I just went to see my obgyn they took a urine test and I was negative for all drugs .What will happen if I continue to test negative for all urine test results I'm due in Feb 19,2020
Were you using drugs before your pregnancy? If not, it's weird they would do a drug test at each appointment.
If you were using drugs before you became pregnant and the tests are negative, congratulations on staying sober!
TTC#1 10/2018: MFI (2 SA under 9 million/ml) 11/2018: HSG shows right Fallopian tube slightly damaged 1/2019: Husband diagnosed with grade 3 varicocele 4/05/2019: varicocele repair surgery 6/13/2019: BFP!!! Context. It's important.
Also, isn't the bigger question "what will happen if they continue to test your urine and you AREN'T clean"?
@dontoya i think everyone was just concerned with how your worded your first post. It almost sounded like you were worried to have the drug test show negative (even though that is a good thing!)
It makes sense they would test at every appointment. We were just confused with the question. I know that where I live, they test every newborn for opioids in their system.

@dontoya ok, well having that explanation helps. Although, I'm still confused as to why you're confused about what happens if you consistently test clean? That's like asking "what happens if I never get cancer?"
Lurking from March and @dontoya I live in Ohio and have not been drug tested once during routine visits this pregnancy, my last pregnancy, or the two before it... Just sharing. Either way, yay for negative (obviously, right?).
I live in MI and they drug tested me at my first OB appt. Didnt tell me they were doing it and never discussed the results with me (prob bc it was neg), but I saw the results on MyQuest (my lab site) and the EOB which let me know they did it. I suspect maybe some of you have been tested and just didnt realize?
I was drug tested during at least some (more than one) of my urine tests. I had an OOH birth, which is only allowed for low-risk pregnancies. Taking drugs during pregnancy would automatically risk you out of your OOH birth practice, by state law. They informed me up front that they drug tested.
