Re: Group 2 (May 9-16) Week of 11/18

  • EDD/weeks+days: 14+4

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Lavender

Baby is the size of a(n): Peaches.

Upcoming appointments: Nothing for another four weeks.

How are you feeling? Ugh, I am sick again! My immune system is nonexistent because if this pregnancy. This is the 4th time ove been sick in 14 weeks. I feel like crap and I'm so over it.

Raves/Rants: I'm excited to travel to see my dad, brother, and extended family this weekend! They don't know we're having twins yet, so announcing that will be fun. But my dad's guest bed is so uncomfortable, so dreading that.

Questions: are the STM's doing registries? I started on and set it to private, just to have a list of what we still needed. But it feels kind of weird to me.

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? I've always wanted two kids. Until I had my second, then I wanted one more. Now we're about to have four. 😬

  • @ruby696 I also have a registry set for private just for me, but if anyone asks for an idea if they want to buy something, I can just send it to them.

    EDD/weeks+days: May 9th/15+2

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): naval orange

    Upcoming appointments: next week

How are you feeling? I am feeling really "stuffed." Like there isn't any more room in my stomach area. It is worse after I eat and I feel really uncomfortable. I remember feeling like this in my first pregnancy and once my bump started to get bigger, the feeling went away.

Raves/Rants: I am also getting over from being sick and ugh- not fun.

    Questions: None

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? I always wanted 3. Then we had 2 and we decided that was all we could handle. Then my youngest grew out of the super hard toddler stage and we changed our mind and now are on #3! Definitely no more after this one, though.

  • EDD/weeks+days: May 11, 2020 / 15 weeks today

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out this Wednesday!

Baby is the size of a(n): Naval Orange

Upcoming appointments: 11/20 for elective gender ultrasound

How are you feeling? Still feeling tired all the time but the nausea has subsided, so that’s a plus.

Raves/Rants: This being overly emotional and quick temper nonsense is annoying lol

    Questions: None at this moment.

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? Two or three. We are debating on this being our last. This will be number 2 biologically for me and number 5 for DH. All of the kiddos live with us so we will have 7 running around.
  • @ruby696 I have done one every pregnancy. This one and the second we’re just for me really, like a check list and a good way to keep up with ideas/get a discount. If anyone asks about a gift I just refer them to it tho.

    EDD/weeks+days: May 11/ 15weeks today.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team pink

Baby is the size of a(n): Naval orange or a Hass Avocado

    Upcoming appointments: Nov 27th

How are you feeling? Pretty good. I still feel nauseous here and there but mostly back to normal and more energy.

Raves/Rants: still waiting for the seller to turn on utilities so we can do an inspection on the house we want. We’ve already had to extend the inspection period again.

    Questions: nope.

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? I’ve always thought it would be awesome to have a big family. This is #3 and there’s a good chance there will be #4. After that we will have to see how we feel.

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: should find out this week

Baby is the size of a(n): naval orange right?

Upcoming appointments: day after thanksgiving for glucose tolerance and to meet OB

How are you feeling? Better but still exhausted.

Raves/Rants: rant - no one knows yet and I’m ready to tell and starting to show. Rave - we found a house we might like that’s bigger than ours and has so much storage....... but it’s on the very tippy top of our budget

    Questions: none

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? Wanted 3-4. This is #2 bio for me plus SS and there will be no more.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 14+4, May 14

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out December 19th!!

Baby is the size of a(n): Peach

Upcoming appointments: November 25, next week! We haven't picked up the HB on the doppler yet so I am hopeful we can get it at this appointment.

How are you feeling?  Great overall actually! I noticed my gag reflex is worse while pregnant. I've been having to cough up mucus in the morning from post nasal drip and as soon as I start the gagging just continues.

Raves/Rants: DD woke up at 5:30 today (2 hours early), ugh I am so tired.

    Questions: Nope.

GTKY: How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? For a while I wanted none, mainly because I was scared of child birth. Other than that there is no amount that really sticks out, maybe 2. Now we are stopping at 2. I would entertain a third, but DH has said it is a hard no.

  • @ruby696 I hope you kick the cold quickly. I hope you have fun this weekend! I have private registries through Amazon and Target to keep a list of things. I've already bought a few things off of Amazon and got my welcome box. Don't feel weird about it, it is a great way to keep things organized and get coupons.

@rachelg777 I always enjoy hanging out with friends in the moment but then regret it later when I am exhausted!

@peachnectarine I hope the cold goes away soon!

@c0leann Wow that is a lot of kiddos! I'm sure it is so much fun. My mom came from a large family (13) and I love getting together with everyone for our family gatherings.

@Austenista   That is frustrating about having to move the inspection.

@JStill0603 That is exciting about the house. Hopefully you can figure out a way to make it work!

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): baby chick

    Upcoming appointments: Dec 10th

How are you feeling? just ok today. I woke up about 3am Sunday morning with an intense pulling sensation in my lower abs and felt achy all day yesterday. Still feeling achy today. Assuming it's just round ligament pain but sent a message in to to my OB just in case, since it was painful enough I couldn't really fall back asleep

Raves/Rants: the weather is so dreary and now it looks like rain in CA next week when we go down for Thanksgiving too :'( I was so looking forward to some sunshine!

Questions: Is the achiness pretty normal? When did it kick in for you?

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? I wanted 3-4. MH wanted 0 or 1, so we comprised on 2. I'm from a big family and am very close with my siblings, but MH only has one brother he doesn't have a good relationship with, so that's why he thought just 1 but he knew when we started dating that would be a hard sell for me  :D so one more to go after this!

  • @ruby696 so exciting you get to tell family this weekend! I'm really looking forward to doing that next week too.

