  • 1. How many weeks are you? 29w3d

    2. Previous loss(es)? 1/2019

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Physically, since starting the iron supplement, I've been feeling better. Even the aches and pains are more or less GONE. My appetite has almost completely disappeared unless it's cold out, but other than that, I'm alright. Emotionally....eh....It's a battle some days. I feel like I'm on an emotional roller-coaster and normal drama and family obligations aren't helping.

    4. Any appointment updates? Reg OB on 11/19.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? There's always SOME rabbit being pulled from a hat that takes SO away...and then ANOTHER rabbit being pulled from a hat that keeps him from coming back. Sometimes, I get really tired of being understanding. Then, I feel guilty for wanting him with me, and wanting him to say "no". And, I feel silly for this vague sensation of abandonment (which is probably partly an anniversary reaction thing). Today, I'm one "my mom/sister needs..." away from having an epic meltdown and disappearing into a box of Godiva and cheesy Christmas RomComs. Can I just plead hormones and be selfish? Just once? *wallows in playful self-pity*

    6. Any milestones coming up? 32w...Then, I'll relax.

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite tradition for the holidays? Christmas Eve is by far my favorite "Holiday", and it's because of the traditions we have. IDK if my parents started it before I was born, or after, but for as long as I can remember, Christmas Eve is special. The local radio station kicks off 36 hours of commercial free Christmas music at 12, and it goes on. We don't have dinner. We have a spread of snacks: cheese plate, meat tray, relish tray, crackers, lil-smokies, tamales (This is a local thing), etc. We all have wine or Kids' Wine (Sparkling Grape Juice) and sit in front of the fire (weather permitting).  With the music playing in the background, we each open a single present....it's always the same thing. Everyone gets PJs and a book. Then, we all change into our PJs for the rest of the evening, even my sister's brood, that has to drive 20 miles home. Once the kids are in bed, and asleep, the adults put out the presents, and we'll sit out with another glass of wine, in front of the fire, and listen to the music in companionable silence (I'm usually reading my guilty pleasure of a Regency Holiday Anthology), with all the presents under the tree and it lit up. Perfectly peaceful and pretty. That's the entire evening. We're just together, enjoying family time. There have been changes. We used to watch the Alistair Sims version of A Christmas Carol. Sometimes, the kids watch Polar Express, and everyone 16+ plays Cards Against Humanity. But, in the end, most of it stays exactly the same, for at least the last 42 years. PS...this is why I love Christmas so much.

  • @FyreFlyeRush - I will wallow with you.   H has to be gone for work, and he is packing trips in much more tightly than normal to try and be home more when baby comes.  I try and be understanding, as work pays our bills, and I know he wants to get a new job, but I am cold and tired and lonely and hormonal.  And I have to take all 3 kids for a flu shot this afternoon.  Wallow, wallow, wallow.

    1. How many weeks are you? 29w 6d

    2. Previous loss(es)? 6/2013

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?  Just so tired.  It's getting harder to wear my almost 3 year old on my back for our walks to and from school for drop offs and pick ups.  But last night the little guy was going nuts in my belly, and I loved watching it move all around!

    4. Any appointment updates? Tomorrow I have an ultrasound and an appt at 9&9:30.  But then I finally got into an OT for my 5 year old, after over a year wait, and the appt is at 10:15.  So I hope they don't mind my moving fast at my appts! I couldn't say no.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions?  We leave for San Diego in one week! Yay! Warmth and sun!  We lived there for 10 years before moving here to Maine, and have lots of family and friends.  We are all so excited.

    6. Any milestones coming up?  30 weeks tomorrow, which feels big!  Then I will count down to hitting January, and being in the birth month(and past the holidays).

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite tradition for the holidays?  My mom didn't like having tiny things in the stocking on Xmas morning, because she thought it got overlooked.  So all December the elves would come at random times and leave each of us something small in there.   My mom would say, "Did you hear something?", or we would just check and something would be in there.  We do it with my kids and I love it  😊

  • @mollysm, Pregnancy has made me needy and clingy and I detest it! I like the part where I'm super lovey dovey, but I hate being needy. Also, I love that tradition!
  • @FyreFlyeRush - I totally agree.  Feeling more lovey is awesome, as I am not a particularly emotional woman, but the needy part sucks.  As does the crying.  I cry so often!!

