I don't want to call oncall dr...does reducing Reflux meds=more spit up?

We have been reducing per the doc's suggestion. We have noticed a bit more spit up. Correlation?

  • What med is your DD on? We noticed a lot of spit up with the Zantac - I don't think it was working. We are on day 2 of Prevacid and there was a minimal amount of spitup. Is there supposed to be a correlation? No I don't believe so, but now I'm thinking there may be.

  • As far as I know, reflux meds only help with the pain/acid but does not effect how much a baby spits up.

  • Axid. I know, I thought there was no correlation, but now I am thinking there is.

I might just have to call on call cause I gotta know for sure.

  • For us there was a direct connection between meds and spitting up.

  • my DS spit up a bit more as I weaned him off the reflux meds (Zantac).
