Maternity jean question

This might be a silly question, but how should the side stretch panel jeans fit? I bought shorts on clearance for next summer, but am questioning the fit. Should they be this loose? Will I grow into them? I’ve only ever had the full belly ones. Obviously my bump will get much bigger, but I thought these should fit closer to the hips. I went with my normal size. Thanks!

We usually like to keep conversations organized, rather than everyone making a post with their question/comment we tend towards making threads for various topics such as "Ultrasounds," "Appointments," "Symptoms," "Randoms," etc. This question would probably fit great in the randoms thread!

All that being said though, I would seriously not post photos online of myself or anyone else that are looking directly down your open pants. So there's that. Highly recommend taking that bottom photo down.

In regards to your question, those look too big. I've found that frequently Gap runs large, if these are Gap. I need to buy usually 1-2 sizes down from my norm to wear Gap. But, side panel jeans I have to buy one size up in any brand. So maybe just 1 size down from normal in Gap. Or I buy two sizes down but then they only fit me through second trimester. I carry high and low and out in front, all at once, as I grow decent size babies and have a super tiny short torso.

But seriously, take that picture down.
