  • EDD: 2/5/20

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Pink

Baby is the size of a(n): Cher’s cellphone in Clueless

    Upcoming appointments: October 24

How are you feeling? : Large and in charge! Seriously, I am feeling really big this time, and I’m kind of down on how I look. Not feeling that “glow.” Otherwise, dealing with a nasty stomach bug (see below for Rant).

Raves/Rants: It’s been such a tough few days. First, my 4 year old got the stomach flu, then my mom (who watches my kids during the day) got it too. Husband was out of town, so I had to miss work Thursday and Friday. On Friday, 4 year old tells me he swallowed a magnet (?!). I have to rush him an hour away to a children’s hospital, where he gets xrays, etc. In case you are wondering, magnets can be very harmful when swallowed. I was absolutely beside myself with worry. Now we are hoping he passes it on his own, which means I have to dig through his poop for this teeny tiny magnet (even better since he also has the stomach bug). If he doesn’t pass it, he has to have surgery. It’s been so stressful. On top of that, now me and my 6 year old have the stomach bug and my husband is out of town again. Feeling very sorry for my boys (and myself).

Questions: Any STMs with experience on a kid who has ingested a non food item? This is definitely a first for me. How long did it take them to pass the object?

GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? I love to bake Christmas cookies.
  • @therealbitts I can’t offer any advice for you, but I hope your son passes the magnet soon and you and your family start to feel better!

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: BOY

Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a twizzler

Upcoming appointments: Next appt is a virtual appt on 11/5

How are you feeling? : I am good. Just really starting to feel big finally. But all is good.

Raves/Rants: MASSIVE RANT AHEAD. Life has been pretty stressful lately. My husband is still dealing with health issues, and just isn't able to be there for me like I thought he would be during this pregnancy. I am a strong person but am starting to break down and I am trying my hardest to not let it happen. All of it has me really stressed, and scared for when the baby is here and am freaking out that I will be doing this all "alone". And thennnn, my 3 year old Rottweiler has been limping here and there since this summer when she chased after my daughter on her dirt bike. We finally took her to the vet this weekend, and sure enough she tore her doggy ACL ANDDDD the surgery is at least $3500.  :'(:'(:'( This is the last thing we need to spend money on, and while I am thankful we have money in savings and can pay for it, it is still a huge expense we were not expecting before the holidays, and before the baby coming. Not to mention, recovery is around 2 months with crating her, only allowing her outside on a leash, physical therapy, more appts... I am just emotionally and mentally done. RAVE: My birthday is Wednesday, so I am treating myself to getting my hair done. And my best friend called to say she coming to get her hair done at the same time so we can hang out and have a girls night since I can't go out and have a drink or anything. So I am really looking forward to some pampering with my BFF tomorrow night. @therealbitts I have NO advice on the magnet, but I hope he passes it and does not require surgery. How scary. I hope you all start feeling better also. HUGS <3

    Questions:

GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? Love making Christmas cookies with my daughter. Also, it is a snack but I love making "nuts and bolts" as my Great Grandma called it, or Chex-mix.
  • @bg122785 thanks so much. I do too. It sounds like you are also under so much stress. I hope your husband and your dog are able to get well soon, so you can focus on you. This sounds so whiny, but I seriously just want someone to give me a hug and tell me that they will carry the mental and physical load for a while. I know that’s not possible (a mother’s work is never done), but it would be so nice. I keep trying to remember, “this too shall pass.” (And also, “this magnet shall pass.” 😆).

On a positive note, happy early birthday!! Enjoy your haircut and girls night! You deserve it ♥️
  • @therealbitts, what a week! Hope you all feel better soon and the magnet passes soon!

@bg122785, hugs! Do you have close family and friends who can help after baby is born if your H isn’t able to?
  • @therealbitts How scary! I hope you find the magnet soon.

@bg122785 So sorry to hear you're having a rough time. Our dog tore his CCL playing fetch over Thanksgiving two years ago so we can totally relate. The surgery was sooo expensive ($5K) and so unexpected. Recovery took a while, but our mutt was back to his shenanigans. I hope the surgery and recovery are smooth so as not to add more stress!

    EDD: 2/5

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Furby

Upcoming appointments: 10/24 is my glucose test

How are you feeling?: Hit or miss. I feel great now, but over the weekend I felt weak and like I wasn't getting enough oxygen. I have an irregular heartbeat and that sometimes can make me feel like my breathing isn't as productive as it should be. I didn't have this problem with #1, but I guess every pregnancy really is different.