@MollySm, Same on the crying! Any little perceived insult or slight or snub or phub (my pet peeve, ANYWAY) and I'm tearing up over something I would have rolled my eyes at 6 months ago. Then, it doesn't take much to go from sniffle sniffle to SOB SOB. No other pregnancy has made me like this.

    EDIT - More words.
  • I think I'm going to get this as Wyatt's coming home outfit:

I'm probably going to tie the bow to the carrier, but he can wear the hat.
    Coming Home Outfit.
  • @FyreFlyeRush I love that so very much!!!!!
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 29 + 3

    2. Previous loss(es)? 12/18 and 4/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Physically in pain and uncomfortable but it's better than it has been so that's a plus! Emotionally actually okay just tired. Tired of working hard and not having things work for my students. I think the exhaustion of pregnancy has made it hard to invest the precious energy I have and be disappointed with the results. Oh well! I know it's not as bad as I feel like it is but it feels sad to not be at my best all the time.

    4. Any appointment updates? Next Monday for reg OB appointment. Starting rotations with all the docs in the practice so they all know me for when I deliver.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My friend who is in her TWW (on her second Clomid cycle) got a negative today but it's still early. I just remember that time in the wait and feeling out of control. I feel bad about being pregnant but know that she tells me things because she knows I've been there but I'm just hoping it works soon because I think she is getting frustrated.

    6. Any milestones coming up? Would love 32 weeks!

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite tradition for the holidays? I just love sitting at home with family. Maybe with a fire or playing a card game and just relaxing and chatting together!
  • @FyreFlyeRush love the outfit! I’ve been looking for something similar.

@mollysm good luck with your ultrasound and appt tomorrow! Glad you finally got in with the ot for your 5 year old. it’s crazy how long the wait was!
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 30 weeks

    2. Previous loss(es)? 6 losses

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally ok. My anxiety is starting to ramp up as we get closer to delivery day. The failed nst’s and my ov blowing them out of proportion has set me on edge.

    4. Any appointment updates? Back to our regularly scheduled programming. Ob appt friday, growth scan Monday.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m trying my best to put on the infant car seat adapters for our stroller and I’m reminded why I just let Dh do stuff like this.   Also, it’s 32 degrees today and I couldn’t put my boots on to save my life, my feet are so swollen. I’ve resorted to my bear paw slippers with socks to keep my feet warm. I’m so classy at school pickup 😆.

    6. Any milestones coming up? 32 weeks!

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite tradition for the holidays? Playing scrabble with all my siblings. We play every holiday but haven’t all been together in a few years and I miss it. Dh and I still play but it’s not the same.
  • @biolprof oh I hope your friend is successful. That tww is killer. It’s so easy to get in your head during that time.
  • @biolprof, crossing my fingers for your friend. I swear it's one of the hardest waits a woman can go through...regardless of which side of the TWW you're on.
  • When I have time I'll write a full check in, but for now I am just crying (at work- supposed to be writing lessons) thinking how beautiful it is that our little babies are going to be here.
@FyreFlyeRush That onesie really sent me down a rabbit hole, but in a good way.
     Thinking of all you ladies!
  • @FyreFlyeRush All your Christmas Eve traditions sound amazing. Just reading that put me in the holiday spirit.
@MollySm San Diego sounds fabulous. Hope you have a wonderful time!
@biolprof TWW is so nerve-wracking. I hope your friend has success—if not this cycle then soon.
@kbrown2385 Wear those bear claw slippers with pride! I used to have a pair as a kid....now I want a new pair!

    1. How many weeks are you? 31+5

    2. Previous loss(es)? DD’s twin 2/17

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally the hormones having me finding something to cry about pretty much every day again. Physically I get sore after short walks—and even getting up too fast—at this point but I’m still trying to stay as active as my schedule and symptoms allow.

    4. Any appointment updates? OB 11/20

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? DD has been having epic meltdowns lately. She suddenly isn’t doing so hot with potty training and I think it is stressing her out, so I am going to tell daycare not to force it.

    6. Any milestones coming up? 32 weeks on Wednesday!

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite tradition for the holidays? Baking and decorating cookies with my mom and sister has always been one of my favorite ways to get ready for Christmas, and we’ve included our respective kiddos as we’ve had them. With my sister’s family living abroad this year, I’m already getting sad knowing my mom, DD, and I won’t have her and her kiddos around to take part.
