My official due date was 10/06/2019.

On 10/05/2019 my SO and I went to the movies (Joker) at 9:45 pm. 40 minutes remaining in the movie, I started having contractions. Nothing major, but, they were coming about every 2-3 minutes and lasting about 40-60 seconds. My SO (Brandon) noticed and asked if we should go to the hospital. I said “no, it hasn’t been an hour, we’ll finish the movie and head home”.

And we did exactly that. Once we headed back, I told him that we’ll pack the remaining “necessities” for the hospital bag and I’ll keep track of the contractions. Like I said before, they weren’t crazy, but they were consistent. So, we packed and headed to the hospital and arrived around 1:30. By the time we got admitted in the room, and set up it was 2:00am.

The hooked me up to monitors and kept track. They checked my cervix and I was 3 1/2 cm dilated. They said “you’re definitely staying and having a baby today, but, we’re going to induce you on a minor induction” “we’ll get you started on pitocin and break your water”.

I was then put in a L&D room. And hooked up on an IV. While being monitored, they noticed that my contractions were slowly becoming more distant. So they started the pitocin. About an hour on that, my water broke naturally. Once that happened, I got an epidural at 7am.

About 2 hours into my epidural, she asked if I felt any pressure, and by then, I didn’t. But, then the next contraction happened and I felt an insane amount of pressure as if she was crowning. I told Brandon to get up and page the nurse immediately!

They came in, checked my cervix and I was ready to push. They said “are you ready daddy? Cause we’re about to have a baby”. I pushed 3 times during each contraction (4 contractions total) and out came my little Clementine Jane at 9:29am on her actual due date! She weighed 7.6lbs & 19” long
