playing with all the kids on Christmas while she just wanted to discuss what she had gotten that year 🙄
Laughing @stlbuckeye132! I would have totally done the same!
@b_1029 WOW. I lurked for just a little on TTGP, amd had just started joining in when I joined this bmb, but i do remember something about this- like- they pretty much just had to look at each other and boom- pregnant. I'm sorry your cousin had absolutely no tact with her announcement. I can't wait to hear how your family reacts when you get to announce.
@b_1029 anyone who announces a pregnancy via a group text US photo gets major side-eye from me to begin with, but to add on top of that her insensitivity towards you? Nope. She doesn't sound like a great person. I'm glad your pregnancy will overshadow hers!
@b_1029 what an ass hat. That's so effing rude. I'm annoyed at her with you.
@stlbuckeye132 They don't have a plunger in the women's restroom at my office! There are 8 of us, total. So if you clog the toilet, you have to parade the plunger from one side of the office, by the men's room, clear across to the other side of the building. So, the one time I clogged the toilet, I PANICKED! I went in and out of the restroom like, 3 or 4 times in a short span, trying to get that thing to flush without the use of the plunger. It was so bad. A piece of my soul died from all the stress that day
@b_1029 ugggggggggh. Those types of people are the worst. Enjoy your vindication when you make your own announcement!
@stlbuckeye132 ha! I had bathroom drama today, too! I was in the bathroom and after using the toilet there were two long red hairs on the seat. So they’re totally mine. I got some TP and started trying to pick them off the seat but had one of those static issues where the hair just keeps reattaching and won’t let you let it go. Finally managed to drag them into the toilet to flush but not after letting an F bomb fly because I splashed toilet water on myself. Came out of the restroom to see a colleague waiting and she asked if was okay. 😂 Nothing to see here, lady.
I don't feel the need to add an ETA for typos and spelling errors and don't plan to do it (I don't expect others to either). It's a PITA and totally unnecessary. If you don't trust my edits.... sorry not sorry!

Yes yes yes! Same. I've definitely edited mine w/o an ETA and will continue to do so. Promise if I drastically change context, I'll explain in a ETA. Otherwise, who cares if I add a comma?
@stlbuckeye132 yes! Exactly that! Major changes, sure. Editing b/c typing is hard. No thanks... I don't need to know about anyone else's edits for that stuff either.
@b_1029 OMG, of course she’s KU. Freaking special snowflakes. Also, I want to point out that just BC you are KU now, doesn’t mean you can’t still be annoyed at this kind of crap. I know your announcement will thrill the whole family when it comes.
@stlbuckeye132 uggh, I've always been grossed out by plungers. When we bought our house, DH thought I was weird for throwing away the old plunger that the previous owners left us. I was like, "uh, definitely will never touch that, I'm buying a new one".
@b_1029 yeah, group txt tend to be annoying anyway but that takes the cake, sorry you had to put up with that!
My FFFC is that I ordered a turkey sandwich from the deli today, totally forgetting about the no deli meat rule until I was in line paying. I bought it anyway and ate it. I'm sure it will be fine, it's not vodka or cocaine.
@dancingtreepose I doubt one turkey sandwich would do anything (also doubt one vodka drink would do much of anything ) I've spent my day googling things like "Do pregnant Japanese women eat sushi" (yes) amongst other pregnancy food related searches.
@pocketrose yesssss!!!! I dont plan on skipping sushi this time around as long as I watch the high in mercury stuff.
My bf is completely neuortic and guilt trips me if I even mention forbidden foods. We were out at Panera's last night and he realized I had the green papaya tea and he literally took it away from me and replaced it with something non-caffeinated. It's his first baby, too, so I find it more cute than annoying, but I'll admit that sometimes it's very, very annoying.
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
@kboydbowman force him to read Expecting Better. My DH is pretty nervous about foods and such too but after he read the chapter on caffeine he was happy to fill my morning cup of coffee to the top. And it made him relax about stuff like wine, sushi, etc. I don’t expect to drink often in pregnancy but I fully expect to have a half glass of Cabernet on special occasions. And sushi is such a great way to get omega 3s and excellent protein, I know I’ll want to indulge at my favorite sushi spot a few times (avoiding the high mercury stuff).
On a similar note, my bday party is tonight and I planned it before I was pregnant. We’re supplying all the drinks and accoutrements and each guest is bringing their favorite cheese. Any cheese you buy in a supermarket in the US is going to be made with pasteurized milk so the “no soft cheese” thing really seems silly to me. I’m sure I’ll still stick to mostly hard cheeses (I prefer them anyway) and if a guest brings in anything they bought at a craft fair or that a neighbor made (potential raw milk usage), I’ll avoid. But bring me some Brie for my birthday baguette!
In regards to can/can'ts for pregnancy. I had a glass of wine last night and then I couldn't sleep feeling guilty about it. I made the mistake of googling if it's okay to have the occasional glass and obviously you can find whatever you want to hear on the internet but it didn't make me feel any better.

@laurad75 I think the guilt is there regardless of how careful we are. I forgot to wash my grapes this week and then went down a google spiral of horribleness. 🤷♀️ We do the best we can while still enjoying our lives and doing what we can to ease anxiety (which may be the occasional glass of wine).
@laurad75 I allllmost made my one glass of wine last weekend (and now a half glass this weekend) my FFFC bc I 100% feel comfortable with it in every stage of pregnancy but didn’t want everyone to think I’m a monster. 😂 Thanks for being the first to admit it and, cheers mama. I’ll be having the occasional glass with you.
