Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.):
Seems like this isn't a popular thread but here goes nothing!
Age: I'm 30, DH is 31
TTC: Since late May
WAYDTGKU: Ovulation strips (I know there's an acronym here but there's a lot/can't remember them all/also there's totally some new ones I can't find on the previous how-tos lol), eyeballing CF as much as I can/understand how to, prenatals, attempting to track my periods that decided to shift around as soon as we started TTC.
About me: I work in the nonprofit and arts world, no kids yet but two fur children of the cat variety, like to volunteer at the local elementary school in my neighborhood and also have dinner parties with friends and explore new things in my city even though I've lived here 9 years.
Feeling a bit anxious about this TTC business even though it's only be 3 cycles of trying which I know is minimal, I just would have loved to have had a kiddo before turning 31 and as of this last cycle that ship has officially sailed barring something unusual happening. Also know that this is a silly thought given folks can have a child well into 30s/40s.
Welcome to TTC. 👋 Ovulation strips/tests are called OPK. (ovulation prediction kit) that’s cool you work in nonprofit and arts world. I have a cat too who is my fur baby ❤️ Dinner parties are always fun. I enjoy them too. I know the feeling on TTC. I get a bit anxious myself. I hope your time here is short. Feel free to join in on any of the daily threads when your ready.
How many months have you been TTC?: this is the first cycle, but I was around for my first two pregnancies, one of which was a loss
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: not a lot yet. I do have borderline low progesterone so I’ll use that after ovulation. OPKs are never positive for me, probably because I drink a ton of water.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I have a daughter that is almost 3. I’m a nurse manager in a nursing home, second career after training horses, which doesn’t pay the bills so well. I have two Border collies that I show and do other things like agility and herding with. I live in MN after growing up in OR (if you’ve seen The Goonies, you’ve seen my hometown).

@HotSauceSwagBag welcome back! I love horses - hoping to get back to riding when my bank account grows a little more because... totally agree... tough on the wallet any way you slice it.
@HotSauceSwagBag hi there and welcome back! Sorry for your loss. I love your user name btw haha 😆 I also work in a nursing home ☺️ ❤️ But I’m not a nurse, I do the recreational therapy. Where in MN do you live? I’m Canadian but I used to live in MN for a while. Ps. I LOVE the Goonies lol like all time Fav movie 🍿👍

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Flo app and looking for EWCM. Right now I'm in the TWW. DH and I were diagnosed with unexplained sub-fertility earlier this year. We decided to try naturally for a few months. Unfortunately, that did not work so in August we decided to proceed with IVF. I had my bloodwork updated and have a meeting this week with the RE to go over the whole process. I am happy to have a plan, even though it wasn't what we had originally envisioned for us.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.):
I was a fairly active member on the TTGP board last year, but after some soul searching decided to take a step back. The whole TTC process became quite difficult for me to deal with. I found myself googling symptoms over and over again, becoming more and more obsessed. So for my mental health, I left TB (and Dr. Google) for a while. After quite a lot of time away, I would like to be a part of the community again and offer the support I can, if you'll have me
Non-TTC information: We have one "fluffy" tortoise shell cat named Ada and a very furry pupper named Ellie who is the happiest little husky mix you will ever meet. I am a huge fan of British TV, often binging Cats Does Countdown and QI in the evenings while knitting. I am currently working on leg warmers for a cousin-in-law because Christmas is approaching more quickly than I'd like. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

