@Austenista I’ve been the friend that people were afraid to tell. Honestly it really hurt my feelings that they thought I’d be so small and petty that I couldn’t be happy for them even while mourning my own loss.
@Austenista I too have been on the other side of that. I would recommend telling her gently after she's had some time to grieve. Don't let her find out via social media. That will sting much more. I would have honestly preferred it via text early on when my MC was still raw so I could process it privately. And then don't be surprised or take it personally if you don't hear from her for a little bit. I'm so sorry for your friend's loss.
