Re: TTTC Check In 10/7/19

  • QOTW: What is the best thing that has happened to you in 2019 so far? I got to visit my family in Alberta for my brother's wedding. It was only a week, but it was great seeing them again. I also got to go to the Rockies for the first time since I was a kid. It was a great vacation and actually the first full trip DH and I have taken together.

Any Rants/Raves from this past week? Tell us about it! Nothing from last week other than our plan for our first IVF cycle was tentatively set. Trying not to count the days every 10 seconds
  • @meri-mac sounds like you've had some fun vacations!

QOTW: What is the best thing that has happened to you in 2019 so far?
Probably the best thing was signing up for the robot lawn mower service. DH hasn't had to go out in the heat to keep it trimmed! It allowed us to get more areas landscaped. We learned using slate rock instead of mulch is amazing! Also our deck was torn down and we had a new one built. We haven't used it as much as I would have liked, but there's always next year!

Also DH is getting a promotion at some point this year so that'll be a nice boost.

Any Rants/Raves from this past week? Tell us about it!
Some test results have come back already. Everything looks ok so far! Not sure how many more results to expect.

After talking with the RE I think we will choose to keep the transfer as a medicated cycle. If they find chronic inflammation and put me on the depot lupron for X number of months, it apparently can take a while for the cycle to come back to do the natural transfer. If we do medicated, we can move right from the depot lupron into the subcutaneous lupron at the start of the FET cycle.

  • @inthewoods23 So happy everything is looking good thus far! When would the next FET cycle be?
  • @meri-mac it won't be until January, maybe February. It sucks, but at the same time it's a nice break from the craziness

  • @inthewoods23 robot lawn mower? I need this! And the deck sounds nice! As for your FET glad they have a good plan for you, and in some ways it will be nice to wait until after holiday craziness. So glad to hear your test results are positive.

@meri-mac FX the wait isn’t too bad for you. Sounds like you had a productive appointment at least!

AFM just waiting ... follicle Check next week. Found out DH didn’t get the job we were hoping for so just keep plodding along.

QOTW: Best thing in 2019 was summer trip with the DH, lots of hiking and wildlife and got to spend some time with family.
  • @hithertorue you doing okay? How is the switch to IUI going for you emotionally? Thinking about you a bunch!

@inthewoods23 Enjoy the break! I hope you get to relax and recharge to be all ready for January/February!

@2dogsmom Sorry about the job :( I'm glad you had a fun and active summer and I will keep everything crossed for your follicle count!
  • Hey ladies!

@2dogsmom thanks for starting the thread again!!

Rant-- I've been so sick with a flu bug since Sunday! Fever, aches, sore throat like never before the first 2 days, then crazy congestion yesterday and then now moved to the chest. Like new symptom per day. Ugh!! No energy. Just got an appetite this afternoon so let's hope all done. Took yesterday completely off and worked for just a few hours in the morning Monday and today to get things done as needed.

Still in my TWW, beta next Tuesday after our Thanksgiving long weekend. Trying to not think about. Hasn't been too hard these last few days. Other than I would have loved to have a neocitron the other night and couldn't.

QOTW: highlight for me was also a trip- also to Alberta!! We went to Banff, Alberta for some snowboarding in the Canadian Rockies in January. It was great to be away and we had a ton of fun.

@meri-mac great that you've got a plan and time will fly!! Promise!

@inthewoods23 glad your results have all been positive thus far! Do you have many appointments between now and January or will it be fairly laid back?

@2dogsmom my fingers are crossed for a great cycle for you this time around. Prayers all will be well and you can put the last one behind you.

  • @hithertorue Tuesday! So exciting!! Fx for you. Your trips sound amazing. I didn't get to snowboard, but I had Mexican food at The Toad and Stump
  • @hithertorue next cycle is a mock transfer with an endometrial biopsy for the ERA and Receptiva testing. One tests for inflammation (if positive requires the depot lupron shot) and the other tests the timing of transfer. Usually that shifts the transfer date by a day or half a day. Basically that can show if my uterus is on "day 5" when transferring a day 5 embryo.

  • @inthewoods23 how does a mock transfer work? Sounds like you’ll be busy even before your next FET.

@hithertorue you poor thing!! Being that sick is so totally miserable and then not being able to take meds since you don’t know just makes it even worse. I sure hope you feel better soon!!

We got hubby’s analysis back today — everything looks the same as it did 6 months ago so absolutely no clue what happened with our last IUI. Best guess is it was a fluke, so hopefully we will have a normal IUI process this month.
  • @2dogsmom it's quick and simple. You go in with a full bladder. They use a catheter and with US find the spot where the embryo will go and they measure that distance that the catheter was inserted so that placement is the same come the actual transfer.