Raves/Rants: I'm dreading my glucose test. I had GD with the first, and even though I know it's possible that I won't have it this go around, I'm pretty sure I will. I already have a lot of the other risk factors since I'm overweight and I have a family history of diabetes. All the more reason to shed this baby weight as soon as I can after delivery.

    Questions: Not this week!

GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? I always make the garlic mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese. But honestly, my favorite dish to make is my cinnamon applesauce. It's sooo easy, but it makes the whole house smell delicious. I also prefer it on my turkey over cranberry sauce. I've made a no sugar added version for my daughter the past couple of years, but I think I'll allow her to have a taste of the regular one this year.

  • @therealbitts Thank you so much!! And I definitely agree with you. Life can be so trying sometimes, but I am just trying keep reminding myself that this is not forever. And YES, I agree. I literally told my husband that last night. I was like this sounds so incredibly selfish, but I NEED someone to take care of me. So bad. So, I totally feel you on that one. Creepy internet hugs to you! <3
@jvk2012 I do thankfully. My parents and in-laws are both just 10 mins away, so if help is needed I know I can always count on them. I know my husband will never not be there for us and he has promised I will not be doing this alone. But if he doesn't get his symptoms of always feeling dehydrated figured out, it will be a struggle for him and it breaks my heart. The turd cancelled his appt on 10/5 because he was so anxious about it but has one 11/5 that I will be dragging him to. So fingers crossed we will have answers soon!
@lanie1000 Oh man, I am sorry you have had to go through this also with your dog. NOT FUN! But I am thankful to hear a positive outcome, and I am glad your pup is doing so much better! Definitely makes me feel better about this whole situation. <3 I am also nervous about my Glucose test. I have that the 24th also. I did not have GD with my daughter, but am more overweight this pregnancy so I am nervous to see if I have it this time around. Good luck to you and fingers crossed you pass with no GD!

  • @bg122785 I am so sorry that life feels so overwhelming right now. Sending you lots of love and hugs.

@therealbitts Ugh! Poor you and poor kiddo, but also so gross that you have to dig through stomach bug poo.

    EDD: Feb 1/24+2

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): Canteloupe and his/her fingers are the size of coffee beans

    Upcoming appointments: Thursday

How are you feeling? : Right now tired, headachey, and very over people. It is Thanksgiving in Canada today and we had MH's family over for dinner. This was after having my family over on Saturday and MH's brother and his family staying with us all weekend. Generally, though, I feel great.

Raves/Rants: Raves - baby had been moving so much today. S/he is also into doing this thing where it feels like s/he may be stretching, so lots of increased pressure just above my bladder and then I feel a little head, bum, or limb poking out. It's pretty adorable.
Rant-I feel like a terrible auntie for saying this because I really do love my niece, but I am glad she has gone home because she was driving me a bit bonkers this weekend. She is 7, pretty hyperactive, kind of spoiled (because she is the youngest child and, currently, grandchild) and has no sense of personal space or boundaries. I am her absolute favourite person and since she doesn't see us often I was tailed all weekend at a time when I really need a bit more space because I am so tired. A couple of different times MH suggested I lock myself in our bedroom to take a nap, but then she would be knocking on the door every 15 minutes because everyone else was preoccupied. 😞

    Questions:

GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? Stuffing, ginger snaps, and shortbread.
  • @therealbitts oh my goodness, I am so sorry that it's been such a tough week in your household! In case you needed to hear this today - you are doing an AMAZING job!! Hang in there.

@bg122785 I've been thinking about you and your husband's health issues, and wondered if you had any answers. I'm so sorry it's still a mystery, and that he's struggling to support you during this pregnancy. Ugh, and having an injured fur baby is so tough! I'm thinking about you guys!
  • @mandk1233 you’re not a bad aunt! 7 year olds are trying as it is. I definitely have moments where I need my personal space and alone time. I’m sure she didn’t even notice!

    @malloryfrommn thank you! 💜
  • @therealbitts Thank you. I really needed to hear that.
  • Thank you @malloryfrommn ! <3 Hopefully answers soon! Might lose my marbles if this specialist can't figure it out! lol
  • EDD: 2/1, 24+6

Baby is the size of a(n): eggplant

    Upcoming appointments: 11/12

How are you feeling? : most of the day I feel great, but the round ligament pain and back pain when sleeping is the worst.

Raves/Rants: rave- my appointment went well this week and my doctor answered a lot of my questions about labor and delivery so I can start thinking ahead to that. Rant- round ligament pain and that I can’t run or do the elliptical anymore. I’m going on walks now but it’s just not the same as the cardio I get from running

    Questions:

GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? Favorite dish to make is Mac and cheese, my favorite dish to eat is stuffing
