Baby is the size of a(n): Coconut, American Guinea Pig, heavy as a football
Cravings/Aversions: No. I've been eating very normally for me. I definitely get full faster, but everything sounds pretty good (unless it never does).
Upcoming appts: 11/20 for follow-up A/S and regular check-in.
Rants/Raves: We're having the most beautiful weather! Sunshine, clear skies, and crisp temps. But I hate DLS, because then it's dark at 4:30 PM and my pup is up before 5 AM.
Questions: When are y'all pulling the trigger on buying the stuff that might not come from shower? Like, breast pump, rug, maybe glider. I know some things take awhile to ship, but I'm a major minimalist, so forcing myself to actually buy the damn thing and then clutter/storing too long drives me insane.
GTKY: Do you vote? Every year? In primaries too? Always! Oregon mails ballots, so it's extra easy.
Cravings/Aversions: gimme all the food 😋, especially pastries
Upcoming appts: 11/17, 2nd anatomy scan to check cord insertion they couldn’t see on 1st
Rants/Raves: working while pregnant sucks, I work a physical job on my feet, lifting, running, pushing, wee hours of the AM on call and I’m damn tired ( third baby so yes I’ve worked pregnant before but damn it still sucks third time around!)
Questions: @pdx2020 , your insurance will cover your breast pump! Check out AeroflowBreastpumps.com to easily order through insurance.
Anyone else considering a referral from their OB for pelvic floor therapy post partum?
GTKY: Do you vote? Every year? In primaries too? Yes! Every year and in primaries !
@pdx2020 we are buying all furniture probably next month, we need to paint the room first. Breast pump I’m waiting til the last minute. Everything else I’m waiting and hoping everyone else will buy it for me 😬
EDD/W+D: March 3, 22+6
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Pink 💗
Baby is the size of a(n): coconut
Cravings/Aversions: eating normally and can finally eat chicken again! Still prefer my sweets though.
Upcoming appts: Wednesday for second round AS, hopefully we won’t need a third!
Rants/Raves: Rave- I’m excited to see baby girl on Wednesday! Rant- although I love seeing her I’m really looking forward to no more scans and finally getting the all clear. I’ve had some terrible ultrasound experiences and it’s emotionally exhausting waiting for results.
Questions: none that I can think of right now
GTKY: Do you vote? Every year? In primaries too? Yes but not in every election... I know, I’m bad 😞
Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit/weighs as much as a can of soup.
Cravings/Aversions: my only aversion is ramen. No cravings so far, surprisingly!
Upcoming appts: 11/13, regular check in.
Rants/Raves: Rant AND rave! My school district is preparing for our annual turkey feast on Thursday. Every year we serve a full Thanksgiving meal to the students (all 37,000 in our district that buy lunch!). I get to make the pumpkin pies at 4 of my schools. Today I made 37 whole pies from scratch; over the next 2 days I'll make about 150 more. While I love the kiddos, I'm really getting tired of the smell of pie!
Questions: none right now.
GTKY: Do you vote? Every year? In primaries too? Up until recently, I want a citizen so I couldn't vote even if I wanted to! Now that I can, I'm not sure if I will 😂
Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a box of Kraft mac & cheese
Cravings/Aversions: none! I've finally been eating normally
Upcoming appts: 11/8 for a regular checkup
Rants/Raves: Rave: my in-laws bought our crib and dresser which came in this past weekend. I guess I should move all of my other clothes out of the baby's room... On another note, I've been feeling great. I've been able to exercise a lot lately and it makes me feel like my normal self!
Questions: none right now.
GTKY: Do you vote? Every year? In primaries too? Yes I vote, but not in primaries.
@pdx2020 hubby and I decided to just start buying stuff slowly. We are having 1 shower over Christmas break when we are home (we're military so we are far away from everyone), and it just makes me feel better to go ahead and start buying things. I don't want to count on people for stuff we need and then not get it!
Baby is the size of a(n): As big as a package of astronaut ice cream
Cravings/Aversions: Give me all the sour candy! Also, frosted brown sugar cinnamon Pop Tarts (toasted!). Aversions to mostly everything else
Upcoming appts: Nov 20th for checkup and glucose screen
Rants/Raves: Rave- feeling really good! Want to make more time for prenatal yoga in my routine. Did a YouTube video this weekend and it really helped my back! Also, feeling baby girl move all the time now!! Rant- I can't find food that I'm really loving that's filling besides candy and Pop Tarts nothing sounds good, and then when something does sound good, I usually take a bite and then it grosses me out!
Questions: Any fun babymoons planned? DH and I are thinking of doing a staycation in Chicago over winter break. I also have MLKJ day off in January, but think I might be physically more comfortable in December than January.
GTKY: Do you vote? Every year? In primaries too? I'm also a by-mail voter @pdx2020! Love voting!
@pdx2020 we're not having a shower (religious superstition), but built a registry so if people wanted to buy us things we had a place for them to look, so we could keep a record of everything we want, and for our family members who will likely purchase items for us. The biggest items (furniture/glider, stroller) will be gifted to us from family members. I'm thinking we'll for sure end up buying the carseat and extra base ourselves. I'm hoping we have some nice family members purchase our most needed items, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles with not having a shower, I suppose. My insurance doesn't cover breast pumps for what it's worth, but I'm taking a friends and just getting new parts.
@lemonlove86 Huge industrial ovens really come in handy in elementary school kitchens! I can bake 30 pies at a time, so it goes fairly quickly.
We end up serving turkey and gravy, cornbread dressing (from scratch), mashed potatoes, green beans, peaches, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie (from scratch). The kitchens smell so good!
It's a huge project, with 7 days of prep beforehand to get everything ready, but the kids love it, and we get a lot of families coming to eat with their kids. For some of them, it's the only Thanksgiving meal they get, so it's really rewarding for us.

@slimjoco good luck with your scan!!
@heyahelmett where did you make all these pies?! That sounds like so much work but such a great thing that your district does.
