@bluetickgal I had an HSG done, not the SHG (these are very confusing so similar from what I’ve read though lol). I don’t know if the SHG will show your follies, but you should be monitored on the letrozole with ultrasounds that will show your how your follies and lining are growing, thats when they will determine your IUI (I think that’s what you’re doing this cycle, right?!) and if not, that’s what will tell them when you should have TI then. Usually they want to see you on CD 12 for the first ultrasound and blood work.
In General though, I am just so very glad you are finally back in the WTO!’ What a road you have been on. Your vacation couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! ♥️♥️♥️

@nitnat007 Definitely supporting you in the positive waves of thinking! How wonderful that things may very possibly fall into place so quickly. FX for your dr to allow for the sperm’s late arrival.
@feather_heather Congratulations, that is such exciting news! I hope time flies for you until the 18th.
@bluetickgal Yay for getting back in the ‘trying’ game again! So much forward movement on this board recently. Hoping the best for you!
@misshelen86 I hope you’ve had a little more time to process all the info you got at the appointment. It’s great that you have the beginning of your plan! Re: your IUI question, you’re right to consider whether his first SA count was the main issue: at 13mil it could get very low after the wash, but it also could be reasonable & you might have a chance at IUI success. Also, his next SA might be much higher. My RE’s nurse said they’ve had people be successful when they inseminated with as little as 10mil sperm. We’ve done 3 IUIs & I don’t regret any of them. Plus, my new insurance is like NYTino’s: it requires 3 failed IUIs before approving IVF, so either way it’s getting us hopefully closer to our THB. MH had decent numbers at our first SA—something like 35mil—but each time after a wash it went down to 15mil. I put him on fertility vitamins 6 weeks ago: this last IUI (where we HIO only 36 hours before, probably too close to procedure) he started w a sample of 15mil sperm & after the wash still had 15mil strong sperm. Maybe it’s worth it for you to try one IUI and see how YH’s numbers fare after the wash? Also *TW re: IUI success/loss*
Our first two IUIs were initially successful, although they ended in chemicals. We’re awaiting the results of the 3rd IUI now. Even though we had losses I’m grateful for the info that the IUIs gave us: they seem to point to me having an issue with implantation. So that helped us hone in on some treatments.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): We did the IUI 12 days ago. So now it’s beta time. My results take awhile to process since my dr is far away so I won’t know anything definitive till the end of the week maybe.
How are things going?: Like so many of us here, I’ve definitely had my ups & downs during this TWW, as has MH. I’m an eternal optimist so hoping for the best.🤞🏽
Any questions?: Has anyone else on our boards worked with a Reproductive Immunologist, either now or past posters?
GTKY: what are your SO's best/worst traits? He’s supportive to a fault. If I wanted to dye my hair green and put diamonds on my teeth he’d think it would make me look beautiful. I can’t ask him if something is a good idea because he thinks all my ideas are great. He’s amazing around the house: his OCD has him up early doing laundry & cleaning the kitchen to sparkling at night. Worst traits are his OCD taking over everything when I just want to leave the house as is, get outside & enjoy the day. He’s also very stubborn and insists on being right.
@kpearse99 yeah...from what I understand the SHG & HSG are pretty similar, but the SHG doesn’t check tubes like the HSG does. As far as I know I’m not being monitored now (this will be the first cycle with the RE). I’ll verify on Thursday...but I think I asked at the first appt and he said it wouldn’t be necessary. *TW (loss mentioned) - he indicated that the fact that we have gotten pregnant twice but have lost both indicates that getting pregnant isn’t the issue with the current med protocol, but figuring out why we are losing them. - End TW* I was kind of expecting to be monitored once we switched to the RE, but I don’t think that's the case at this time. We are doing TI, no IUI unless we go another 6 cycles with no success. Thank you for all the info...maybe I should push for being monitored? Yes, vacation came at a perfect time!!
@keikilove thank you!! I’ve got my fingers crossed you get great news by the end of the week!! Gotta love the supportive to a fault H!
@bluetickgal I had to go to the doc yesterday because I need a note to miss work the day before a holiday and I don’t have the flu. They think it was an insane virus. For example, my temp was 98.3 and I had been sweating on my way there. They retook it 10-15 minutes later and it was back up to 99.5. It was 97.66 when I woke up today and that’s a huge drop from 103! @keikilove I actually don’t have to do IUI at all before going to IVF. I just have to have two (abnormal?) SA on file.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Hi all. Sorry this thread got away from me this week, I’ve been too down in the dumps to put together any sort of thoughtful replies. Another failed cycle and it’s hitting me hard. I’m going to take a bump break for a while but just know that I’m thinking of everyone on this thread and hoping that by the time I come back, there are less of you ❤️
@b_1029 Thinking of you. We love you! Take whatever time you need. We will be here.

