How are you feeling?: had some off days this last week but good overall!
Cravings/Aversions: still craving pimento stuffed green olives and now Milky Way bars 😂 I bought Halloween candy and got two extra bags of the fun size milky ways just to have 🤷🏼♀️
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rave to my pregnancy pillow, I have raved it before but omg I don’t know how I would be sleeping without it.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: I pulled off a really great Sally (Nightmare Before Christmas) a few years back. It was fun to do the makeup and I won a costume contest in it!
Upcoming appts: Anatomy scan on Friday and regular checkup on Nov. 5th.
How are you feeling?: I haven't been able to sleep much the past few days. Last night I was up at 3am watching the food network. I am usually a good sleeper so I think it could be my anxiety about my Anatomy scan but who knows. Aside from that no other issues.
Cravings/Aversions: No cravings/aversions thankfully.
Rants/Raves/Questions: None that I can think of right now.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: As an adult I haven't really gone all out with the costumes. I love Halloween though and really admire people's creativity when it comes to costumes and makeup.
@emilyace I am so happy that I got a pregnancy pillow. I don't know how I ever slept without one lol I have avoided purchasing Halloween candy because I know I would have probably ate all the chocolate by now. Have to get some after work.
Upcoming appts: just had our 20w appt on Monday! Next one isn't until the week of Thanksgiving
How are you feeling?: I have been sick as a dog since last thursday. Mostly sinuses but i haven't been able to kick it. DH is gone this week so I've taken advantage of having the bed/house to myself but I havent slept much and I'm really feeling it.
Cravings/Aversions: none!
Rants/Raves/Questions: does anyone else have experience with a low lying placenta? Everything at the anatomy appt checked out for little bug but I have to go back at 28 weeks to see if the placenta has moved at all. I was told it usually does so I'm not sweating it yet.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: Two years ago DH and I dressed up as our Silver Lab and our cat and it was awesome!
@emilyace I have had a lot of hatred towards my pregnancy pillow this last week but I know it's because I'm sick and absolutely nothing feels comfortable right now.
@stacey6689 I feel you on the lack of sleep! I normally have no problem sleeping and this last week it's been a major struggle. Cant wait for it to pass.
Upcoming appts: Regular check-up Nov 4th, another anatomy scan TBD
How are you feeling?: Lately - exhausted. I'm thinking it's due to a cold I'm starting to catch from DS. I could sleep for days at this point and be happy, so taking the kids out trick or treating on Halloween should be interesting - I'm not up for a whole lot of walking at this point.
Cravings/Aversions: Craving all things sweet, and have a dislike of chicken.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rant/Rave, my sick DS can be quite the handful, but he is also adorable at times. He woke up in the middle of the night last night saying 'mom, I have the beaver." (he meant 'fever', but it cracked me up, even though I was a little cranky from being woken in the middle of the night.) then he cuddled with me the rest of the night and it made me grateful for how small he still is ... I remember when DD was that small. It goes fast for sure.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: I love Halloween, but I haven't really dressed up much as an adult. I was a witch back in college (with the long black gown and hat) while everyone else was dressed slutty... lol. When I was pregnant with DS, I drew a picture of a pumpkin on an orange shirt and wore that (still have it, will probably wear it again this year.. yeah I'm too cheap to buy the screen-printed version.) So my adult costumes have been pretty lack-luster, but I really enjoy seeing other people's elaborate costumes.
@emilyace, candy bars of all kinds are super appealing to me these days!
Baby is the size of a(n): Tomato? I’ve heard so many things.
Upcoming appts: I go on November 7th for nothing
exciting.
How are you feeling?: Excellent! Even with the broken toe, I can’t
complain that much. I honestly barely feel pregnant, which is strange.
Cravings/Aversions: I just want food… more savory than sweet still.
Nothing specific. Aversions are mostly to sweets but not as bad as it was in
the beginning (and this definitely makes me think boy haha)
Rants/Raves/Questions: I hope Halloween weather isn’t too awful for us
tomorrow. Right now they are saying rain all day but that it’ll stop before trick
or treating… but then be very cold… oh and RAVE I am taking tomorrow off. When
possible, I try to take off all the “fun” holidays, so I can be with my kids
and volunteer at DD’s preschool. On a Rant side, I already feel under prepared for the holidays. As soon as Halloween ends, I feel like the rest is upon us.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have
ever dressed in for Halloween?: My.
Mom made me this amazing Pig costume out of a tan bean bag chair. In my 20s, I
was Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen with my best friend… both are good memories!
@emilyace I think I might need to get a pregnancy pillow this go around!
