Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o 10/7

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (if you've been):

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):

How are things going?:

Any questions?:

GTKY: what are your SO's best/worst traits?

  • @b_1029 I’m sorry for AF and the added punch of the announcement. I totally understand why feel the way you do and it’s okay to be hurt. This stuff sucks.

  • Missed some tags you sneaky sneakers!

@NYTino24 sorry for the strange cycle! I think you're right that CM is less important for an IUI because hopefully the sperm are almost there anyway. Hopefully you get out of limbo soon - that's a crappy place to be.

@inthewoods23 good luck wit your ETA testing! I'm no help about that, I can keep all FX for normal tests! I'm seeing a lot of hubbies on here who need help expressing their emotions...mine too. It's got to be at least partially a male thing, but sometimes it makes them hard to relate to! Like, why aren't you crying right now?

@inthewoods23 I’m hoping your results are normal for your next test. Glad the other ones came back good. FWIW the RE hasn’t mentioned inflammation for me even thought the OBGyn did after my abnormal pap. I’m wondering if I need to explore that more now. I’ve been thinking about it and kind of shook it off because of all this IF stuff has taken my time and because she was on leave. I think she’s back now, so I should probably call.

  • @kpearse99 Assuming your long cycle was anovulatory and this one wasn’t because of the trigger, I’d think it would be a “normal” length.
@emeraldduchess Hope you don’t need that IUI, but we will be here if you do!
@meri-mac It’s great that YH is willing to do whatever he can. I hope your ER goes well and that it results in a THB.

  • @mvt2003 I hope that announcement doesn't happen. Fx for the rest of your testing!

@emeraldduchess Fx so hard for you that you won't even need the IUI next cycle, but if you do I hope the IUI does the trick! I'm with you on that TWW crazy train though lol.

@kpearse99 I'm glad you are in such a good place with this cycle. Fx for you beta buddy!
So it was 5 on Friday(day of transfer), They wanted to see 7, so they had me ditch the suppositories and just go with PIO every day. My poor butt lol. I got to speak with my nurse today though which was so nice I was stuck with on call nurses over the weekend. And I had so many questions. But she had me come in today to check my progesterone again and I'm so hoping it looks better today. But she eased a lot of my fears of the whole cycle being doomed so that is relief.

@NYTino24 Oddly enough mine was 5 too. The nurse told me that day of transfer (since it was an endometrin day for me) They were expecting 7. I'm still not quite sure I understand the whole thing, how it would be different if it was a day I was on PIO. But regardless your story makes me have some more hope.

@meri-mac Good luck with starting IVF! And thank you I'm a huge Star Wars nerd!

  • @inthewoods23 Yeah I had a hard time understanding the reasoning too. But I guess the PIO is stronger than the suppositories so they'd rather me just be 100% on PIO. Idk why doing both with increasing the frequency of the PIO would hurt but I'm choosing to trust that they know more about this than I do and just go with it. But it's certainly not easy.

  • @hanshotfirst77 yeah 🤷‍♀️ how many times a day are you doing the PIO and what did they say your progesterone was at on transfer day? I was at 34 with doing PIO and the Endometrin morning and night.

@meri-mac it also helped me to just think about the work week and how far I was into that to help the time pass. 🙂

  • @inthewoods23 Oh wow I wish mine was like that. It was only 5 on transfer day. I was doing PIO every other day 1ml and the other days I'd do endometrin 3 times a day. So now they have me doing PIO everyday at 1ml. I haven't heard back yet on what it is today after 3 days in a row of just PIO. But fx it's much higher than 5!

  • Updated in WTO, but my OB-GYN wanted our PCP to write the order for MH's SA, I called and they're leaving a message for the doctor, but the receptionist said they'll probably want him to be seen before they'll write the order. We have appointments for our physicals in November, honestly. I just need him to write a freaking order for a medical test which they can discuss in November after the results are freaking in. Today is just not my day.

  • @meri-mac We need to know if I am CMV positive or negative and order sperm accordingly. Never knew this was a thing until we got here. Results should have been in today.

    @kpearse99 Thank you!  <3

@hanshotfirst77 That is my thought too. I don' want the whole thing called off just because I couldn't order in time, when it would still be there weeks in advance. I will send them an email and just ask them what else they need and hope that I can move this forward. Thank you. Woohoo!! Yes progesterone!! Great update.

@mvt2003 Oh man that is frustrating! Why can't things just be simple?!
  • @hanshotfirst77 Woohoo! What a rebound! Are you doing PIO?

Speaking of soaring numbers, my temp is now 103.15 just two days before I was supposed to get the flu shot. So annoyed.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • @misshelen86 I was thinking of you today and looking for your update!! The first visit with the RE is always overwhelming, I felt that too. I can't say in IUI vs IVF yet, but I'd hope your doc has your best interests in mind.

@hanshotfirst77 excellent news today! I so glad your body responded so quickly to the progesterone.

@mvt2003 Boooo for getting the runaround from the docs! Weird that your PCP needs to get involved, mine hasn't been this entire time! Well I hope it all gets figured out super fast.

@nitnat007 wow you're moving so fast to IVF! I sincerely hope all the logistics work out for getting this in there so fast!

@kpearse99 I'd assume your cycle would be normal, LP wise. You're not on progesterone, correct?

@meri-mac welcome! Always sad to see new faces around here but happy to have new friends!! Hope you move on quick!