@whatsbumpinpumpkin - I’m brand new here, but I’m very sorry you’re back. I’ve been through it and it sucks
I’ll jump in with my intro:
Ages (you and SO): I’m 37, my husband is 50
How many months have you been TTC?: We’re still on the bench, but my Mirena is coming out on Monday. So we’ll start then!
What are you doing to get knocked up? Alllll the sex, ha.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Really didn’t think I’d be back. We have three kids ages 4.5, 3, and 18 months. Our plan was to be done, but both my husband and I feel that one more will complete our family. So here I am! We live in MA, have 2 dogs, a cat, and 19 chickens. Chickens are so weird and hilarious and I love them. I’m a SAHM. I’ve been on TB for each of my pregnancies and I *love* this community. Excited to get to know you all! Hopefully it’s a short stay in TTGP for everyone
@kmalls welcome back to TB. Sounds like you guys have a very busy household. 19 chickens wow lol. My older brother has chickens too and yes they are very weird and funny but oh so cute lol. Hope your stay is short.
I've been off and on for quite a while, but disappeared completely due to crazy schedules and a faulty laptop I still need to replace. Anyway, re-intro'ing because it's been so long.
Ages (you and SO): Both 35.
How many months have you been TTC?: About two and a half years.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Tracking, temping, HIO, occasional OPKs (they don't always work for me). I went to two different REs due to low AMH and both refused to treat me because of my weight.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): DH and I both work for a rather well known mouse. I was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve about two years ago. We also found out I had a cyst on my left ovary, and by the time they looked at it again, it was the size of a dang cantaloupe. It was surgically removed in August. Still have both ovaries, thankfully. We have no kids, but we do have a furbaby. She's a tortoiseshell cat named Phantom who's a little old lady who loves feather teasers (that sounds so dirty), sunny windows, and her Greenie treats. I love Disney, horror movies, sci fi, heavy metal, and baking.
How many months have you been TTC?: Less than one - this is our first month TTC. I have a history of irregular periods which have just started regulating with a long cycle of 34 days. Working on figuring it all out.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Doing as much research as possible and trying to work on ovulation tracking.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Hi! We have a 4 month old Standard poodle named Charlie with some separation anxiety but we are working on it - he is such a sweetheart. We also have two cats that are 5 - August and Sero (short for Serotonin;)). We both work full time, I’m in administration at a hospital and he is a software engineer. We love travelling, going to the dog park, watching tv, reading and redecorating our house currently.
@whatsbumpinpumpkin oh no! I'm newer so I wasn't here when you were here before but still I'm so sorry. I have had losses myself and I know how bad it hurts. It is so horribly unfair. I hope you get your take home baby soon.
Tw: mention of pregnancy/LC
@kmalls were you on June '18? Or June '17? I swear I recognize you from somewhere.
Me: 28 Husband: 31 TTC#1: January 2015- September 2016 Infertility, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Rainbow baby born June 6, 2017 ❤️
@NamelessAria you’re super familiar, too! I was very active in TTGP prior to my last pregnancy. My BMB was April ‘18, so I was on TTGP, like...way before that. I can’t even do the math
Hi! I didn’t see a new newbie thread for this week, so reviving last weeks.
It has been a few years since I was active on here, but some repeat names sound familiar! Hi!
Ages (you and SO): 36, 41
How many months have you been TTC?: NTNP for a few months, this is our first TTC
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: The fun stuff for now!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): We have a daughter who is 20 months that took us 3 years of TTGP, and almost a year of fertility treatments to conceive. Hoping this go around isn’t the same, but thankful for what we have! We also have a fur baby in the form of a Bernese Mountain Dog that may make an appearance in stories and photos occasionally! I work in the startup world and main hobbies these days is reading, because I can sneak some in after everyone is asleep or running; training for my first half marathon.
I found encouragement, knowledge, and support the last time I was here, hoping to find and offer the same again!
Hi! I also didnt find a newbie thread for the current week, so jumping in here too
Ages (you and SO): 35 and 36
How many months have you been TTC?: since April 2019...this is cycle #6
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Tempdrop, prenatals, sometimes trying to SMEP, and overall trying to relax
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): We have 1 son who is 2 1/2 years old. It took us just over a year of TTGP for him, so i know in the back of my head this could be a long process still. His big fur brother is 6 years old, and is my one true love. He keeps me sane and is my best cuddle buddy. Im an accountant who works for a large accounting firm and DH is an engineer. We love biking, hiking, and being outdoors in general. Oh and i love cookies and coffee 🍪☕️
I realized i need a support group this time around so im hoping to keep up and get to know some of you other ladies TTC