@babyfox320
I am so sorry you have been sick. I found it super hard to kick sinus issues
when pregnant as well. I hope it gets better! Also no direct experience with a
low lying placenta but I too have heard in 90% of the cases it moves up. FX it
does!
@treetop19
Aww that is so sweet about your DS. I try very hard to savor all of those
moments with mine, because everyone says how quickly it goes.
Upcoming appts: midwife appt this morning- all looks good, next one in three weeks
How are you feeling?: good but exhausted in the evenings.
Cravings/Aversions: craving all the sweet things, aversions to meat
Rants/Raves/Questions: rant- DH is out of town all week. I’m so tired putting the girls to bed. Rave- DH got a raise this month so finances are less tight.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: About 10 years ago, some of my girlfriends and I went as Peter Pan and the lost boys (I was Peter Pan). Last year, DH and I went as Claire and Owen from Jurassic world and DD1 was a dinosaur. This year I am wearing a giraffe onesie because it the only thing that fits.
Baby is the size of a(n): bottle of sriracha or baseball hat. 😂
Upcoming appts: had my normal check today. I talked to her about my weight gain anxiety, my HR, back pain. All the things.
How are you feeling?: so emotional and so tired. About to nap with DS and I’m so excited.
Cravings/Aversions: I am SO hungry all the time. It’s like the hunger hit me like a ton of bricks. And if I don’t eat, I start shaking immediately.
Rants/Raves/Questions: does anyone have a brand of super supportive shoes they like? My OB said I need to stop wearing my Toms. Lol.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: probably when I was Britney Spears. It was so fun and it was a crowd favorite!
How are you feeling?: Ok. Lots of movement and lots of gaassss.
Cravings/Aversions: nothing particular
Rants/Raves/Questions: I had my anatomy scan today with mfm. Baby looked good supposedly, but they didn't tell me anything else, so I guess I wait for my OB to go over the report with me.
I'm also rather annoyed with how many times I had to repeat to hospital staff that I don't have high blood pressure, I don't have diabetes (and didn't have GD with my daughter), and I don't have hypothyroidism. I know I'm on the chubby side, but I felt like they thought I was lying. I was asked by three different people at least twice about the same things. They were also super pushy over wanting to do a vaginal exam and ultrasound, which I refused partially because it didn't match what my OB told me to expect, because they also didn't feel like telling me during the phone call when they gave me my appointment instructions, and they couldn't give me a good reason why for either specifically in my case (its just routine for them for all their mfm patients regardless of health or point in pregnancy). They want me to come back at 32 weeks and 37 weeks for growth scans. I'm not sure if I see the point of a 37 growth scan, but I'm thinking I'll ask my OB about it. Is there a good reason for it if they don't find a problem at 32 weeks? I didn't have any with my daughter at all and all I know is that they're frequently wrong on baby size.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: I've been a witch a few times and I like it.
Maybe I should start sleeping with the pregnancy pillow I bought a few weeks ago. My partner was side-eyeing how large it is, so I had avoided busting it out... but it's time!
@emilyace Mmm now I want a Milky Way!! Yum! Also, I'd love to see your Sally costume if you have a pic! I love Nightmare Before Christmas stuff!!
@stacey6689 I have been having trouble getting to sleep too. Normally, I'd be tired and in bed by 10 PM but these days, I find myself wide awake until midnight at least, just bored and awake.
@babyfox320 I'm sorry you've been sick. That's no fun at all! I hope you start to feel better soon. As for the low lying placenta, I haven't personally experienced that, but I know it's not an issue at this time and more often than not (like A LOT more often than not), it resolves itself and slides into a better-suited position. I hope that's the case for you!!
@treetop19 I, too, am craving all the sweet things. Gimme the chocolate!!!
@EmilyLove25 Oh man, the forecast for tomorrow is FREEZING here. It's supposed to be high of 30 with snow AND rain!!! I'm dying just at the idea of taking my 3 year old nephew around in that nonsense. That's sooo cold. Oh, and I, too, feel totally unprepared for the holiday season. Time is flying!!
@jenEP I'm craving all the sweets too! Or anything cheesy. It's a weird mixture of cravings over here, lol.
@miss.sally I start getting the shakes if I don't eat right away when hunger strikes, too! I almost passed out at the hair salon yesterday. It happened so fast.
@aerie_star So jealous that you're feeling so much movement. I can't wait! And I've never really heard of needing to go back for a growth scan at 37 weeks unless there was an issue with size up to that point, in which it would become routine to go in for growth scans. Weird!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team Pink! What a whirlwind it was to come to that conclusion, lol.
Baby is the size of a(n): Banana! Or a pint of lager, apparently.
