Re: TTTC Check-in 11/11/19

  • @2dogsmom I did have the ER and transfer was today. I was so sick after the ER. They had to give me more pain meds part way through the procedure so I imagine my system couldn't handle the overload. Luckily, I hadn't eaten since midnight so it was relatively okay. I slept for the rest of the day afterwards. The transfer was much less unpleasant. They were very happy with the quality of our embryos and my uterus  Betas are on November 26th. Now...we wait.

What has been going on with you?

  • @meri-mac sorry to hear you were feeling so I’ll for the ER but glad the transfer went well!! How many embryos did you end up with? How many did you transfer? Will the rest be frozen for a possible FET later? FX that it works for you!!

AFM: survived 3 pregnancy announcements the past few days without a total breakdown. Otherwise just waiting until they can schedule me for a HSG/further testing. Timing doesn’t work for IUI this month so trying to enjoy a break (it’s kinda hard though, because I feel like it’s just wasted time).
  • @meri-mac: Hope you feel better after resting. FX for you. Hope it works.

@2dogsmom: I know what you mean by waste of time. I feel the same way with every passing month. But we deserve a break, mentally, physically and emotionally.

AFM: AF on Sunday. I kind of expected it after the progesterone test. Saturday was rough, lots of mood swings. The RE has told me to take 100mg of clomid this time with a HCG shot. I have to go meet RE on Thursday to see what it all means. Do any of you here have experience with HCG shot? What can I expect? With the pain from the clomid and the severe mood swings, I am already nervous about this.
  • @2dogsmom We ended up with 7 embryos in the blastocyst stage and they transferred one embryo. They are giving us a call today with the number they will freeze. Fingers crossed. It all feels a bit surreal to be honest. I don't feel any different a part from the tiredness from progesterone and Estradiol.

@amgpg25 Thanks! I'm sorry that AF showed. I had the HCG shot. It was no different than my other IVF injections except my RE gave me a specific time to take it. I didn't have any discomfort with it.
  • Morning ladies 🙂

My calendar finally came in the mail. I'm back to having a mini pharmacy in the house. I'm on PNV, 6000IU vitamin D, 600mg vitamin E, birth control (for 30 days), a probiotic, and 2000IU L-Arginine 3x a day.

Once and antibiotic gets thrown in, that's when timing things gets tricky as you don't want to take that with vitamins and the L-Arginine needs to be taken on an empty stomach. It gets a little crazy!

12/4 I start lupron and 6 days later is the last BCP. Baseline appointment sometime in the week of 12/16 with my first follow up on Christmas Eve. Good thing I won't be too far from home!

@meri-mac so sorry to hear you were so sick! That really sucks. FX for the 26th!

@2dogsmom there's always too much downtime with IF *sigh*

@amgpg25 it's just 1 shot that helps the eggs mature and release. I know some versions are subcutaneous (in the stomach) but my triggers have always been intramuscular and injected above the butt area. The needle is quite thin should feel similar to getting the flu shot.

  • @inthewoods23 Oh my goodness! That is a significant mini pharmacy. I am full of admiration that you can keep track of it all. Fx!
  • @meri-mac you should have seen me when I first started taking it all for my first FET. I was getting sick taking some of the stuff on an empty stomach! Then also trying to take the antibiotic with some food to ease my stomach, but needing to make sure it's not dairy and such that would make absorbion less effective. I was a little bit of a hot mess at first, but I got it down name.

That was also me figuring out the IVF injections. Gonal-F, Menopur, and lupron all had different steps prior to injection 😵 I think I finally had that down by day 3 or 4 lol.

  • @amgpg25 I’ve done that one Sub-q, it wasn’t too bad & I didn’t have a ton of extra symptoms from it. It did burn a little going in, but it’s pretty doable. The hardest part is getting the timing exactly right, but your Dr should tell you exactly when to give it.

@meri-mac that sounds like good numbers!! FX!

@inthewoods23 yikes that’s a lot, but you’re getting to be a pro at it! Talk about some interesting plans for Christmas! Good luck as you start all that again!
  • Just realized I did not answer the QOTW:

If you became a talk show host, who would your first guest be? Why? I would love to speak with Barrack Obama. I am in so in awe of his life, work and passion for his various causes. Whether or not people agree with his politics, he is just a fascinating individual.
  • I enjoy how calm this board is, but it needs a bit more love.
