October appointments

*how far along are you?

*what was the appointment for?

*anything else to share?

Re: October appointments

  • 6w today. The nurse practitioner said my uterus feels larger and tilted forward which is great. Got another blood draw for hcg and antibody screens. Results should be tomorrow. She also scheduled an ultrasound for Thursday which is at 6+3 because of spotting early in the pregnancy. It makes me nervous because I waited until 8w with my first. I guess it's better to know sooner than later what's going on in there.
  • Thursday for a second HCG draw. My first was last Thursday (10/3) when I'm guessing I was only about 10 DPO. Those levels were only 29 so I'm hoping they've gone way way up! Waiting to find out this week is so hard.

@runwmusic Good luck with your ultrasound! I'll be getting one early this time as well (7 weeks) if all looks good with my HCG counts.

  • @marfi236 what's dp dt mean?
So glad your first beta was so high.
Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us! @thinkpositive2017
  • @runwmusic it’s IVF terminology.  9dp5dt means 9 days past a 5 day embryo transfer in normal terms it would mean 14dpo.

  • My hcg looks good at 6 weeks exactly 21,688! Two more days until the ultrasound  <3
  • @NikkiSings I hope it went/goes well today! I looked up Invocell IVF to see if it was the kind I thought. I had heard about that! It’s so cool! (Not needing it but the option is.) I hope that it increases access for people. Or, you know, that more than 8 or 9 states would mandate fertility coverage. 😒

  • @kiki75 Thank you! Yes, it was a bit of a journey for us but ultimately the Invocell worked great. My u/s was great! They wanted to be sure it wasn't ectopic (I've has tube issues in the past). There's definitely one good-looking sac in there, hooray!! I go back in one week.
  • @nikkisings yey!!! So glad to hear it!
  • I just scheduled a dating ultrasound for 10/18.

    *how far along are you?
think I'm 5 weeks today. So this appointment will be right around 6 weeks.

    *what was the appointment for?
To date the pregnancy. I am hoping I'm at least 6 weeks by the appointment so there's a better chance of seeing the heartbeat!

    *anything else to share?
I had betas drawn a week apart. 10/3 HCG levels were 29. 10/10 levels were 913! Doubling faster than every 48 hours. The higher levels from yesterday's draw make me think I'm 5 weeks rather than my original guess of 4+4.

  • 5 weeks, 5 days

I got a call yesterday telling me that my betas from last week didn’t quite double and that my progesterone went down so they were concerned and wanted me to come in ASAP. I was a wreck after two previous losses so I was expecting the worst but thankfully transvaginal ultrasound had me measuring exactly 5 weeks, 5 days which date wise is exact. And there was visible growth since last week’s ultrasound so doctor was very pleased. Gestational sac grew, yolk sac present and the beginnings of a fetal pole. She’s sent me for another beta draw just to check how my progesterone is looking and will put me on suppositories.

I go back next Thursday for a repeat ultrasound! Might be able to hear a heartbeat but it still might be a little too soon.

I know anything can still happen but breathing easier tonight!