@rachelg777 entertaining is so exhausting right now. MH tried to get me to go out last week and I told him no way I could make it past 9pm.

@peachnectarine hope you are starting to feel better!

@c0leann I am also tired of being overly emotional. Did not expect to cry this much this early in pregnancy.

@Austenista fingers crossed for a fast and successful inspection!!

@JStill0603 hopefully you get a chance to start telling people soon if you are ready to share!

@m6agua +1 for the sensitive gag reflex. I keep gagging in the middle of brushing my teeth, it's awful.

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: We will find out, but my whole family (DH, parents, brothers) all think girl.

Baby is the size of a(n): Orange

Upcoming appointments: Nov.28 just for check up and NT results. The ultrasound tech told us everything looked good, but we haven’t heard anything about the bloodwork. So I’m assuming that means everything is ok....😕

How are you feeling? Meh. Tired. I’m so congested, and I wake up at 3am every day. Nausea is a lot less, but been getting indigestion, and I’ve had a couple headaches. Like the worst headache I’ve ever had my life.

Raves/Rants: This is our first, and I’m scared we are going to run out of time to get everything organized and ready. I am a planner, my hubby is a go with flow type. We’ve been given some free things from friends, but haven’t talked much about setting up a registry, or doing birth classes/breastfeeding classes etc.

    Questions: None

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now?
Much younger I wanted a few. Into my mid twenties we hit or miss. We thought we weren’t going to have any. Went off BC a few years ago and said if it happens ok, but we weren’t planning. I’m fairly confident we will be one and done.
  • EDD/weeks+days: May 13th 15+0

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink!

Baby is the size of a(n): cinnamon roll

    Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan 12/16

How are you feeling? huge and also lovely DD gave me a cold with a nasty cough and sore throat so that stinks

Raves/Rants: I'm over being sick and especially not loving the round ligament pain from all the coughing

    Questions: nah

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? I think I always wanted 2-3 though ideally I always said I would have 2 boys and 2 girls so everyone could have a brother and a sister lol.  In the beginning DH was also 2-3 but after DD1 he was actually feeling pretty one and done.  I knew I would never be happy without at least trying for a second so finally I convinced him, but he says definitely no more after this one.
  • EDD/weeks+days: May 13... I got moved back up by a few days, so I am back here! 15 weeks today

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out, hopefully right before Christmas

Baby is the size of a(n): navel orange

Upcoming appointments: next OB appointment on December 2

How are you feeling? Much better the last few days. Today was the first day I didn’t almost puke while brushing my teeth or on the drive in to work.

Raves/Rants: The impeachment hearings are so spicy and I love it.

    Questions: none

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? I’ve always wanted 2-3. We’ll see how this one goes before we decide about a third. My guess is we will stick with 2, mostly due to money.
  • @jess09lynn congrats on the promotion!! How great that they wanted to help you out like that!!

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): house mouse

Upcoming appointments: Nov 27 midwife appt and first progesterone shot to avoid another pre-term birth.

How are you feeling? My nausea has returned this week, not as bad, but still annoying. Also increased discomfort/round ligament pain in my belly the past few days. Sound like you and I are going through the same thing, @heyybritt - what did your dr say?

Raves/Rants: I bought a snow bib off a gal on fb marketplace and specifically asked if it was smoke free. She said it was and we did the exchange in a parking lot. When I got it back to my car, it became immediately apparent that it reeks of cigarettes. It was too late to get my money back so I took it straight home and into the washer. I haven’t checked it yet, but don’t have high hopes. It was only $5 wasted, but I just don’t understand how she can think it’s okay to flat out lie to me!

Questions: Does anyone else have experience with the progesterone shots? I’m willing to do whatever it takes to give this baby the best start in the world, but not looking forward to a sore a$$ every week.

GTKY (stolen from Group 1/3): How many kids did you want when you were younger? What are your plans now? I used to want three, then wasn’t sure I wanted any, and now we’re on #2 after which H will be snipped.
  • @heyybritt Thanks! I'm pretty lucky to work for the company I do.
  • @lajoliedreamer They said unless it's accompanied by spotting/bleeding, fever or chills, or I have burning during urination (as UTI symptoms I guess show up differently during pregnancy 🤷🏽‍♀️) there wasn't reason to be concerned. She did say if it continued or got worse to call back and I could come in but the worst of it seemed to taper off for me Monday evening. I didn't know the ache could last for such a long time but she said it really just depends on the pregnancy.

  • That makes sense. It started a lot earlier with me this pregnancy (week 6), but this week was the longest the aches/twinges have lasted.
  • @lajoliedreamer yeah I was concerned because everything I had read said it shouldn't last too long but she said it really varies, so that made me feel better.

  • @jess09lynn congrats on the promotion! As far as your question about people staying with me after baby was born I'm sure there are a lot of factors to consider, but for me with DD1 I wanted my mom there as much as possible but didn't really have a lot of interest in anyone else being around at least for long periods of time.  I had pretty bad baby blues for a few weeks and felt so lost as a FTM not knowing if I was doing anything right and also really struggling with BF (ending up exclusively pumping due to transfer issues) so having my mom there was reassuring that she would make sure I didn't screw anything up too badly.  She could also help take DD when she was too fussy during the night and DH and I just really need a few hours of sleep.  And of course she fed me and took care of me too  When other people were there I tended to checkout and not want to interact with them.  Sometimes it was a nice break for them to hold DD for a bit, but if she got fussy at all I always took her back instantly because it was too stressful to hear her cry.  And other times I missed her a lot and would take her and go hide in the bedroom to feed her for awhile (especially while MIL was there for long periods of time).