Upcoming appts: Nov. 22 for the glucose test AND anatomy scan part two (they got all but one measurement last Friday at my actual anatomy scan, but I'm not complaining about a second U/S)
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. I don't really FEEL pregnant a lot, because the nausea and fatigue have dissipated a lot and I still have yet to feel the baby move. I'm hyper emotional always, about everything! And I'm usually starving, but then am super quick to be full. I'm a rollercoaster.
Cravings/Aversions: I want either all the cheesy things or all the chocolatey things. There is no middle ground. And as always, I want Arby's roast beefs.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I asked in the weekly question thread (last week's, oops!) if anyone was going to take any lamaze or childbirth class, and if so, when. I signed up for a lot of the smaller, basic classes already and my partner and I are going to take them throughout November and December (The Miracle of Birth, Breastfeeding Basics, Taking Care of You, Baby Care Users' Manual, & Infant Safety Class) but still need to sign up for the Lamaze class (it's a 6 hour course on a Saturday and I want to take it in 2020, but there are none listed yet) and the Whys of Cries class (the last one in 2019 was apparently on October 15, oops). I feel like I'm taking all the classes, lol. Anyone else?
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: I think my favorite was when I was Harley Quinn and my husband was the Joker. This was back in 2015, I think. It was amazing! But I generally love any and all Halloween costumes.
@emilyace thanks for starting our thread! I'm glad you're loving your pillow. I loved mine so much last time I referred to it as my boyfriend. I just can't get comfortable with it this time around. @stacey6689 I feel you on anxiety about the anatomy scan! I hope all goes well on Friday and you can have more peace of mind when you're done! @babyfox320 I hope you start feeling better soon! Being sick sucks...even more so when you can't take anything for it! @treetop19 I'm a plus 1 for Team Sweet! @EmilyLove25 I'm jealous you're taking the day off with your kids! FX that the weather holds out for you. EDD/W+D: 3/12 20+6
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: pink
Baby is the size of a(n): 10 inches
Upcoming appts: just had my anatomy scan on Monday (everything looked normal!)
How are you feeling?: more tired and cranky than normal, lol, but no major complaints.
Cravings/Aversions: my sweet tooth is back! I never like sweets, but craved sugar like crazy with DD. It took until this week for it to come back, but it's here! I ate three cookies at lunch and ice cream this evening.
Rants/Raves/Questions: speaking of sweets, I got into a big fight with my parents about how much sugar they've been feeding my 18 month old. I kind of lost it on them and they were suuuuuper defensive and it got kind of ugly. Thankfully we all cooled off and seem to be back on the same page.
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: maybe this year...I'm Ali Wong! I posted a pic in HDBD.
How are you feeling?: Alright, as long as I remember to take everything I feel ok
Cravings/Aversions: sweet cravings are coming back/loosing the aversion. Besides that I don’t have anything specific. Struggling with leftovers bc I want it when I want it then it no longer sounds good
Rants/Raves/Questions: DH felt the baby kick for the first time already! I’m shocked bc last time I had just started feeling the baby at 21 weeks and this time I have an anterior placenta but I seem to be feeling a lot despite that.
Also trick or treating was so fun with DS yesterday! (Our town is weird and does it night before). He was too shy to say trick or treat but he always said thank you so I count that as a win! We even went to a house with full sized candy bars!
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: Maybe poison ivy in college. Or Sookie Stackhouse. Both were a lot of fun!
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
@emilyace I finally pulled my pillow out again after it not being comfy earlier and it was heaven again! Looks like 20ish weeks is the sweet spot for me!
@babyfox320 I had a low lying placenta last time and it moved up by 32 weeks! My dr said it’s pretty common and moves up like 98% of the time. If for some reason it doesn’t they’ll just schedule a c-section so it’s not like the end of the world though obviously it’s nice to avoid. I was kind of bummed I don’t get the extra scan this time...
@aerie_star My hospital offers a class called I'm Going to be a Big Brother/Sister and it seems so sweet! Some of my friends put their littles through it and they loved it!
@emilyace I have also slept so much better the past few nights with my pregnancy pillow, so I think it's here to stay! @treetop19 "I have a beaver" is so cute! Hope he's better soon! @Malidocious I took a basic labor/delivery class and breastfeeding class through my hospital the first time, plus the hospital tour. They were both helpful! We couldn't commit to any of the ongoing weekly classes. I'm at a different hospital this time around, and will probably just do the tour.
EDD/W+D: 21+2
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue
Baby is the size of a(n): Chipotle burrito... which sounds amazing.