@keikilove I can't believe how long it takes for you to get your results!! How do you not go insane?! I've got every single thing crossed for you though
@bluetickgal I feel like I don't know enough about RE's and fertility medications to answer but I kind a do think you should push to be monitored. Did your RE just tell you to use OPKs then to detect O? Maybe you can work something out where you call when you get a peak or high OPK and go in to check follie size and confirm O is about to happen, so you can really TI?

Just remembered I was supposed to start progesterone yesterday. Damn sickness. I’m so emotional this cycle and I don’t wanna see it get worse on the progesterone.

@NYTino24 glad it’s not the flu...hope the virus goes away soon, I’d say that’s a great sign your temp is down this morning!
@b_1029 so sorry friend...sending all the hugs! 💜 Hope the break helps! We will miss you, but totally understand!
@kpearse99 I don’t use OPK’s, I just temp. I was thinking about starting OPK’s back just to have more clarification on O since I’m supposed to start progesterone 3 days after. I’ll talk to them about it all tomorrow though to see what would be best! There was confusion on whether we would be trying this cycle anyways, so I need to get that all figured out!
@bluetickgal I hope you had a great and restful vacay, and good luck off the bench!!
@b_1029 I don't have anything else to add to what others have said, but I sincerely hope the break does you well and that your next IUI is your last.
@keikilove all the good vibes for making it through this TWW!! ❤️
AFM- AF showed up yesterday so I just got back from a CD2 ultrasound. It was kinda weird to have one while literally bleeding all over the table, the ultrasound wand, etc. But I guess they were checking for cysts before starting me on Letrozole. Unfortunately she couldn't find my right ovary but they are okay with starting me as long as BW comes back normal. She did ask if I was a runner because I apparently have nice big blood vessels lol. I said I used to be (I've ran 3 marathons and maybe a dozen halfs) but haven't much since starting TTC. But good to know the blood vessels are still looking good after mostly sitting on my butt since last summer...
@jennifer_louise sometimes those ovaries like to hide! Glad you got the go ahead for letrozole!
I have always wondered how gross things gets on those early CD USs. 😖

@kpearse99@hanshotfirst77 I commend you for waiting, but I also selfishly can’t wait to know! I have such a good feeling for both of you!! 💜
AFM, my SHG was all clear and we can officially start trying again!! I got my prescription for progesterone to start 3 days after O. I asked about monitoring, and he said he didn’t think it was necessary since we aren’t doing IUI. He said he could if I wanted to, but it wouldn’t really change anything and could end up just being more stressful. He said he is confident we will get pregnant and hopefully the progesterone will do the trick! So here’s to hoping he is right!
@ruby696 pretty sure that's gonna be me in the future. You can't just quit TTGP cold turkey! #foreverlurking

@hanshotfirst77 it totally does!!!! FX so hard for you, girl!!! I am so hopeful for you!
@inthewoods23 EXACTLY!!! That's how I felt last night!! All day yesterday I just feel "different" or "off". I had this weird pressure-like or heavy sensation in my lower abdomen. (not cramps or anything painful or uncomfortable...) and then I swear I started to feel a little nausea. This morning, so far, totally normal so I'm right back to "AF is on her way" haha The mind games are the absolute worst!

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
@keikilove thank you!! I’ve got my fingers crossed you get great news by the end of the week!! Gotta love the supportive to a fault H!
@keikilove I actually don’t have to do IUI at all before going to IVF. I just have to have two (abnormal?) SA on file.

@b_1029 so sorry friend...sending all the hugs! 💜 Hope the break helps! We will miss you, but totally understand!
@kpearse99 I don’t use OPK’s, I just temp. I was thinking about starting OPK’s back just to have more clarification on O since I’m supposed to start progesterone 3 days after. I’ll talk to them about it all tomorrow though to see what would be best! There was confusion on whether we would be trying this cycle anyways, so I need to get that all figured out!
I have always wondered how gross things gets on those early CD USs. 😖

Even if it's not all the way out, your tests will get darker if it's not the trigger. So I say test away @kpearse99!
