@NYTino24 Do what you need to do to protect yourself! Your hair will survive! I'm avoiding my stylist too because her other clients include other IL family members, and she ALWAYS asks me about having kids. I'm telling everyone/myself I'm growing my hair out to donate...

I set my alarm to get up early and get into work early today since we’re crazy busy the next 2 weeks. Turns out all I did was set the time but I never hit save so I woke up super late today. Grumblegrumble technology and dumb me.

@emeraldduchess I just checked our forecast and it says 35 and SNOW on Halloween.

That just means more Yoo-hoo for DH and I 😆 although I think the year it was in the 40s and misty rain was the year we got the most trick or treaters to our door. We'll see this year I guess.

witchfest part 2 - DH borrowed my car on Saturday and left it unlocked like a dingdong even though he has accidentally left his car unlocked before and it has been rifled through. Well, they went through my car and took my wallet from the center console (I know, I know, dumb I even had it in there but I honestly forgot) so I've been trying to figure out what's in there since yesterday. More annoying than anything else since cards are easy to cancel, but I can't get my insurance card to be replaced since they've already sent a new card for DH to be added to my insurance. I'm also sad because my wallet is gone, DH got it for me for Christmas several years ago and I really liked it

He's in the doghouse for sure but is in Phoenix for work so he can't even defend himself, lol. Perfect timing for our 3rd anniversary tomorrow since the traditional gift is leather?

Idk if this is much of a witchfest, but I joined Nextdoor recently and man, can some people be real tightwads!

Today a woman posted about her lost cat and this guy is getting his panties in a bunch that she's not providing her address. Minus all the details, after she finally provided a little more info like her street name the guy goes on about how cats don't go more than a few blocks when they get lost and ends his comment with "maybe you don't really want the cat back". What a jerk!

Dude continues some kind of BS in another comment calling her a banana brain all because she wouldn't give her location so I couldn't resist a "says the guy with [his neighborhood name] next to his name". Like dude, you can see the general area people are in by their neighborhood name. I don't think he realizes people can see that.

@inthewoods23 I’m in a Nextdoor fight too! People (older people with nothing else to do) are so rude on there. I made a post that just was an FYI about our cars and my stolen wallet, and even said in it “don’t be dumb like us” and this dude just said “I love how people are stupid enough to leave valuables in their car and then cry when they get stolen”

not in the mood today. I was like uh wouldn’t say I am crying about it, just making people aware. But thanks. I wish I could reply something sassy to another dude who was like omg this has been posted several times and it’s on the news but people don’t learn or listen. THIS WAS DONE ON ACCIDENT YOU IDIOT WE DIDNT INTENTIONALLY LEAVE IT UNLOCKED AND I DIDNT EVEN KNOW MY WALLET WAS IN THERE. I wrote a reply like “gosh I’m glad you’ve never made a mistake in your life” but Dh told me I’m not allowed to send it.

He actually had the NERVE to say "maybe you just need to change your outlook, maybe the problem is you?"
Super helpful.

Our loss on Oct 2, DH broke his back, our kitten died, and I have a horrible cold.
Yes, being susie fucking sunshine is going to bring our baby and our kitten back to life, heal DH's broken bones, and cure me of this cold.

@b_1029 We NEVER lock our cars. Or doors. They actually had an issue because a couple of teens kept "borrowing" cars that were unlocked, with the keys in the ignition. Like this was common enough they made a whole PSA thing about "not leaving your keys in the ignition" after it happened five or six times.
So. There is that.
I'm sorry your wallet was stolen, and that guy was a dick.

it was just annoying because its not like I posted it to be like omg I can’t believe someone stole my wallet woe is me. Then 2 dudes were all down my
throat about it. I said in my post that we made a mistake! It’s not like we (aka DH) left it open on purpose, geez glad you’re all so perfect. Some people have nothing better to do than be jerks on social media.

We live in a generally safe area, just petty theft like this. I assume it’s teenagers just walking up and down the streets trying to get quick cash. YOUTHS!!!!

@whatsbumpinpumpkin I'm so sorry, both for all the awful things happening and your dad's reaction. You went to him for support and got the opposite. The strange thing is is when people say things like that, they think they're helping

We have one in our "neighborhood" that I call the Fun Police. She complains every time someone has their fire pit going, among other things! My Next Door feed currently features a new neighbor's poll asking if it's ok if she turns her lights off and doesn't have candy for trick or treaters, and another person posted a photo of a dead rat she found in her yard. It's FB gone wild, basically.