Upcoming appts: Standard checkup next week
How are you feeling?: Pretty good! I kept waking up through the night and not being able to fall back asleep. I slept with my snoogle the past 2 nights, and I slept much better, so I'm hoping to continue that!
Cravings/Aversions: Right now, I want pizza with banana peppers and buffalo chicken dip. Ha!
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rant: It's supposed to drop to the 30s, but feel like 20s for Halloween tonight. Blah. DS is two and old enough to be excited about it, so we're still taking him out for a bit. Rave: We're going to my aunt's house tonight for a little trick-or-treating and eating chili and hot dogs. I just ordered a super cute bundt cake I'm excited about! Yum! It's been "spirit" week at daycare, and DS has loved dressing up, so it's been really fun!
GTKY: What’s your favorite costume you have ever dressed in for Halloween?: When I was with my ex, we were Taylor Swift & Kanye West right after the big "Imma let you finish" MTV VMA fiasco. Everyone loved it! Last year, DH and I were Frankenstein's monster, and Bride of Frankenstein, and we had the green/white face makeup and wigs and everything, which was fun! Looking forward to some more family costumes over the next few years!
@mrsvp614 Thanks for your feedback!! We are taking a handful of little classes on breastfeeding basics, infant safety, etc. (each one is one two-hour class, none are part of a weekly course) and then one full-Saturday course on Lamaze. My partner is coming with me to each class. I just felt like the Lamaze class should probably be closer to my actual due date because I'd like it to be fresh in my mind when I go to deliver.
Had my Anatomy Scan this morning. Baby girl was not cooperating (laying on her belly) so I have to go back in 4 weeks to get some pictures of the heart but other than that she is healthy. It's always amazing getting to see her. HR 141 and she is measuring on track and weighting 1lb 2oz.
@aerie_star That
sounds super frustrating. It’s pretty black and white, you either do have those
things or you don’t. Answering once should be enough.
@malidocious That’s so funny that you keep wanting Arby’s
haha! Also I took a lot of classes too. I think birthing classes are so
important especially if you have a sense of the type of birth you want—unmedicated,
medicated, etc. Of course there is always so much you can’t control, the more
you KNOW about birth, the better. Listen to ALL the birth stories.
@EmilyLove25 This was the most frustrating and upsetting doctor's visit I've ever had in my life. I hate feeling like people think I'm lying to them. It also felt like they were trying to diagnose me with preeclampsia instead of worrying about my anatomy scan because that's all staff talked to me about. I know nothing about the baby besides it doesn't have a cleft lip and that it is 'ok'.
@aerie_star Oh man, what a huge bummer! I'm sorry they didn't talk more about the baby, but I'd like to think that's a good sign that everything else looked okay in there. Otherwise, I imagine they would have focused a bit more on that. But I can totally understand your frustration. I'm sorry!
@EmilyLove25 Mmm Arby's! I don't know what it is about Arby's right now except I used to eat the roast beef sandwiches every Sunday when I was a kid, so maybe it's hereditary and now my baby wants them? LOL! And thanks for your feedback on classes! I figured I'd rather be safe than sorry and take an abundance of courses rather than not enough. Plus my partner is pushing to go to as many as possible and learn ALL THE THINGS because he's absolutely terrified of the infant stage.
Lol @Malidocious I know you’ve talked about Arby’s since day one, but I’ve never eaten there! I also really can’t stand the thought of red meat right now. Except the occasional burger. I’m mostly like that when I’m not pregnant also.
I have eaten carry-out all but one day this week. I have been working later and napping longer and just not wanting to cook. And of course I've eaten candy every day this week as well. Poor Olaf's gonna be a sugar addict.
Fetal echo/gender check next week (hopefully baby is more cooperative this time), and then an immediate departure for the Bahamas. I can't wait.

@stacey6689 I feel you on anxiety about the anatomy scan! I hope all goes well on Friday and you can have more peace of mind when you're done!
@babyfox320 I hope you start feeling better soon! Being sick sucks...even more so when you can't take anything for it!
@treetop19 I'm a plus 1 for Team Sweet!
@EmilyLove25 I'm jealous you're taking the day off with your kids! FX that the weather holds out for you.

Baby is the size of a(n): chipotle burrito
Upcoming appts: not until late November

@treetop19 hope you and DS feel better soon!

@aerie_star That sounds super frustrating. It’s pretty black and white, you either do have those things or you don’t. Answering once should be enough.
@malidocious That’s so funny that you keep wanting Arby’s haha! Also I took a lot of classes too. I think birthing classes are so important especially if you have a sense of the type of birth you want—unmedicated, medicated, etc. Of course there is always so much you can’t control, the more you KNOW about birth, the better. Listen to ALL the birth stories.
