Welcome, new members! Please read The Ultimate TTGP Guide pinned at the top of the board (https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12685680/the-ultimate-ttgp-guide-newbies-read-this-first/p1). It's full of information about TTGP and about our community here on The Bump. Please introduce yourself and share as much (or as little) as you would like. Once you're ready, feel free to jump into any of our daily/weekly threads to participate in the community!
Ages (you and SO):
How many months have you been TTC?:
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?:
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.):
My husband and I are TTC. I'm 27 and he's 26. We have two dogs and probably too many houseplants
We only recently began seeking medical advice/treatment. I received a PCOS diagnosis in September which wasn't entirely a surprise to me given my symptoms. As of right now, we're not sure what our next steps are-- most likely Clomid, but I have a follow up appointment to discuss options next week.
I seem to be the only one in either of our (quite large) families who is struggling or has struggled with fertility issues, and I don't think I'm really ready to discuss it yet with loved ones (other than mh, of course). So, I'm hoping this community will be a healthy way to connect with others who are on the same journey. I've been surprised to find how isolating this experience can be.
I feel bittersweet about the PCOS diagnosis. On one hand, it certainly feels good to have a reason why my body acts so unpredictably and why we've had trouble conceiving thus far. On the other hand, this answer sort of makes the fertility issues that much more "real" instead of just something that will work itself out in time (like I had been halfheartedly reassuring myself). Currently, I'm working on staying hopeful and not letting my "okay-let's-fix-it-what-do-we-do-next" attitude take over too much.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to lurking and contributing on here. Hubs is the best and so very supportive, but I think there's something uniquely comforting about connecting with other women. Our bodies are amazing and can also be so complicated sometimes!
I figured I should probably intro since I have been obsessively lurking and love tit-ing things for 3 days now and intend to continue lurking and loving until hubby and I start actively TTC.
Ages (you and SO): I'm 30 and hubby is 37
How many months have you been TTC?: None yet. I have an appointment to get my IUD out on Nov 13th. Can't wait!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: For now, I am doing all my research and trying to learn as much as I can. Articles online are too impersonal and I think I've read it all now, so I decided I would jump back onto TB to learn from people actually going through it. I have also started paying more attention to my body, especially cervical mucous. Also starting to familiarize myself with some of the available apps for tracking temps and what not. I am new to the whole TTC world. Other than that I have just been trying to get healthier (have lost 21 lbs since July 21st).
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): DH and I have one 4.5yo daughter and a 9 mo old pup named Krypto. We live in Florida. We love movies, TV, all things Disney and Superheroes. I love cooking, baking, shopping, and traveling when I can. I have a super basic obsession with pumpkin spice and hate that there is no real fall season in Florida.
I am really looking forward to getting to know you all! I was a member of the D14 BMB before I had my daughter and loved connecting with so many amazing women. I will most likely continue to lurk until I get my IUD removed so that I can continue to learn from you all.
How many months have you been TTC?: 2 cycles so far.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Right now just "going with the flow" - I'm going to start temping next cycle.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I'm a divorced mom of a 13 year old girl (hardest age everrrr). I have been with my BF for just about 3 years now - he has an year old daughter. And we recently decided we wanted to attempt to have one together. It took is awhile to reach that decision (because of our ages, the ages of our kids, we both thought we were done etc) but we are fully there now.
I'm a SAHM, he's in the police force. My biggest hobby of ALL time is reading. I could read all day. I also love stickering up my planner, traveling, drinking coffee, hiking and yoga.
I used to be quite active on the Bump ("one and done" board! haha!) but haven't been around for years. Loooking forward to jumping back in.
Hi, all! I posted in yesterday’s TWW board but thought I’d officially introduce myself here.
My husband and I are 34.
We’ve been trying for seven months now and heading into month eight tomorrow when I expect I’ll get my period after several days of BFNs and lower temps... womp.
WAYDTGKU: For the first few months just winging it, but nowww we’re timing every other day; I’m using OPKs and charting temps, eating healthy-ish, taking prenatals, reminding my husband to take his vitamins, cutting down on alcohol and caffeine, meditating, doing yoga, praying, lurking, sleeping with a St. Gerard medal under my pillow, standing on my head, writing letters to my potential future children, avoiding black cats and broken mirrors, and trying to cling to my sanity via Netflix and potato chips 🙃 Last month I had my hormones checked, just for some peace of mind, and all was normal, so my fingers remain crossed.
I’m a teacher, which takes up most of my time; I love to read, cook, do crossword puzzles, and walk our dog. My husband and I have very different work schedules and we don’t see each other much during the week (except when I’m ovulating, he wakes me up in the middle of the night, and then I go back to sleep haha), so on weekends I enjoy catching up with him. He’s great, but I agree with @faith_2911 and am feeling the need for community, so here I am.
